J&J are the sweetest kindest people I've met in a long time. A friend of mine needed a little help and they showed love and kindness to him and to me. I plan to stop in more often.
Bar top was sticky... oh girl behind the bar more interested running her mouth than cleaning. Couldn't hear anything besides the bartender talking. SMH yea place needs to just close already. My drink tasted like lemonade

I loooove a good dive bar. My family came down from 4 different states to Watch me to a triathalon by sequoia. It was St Paddys and thought it’d be a cool spot to stop by for some drinks and pool. We’re all asian, so pardon our young genetics, lol. But they wouldn’t accept our Legal IDs from the states we were from??? And we are all over 21… literally my cousins mom was there…And they were pretty rude about not accepting our identificación. I’m pretty used to grimey dive bars, in fact i love them. But they weregiving judgemental energy. Find somewhere else to get a drink. The service is literally ass crack.
The Shanty is the best dive bar in Fresno. So great to have local owners that make each visit amazing for us. Great time, music, and conversation. If you’re looking for a good time - Fresno and Shaw is the place to be!
