We checked out the best mixology in Montgomery and were directed to Leroy. We were not disappointed! Marcus was absolutely amazing. He asked us about what we liked and what liquor we preferred and was able to make the very best cocktail that either my sister or I have had in a long time. I highly recommend Leroy to anyone who wants a truly fine cocktail experience.

Great local pub. Several local and unique beers on tap.Props to Marcus for putting up with our crew and answering a million questions. Classy, laid back vibes, with no annoying blaring televisions, just classic Motown and classic RnB 60s-90s.

It was evening when we came upon The Pubic House in Montgomery, Alabama—though time seemed to blur there, the way it does when stories are being told and the glass is half-full and the hush of the day’s end gives way to something looser, livelier. The sun had bowed its head behind the city’s shoulder, and we stepped into that dim, golden light that bars wear like memory—where wood and whiskey speak louder than clocks ever could. Inside, the air was thick with old songs and good laughter. Brick walls that held heat and history, floors that had felt the weight of boots and dancing alike. It was not polished or prim, no. It was lived in, the way a favorite novel is—thumbed and dog-eared and rich with the fingerprints of nights that had mattered. The drinks were poured like sermons—measured, steady, full of truth. A pint here, a cocktail there, maybe something neat to mark the kind of night that needed no reason. The bartender didn’t serve, he delivered, with the ease of someone who’d heard it all and still chose to listen. You felt known before you gave your name. And the food—God, the food came hot and honest. Burgers stacked with defiance, fries that crackled when they landed, plates that didn’t aim for pretty but landed right in the soul. The kind of eating that makes you lean back and loosen your belt and laugh like you earned it. But it was more than just a meal, or a drink, or a place to duck from the weather. The Public House was a shelter of sorts—a place where strangers tilt their heads toward each other and speak like old friends. A place where time stutters, and the jukebox tells the truth better than the news ever could. So if you find yourself in Montgomery, wandering and wanting not just food or drink but fellowship, let your feet take you there. To The Public House, where the stories hang in the air, the bourbon is warm, and the night stretches out like a song you never want to end.

A Hidden Gem in Montgomery – Hiltop Coffee I’ve lived in Montgomery for 25 years, and I can’t believe this is my first time at Hiltop Coffee! The coffee is absolutely delicious, and the cozy seating inside creates a relaxing atmosphere. It’s a bit hidden, so many might not know it’s here—even though it’s been open for three years! Every true coffee lover in Montgomery should give this place a visit. So glad I discovered it. Thank you, Hiltop Coffee!

Absolutely loved everything about this place! The drinks were on point, the staff was very friendly and super talented, and the drinks were reasonably priced. I also felt very comfortable in there as a middle aged individual. I highly recommend you check them out. My photos are no different than the others, but I will add them just the same.

Not a welcoming environment…no service when we walked in or direction of how seating was done..we never got seated & stood up the whole time before we decided to leave. We are from out of town and were looking for a black owned place with good vibes that sold hookah and drinks…thats about all we saw from them. Took 15 minutes to order a drink at the bar because the staff just ignores you. The dj played nothing but what seemed like local artists music..I didn’t know one song he played and I am 22 y/o & heavily in the club scene. Half of the establishment was roped off and the ppl that were seated filled seats with their purse or their legs and there wasn’t anyone sitting there.. The mc was obnoxious shouting over the mic every 5 seconds..going forward, I suggest a broader music selection and a training to staff members about bar etiquette and service policies. Finally, the dress code was not clear as the rules outlined on the door stated one thing but upon further examination, the patrons did not appear to have read them….Not to mention the same obnoxious mc commenting over the mic about people’s outfits. 0/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND.

Wow! Should have known when we walked up 20 minutes after opening and the door was locked. Entered into the smell of weed. Took nearly 40 min to get food after ordering. Both Philly sandwich and salad were room temperature. Told us there was a military discount but didn't apply it. Meat potion on my Philly sandwich was not worth $16. Tea was old or rancid. Won't be back!

Top Notch is a nice little hole in the wall joint. Great music, great food and great drinks. Our waiter was amazing but service was a little slow because of staffing. You must be 30 to get in so keep that in mind. I had the Ciroc wings which were really good. Their fries were seasoned so good!! Also, their house made chips were amazing as well. It can get pretty loud since the place is not that big but the music is playing. I recommend.

My type of adult fun! we went around 7 pm and although it was crowded we still managed to be seated in the upstairs area which was cool.. great over head view near the bar. Our server was so sweet ! reminded me of a relative. The drinks were bomb , the food was amazing ... hot and full and flavor... and to top it off the musical selection that was performing around that time did not disappoint!! 30 and up crowd ... no nonsense. We will bavk whenever we are in town. be sure to set reservations for the weekend if planning ahead

The fish and grits are superb! The barbecue was good (could have been a little warmer) and all the sides we ordered were tasty. Pork chops the Chef is the best cook in Montgomery, Alabama. I drove from Birmingham, Alabama just to buy a Pork chop and wings plate dipped in Pork chops special sauce. The fried okra was so delicious I just kept on eating it until I reached my daughter's house. I had about six pieces of okra left to share with my daughter. Sorry daughter I just couldn't help myself. The Red Velvet Cupcakes are so moist and delicious too. Please go bye and visit Pork chop at Club G's, I promise you will be satisfied and full.

So much fun! A lot of songs!.... only complaint: it needed to be easier to find music by the artists. Otherwise loved our time there! 5 of us got a small room plenty of room and pretty cheap at $16.50 per person for 3 hours! Great service!

Brad Gauvin56 years ago

This was my first karaoke experience and it was great! They have small and medium rooms as well as a large room to accommodate parties. You can’t hear the other parties when your music is playing, but when it stops you can hear the room next yours. This actually helped us choose our songs as we tried to out perform the room next to us. We ended up combining parties in the large room. Wonderful staff. From what we had of the food, it wasn’t the best but we were there to sing and not eat. Overall, wonderful place! If you are trying out karaoke, this is the place to do it!

Food and service were awesome! The bartender was attentive and extremely helpful. The food was outstanding. From the steak tacos to the bread pudding, we loved it all. We had the Portobello Grilled Cheese, Hanger Steak and the Catfish. All aspects of the meal were spot on. The drinks were great, and I was given several beer samples to help me make a decision. Thanks Cork and Cleaver!

My hubby and I went here for dinner, and it was great! We started with the Fried Green tomatoes (not pictured), and they were delicious. My hubby had the Lobster Mac & Cheese, and I had the Blackened Salmon. We both enjoyed our food; it was seasoned well and had good portions. I don't drink alcohol, and they made me a cute mocktail that tasted great! They had some pretty good desserts on their menu, but we were so full from the appetizer and our meals. Will definitely go back!

I had a blast at the Aviator Bar! The atmosphere is incredible, with WWII Army & flight decor everywhere. It's like stepping back in time. The drinks are top-notch, and the service is friendly and attentive. It's a great place to meet up with friends or go on a date. The only downside is that it can get pretty busy, especially on weekends. Some of the things I loved about the Aviator Bar: * The military decor is amazing. It's everywhere, from the walls to the tables to the bar itself. * The drinks are delicious. They have a wide variety of cocktails, beers, and wines to choose from. * The service is great. The bartenders are friendly and attentive, and they know how to make a good cocktail. * The atmosphere is fun. It's a great place to relax and enjoy a drink with friends. Overall, I highly recommend the Aviator Bar. It's a great place to have a good time and experience a bit of military history.

I frequent this place weekly...Thursday nights from 5 to 10pm they have live performance by Eric Perkins and Aleta Davis. It is the highlight of my week. The live music is engaging, the food is really good (especially the wings and flatbread pizza). There is usually line dancing and crowd participation.. most nights there is a live performer in different genres like country and blues.. the servers can be slow at times and you may have difficulty getting in your order. Just go to the bar and order everything. You get it much more quickly. I highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Montgomery for the first time or for locals who want a relaxing, safe environment to enjoy drinks and have conversation.

Tina Bohley15 months ago

The website states opening hours is 4, but they don't open till 4:30. We were told we could pick a table outside and the server would come out and wipe the table down, and she would bring us water. After waiting a while, we decided we would probably get quicker service inside. So we went in and sat at the bar. As I sat down, I notice sticky stains on the bar. As they had just opened, I guess that was left over from the night besfore. We ordered cheese sticks to start. When we received our order, the cheese sticks were not cooked enough. They were cold and the cheese was not melted. Also, the marinara sauce was cold. I would not go back, especially at their prices. Considering this place is part of the Renaissance hotel, I expected more.

What was once one of the hottest bars in town is now sort of an average night out. A lot of the things that made it unique are now an after thought. It is attached to Aviator and Commerce Beer works and this means that because CBW sometimes has live music you pay a cover to get in no matter which bar you're drinking at. Often one of the three bars is packed and the other two are not. It also tends to leave it's area of the alley littered with cigarettes. If you have never been by all means check it out.
