Dusk Bar 4.9 (68)

524 State St, Santa Barbara, CA 93101, USA

Recent Reviews:

Dusk is an excellent bar located within the Drift Hotel. We were extremely pleased that this was attached to our hotel, and we visited it multiple times during our stay. They have multiple happy hours and special nights during the week that allow you to get high-quality cocktails at a reasonable price. One of my favorites was the Oaxan old fashioned. We also got the whipped ricotta dish, which was incredible—a perfect bar snack. The bartenders were kind, particularly Will, and spent time telling us about the best spots in Santa Barbara. Overall, I highly recommend this bar and would come here even if we weren’t staying at the attached hotel.

What an amazing little gem. It’s a lobby bar of a hotel but doesn’t feel like it. Bartender is amazingly knowledgeable and super friendly, chef is superb! Happy hour oysters are out of this world, margaritas are delish. I will come back every time in SB.

I’ve been to the Riviera Bar twice, and both times we enjoyed their cocktails and food. I’ve tried the Siesta, Nora Collins, and Ginger Pimms and would recommend them all. The tallow fries, calamari, and burger were all delicious. The staff is friendly and attentive. Overall, the atmosphere is comfortable and cozy, and we’ll definitely return next time we’re in town.

During my recent weekend getaway in Santa Barbara, I was on the hunt for a local downtown spot to enjoy some good food and drinks. After browsing through online reviews, I decided to check out the Riviera Bar, and I’m so glad I did! From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the welcoming and vibrant atmosphere. The staff were incredibly attentive and friendly, making me feel right at home. I had a few special requests for my drinks, and they were more than accommodating, crafting delicious concoctions that perfectly suited my tastes. Although I only sampled the appetizers, they were nothing short of fantastic. Each dish was bursting with flavor, and it was clear that a lot of care went into their preparation. The experience was made even better by the friendly folks at the next table, who were also enjoying their evening. We ended up having a great conversation and shared a few laughs, adding to the overall warmth of the place. My evening at the Riviera Bar was wonderful from start to finish. The combination of excellent service, delicious food, and a lively atmosphere makes it a must-visit spot in Santa Barbara. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable night out!

Warm and welcoming late-night bar with great drinks and comfort food! My pictures aren’t great but be sure that this place was. We came here after a concert both hungry and eager for good drinks - Rodeo Room did not disappoint! Both house wines and cocktail selections hit the spot alongside some appetizing food items. Crispy Brussels, Pimento Questo, and those Buffalo Chicken Eggrolls were especially satisfying. Most of all, lovely service and a casual vibe! Late hours are a plus and definitely worth a visit!

How could you go to the pickle room and not get a pickletini? You can’t! A delicious night cap at what feels like a local joint. It was packed but we got a seat on the booth at the back of the room near the end of the bar. Feels so homey and relaxed, the waitress was so kind. The pickletini was the best I’ve ever had and the pickle garnish was a perfect and necessary touch! I might just go back tonight for round two 🥒🍸

Love the ambiance of the restaurant, I like the fire and wood elements. Staff was attentive and very friendly. It felt upscale but relaxed. We got the bacon wrapped figs, lamb sliders, mole tacos, and the brie n jam bites. The only thing I didn't care for was the brie. Texture and flavors were not for me. Lamb was cooked perfectly with great flavors, tacos were tasty, and I could eat two plates of the bacon wrapped figs. Bit pricey for portions, but what you would expect for quality at a tapas place. Gave 5 for overall experience.

Raquel Kalina5a month ago

I’ve been here many times, it’s one of my favorite tapas places in Santa Barbara. Very dark and cozy. Perfect for date night. My husband and I got one of the tables in the back with curtain dividers so it felt really intimate. Service was quick. Food leans toward Spanish-American, and you can find a variety of popular favorites like sliders, bacon wrapped dates, etc. We decided to order the Calamari, Ahi Nachos, Burrata the flavor and Mariscos Paella. Calamari had a nice flakiness, perfectly crisp coating. Very tasty. Ahi Nachos had a nice kick in spice and was pretty solid in flavor. The Burrata was my favorite with tomatoes and garlic; it was incredibly delicious with the buttered bread. The Paella wasn’t the most authentic Mariscos Paella, considering it had chicken; though it was still very robust and flavorful. Cocktails were strong and fruity. I ordered the Oaxacan Pear-adise, which I highly recommend for something smoky and sweet. My husband ordered the Midnight In The Garden and it was equally satisfying.

The Good Lion 4.6 (430)

1212 State St, Santa Barbara, CA 93101, USA

Swanky bar with leather banquettes offering a changing menu of inventive cocktails & live jazz.

Recent Reviews:

Lawrence Eady54 months ago

Mine and my friends' favorite cocktail bar in Santa Barbara The Good Lion is one of a couple of the highest level of quality and service for cocktail bars in Santa Barbara. In addition, their prices are the same or lower than other cocktail bars, and often lower than cocktails from restaurants. The bartenders are always willing to help guide you through drinks, both on and off menu. This is great place if you are visiting Santa Barbara and want to plant yourself in downtown or experience some of the best SB has to offer. It is also a great piece of a date night, meet-up with friends, or simply for someone who wants to have the confidence their classic cocktail will be made very well. Putting 4 stars on the atmosphere only because, during peak times, it can become crowded and hard to find a place to sit due to its smaller size. Aside from that, it's great. Dimly lit with an almost speak-easy vibe.

Kevin Siphender43 weeks ago

If you're searching for a cocktail experience that transcends the ordinary, The Good Lion is your sanctuary. Nestled in the heart of downtown Santa Barbara, this intimate bar is a masterclass in mixology, ambiance, and hospitality. The drink menu is a rotating showcase of seasonal ingredients and global inspiration. Whether you're sipping a smoky mezcal concoction or a delicate gin-based floral blend, every cocktail feels like a story told in flavor.

What a great experience! It started with being seated at a wonderful table with clear beachfront views and heat lamps. Then, Adam M. came to serve us. Adam is the best example of customer service - personable and attentive, while still giving us plenty of time to giggle on our college reunion weekend. He patiently took photos, and helped us reposition for the best ones. He gave us great drink suggestions. It continued with wonderful drinks and great meals. I have dietary restrictions, and Adam and the chef couldn't have been more accommodating. I'm providing examples of some of our food and drinks including my tuna poke bowl. We loved the matcha martini! I highly recommend this restaurant!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Reunion Kitchen and Bar, and it was an experience to remember! The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the ocean view seating, which provided a stunning backdrop for our meal. The ambiance was enhanced by the cozy fireplace heater, making it the perfect spot to relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery. The food was great, with a diverse menu that catered to various tastes. The staff was friendly and attentive, ensuring we had everything we needed. I highly recommend Reunion Kitchen and Bar for anyone looking to enjoy great food in a breathtaking setting. My friends and I love this bar, and the atmosphere. Friendly people and the pool table adds an extra level of fun. Unfortunately, we had a bad experience with the bartender (brown hair, younger). I personally had a banking situation so I had to go get the cash from a friend down the street, but in the interim she told my friends that they could not leave if the tab was not paid for ($32), creating an uncomfortable environment. When I got back, I only had $20 dls and waiting on my friend to cashapp me the rest to pay for my tab (this was around 1:10 am) but the bartender was very rude and disrespectful towards us. I let her know that I was waiting for a transfer, so she started making fun of me and being condescending and with a big attitude, even though it was not closing time yet. Bartender ended up kicking me out, because she stated that did not have time for that. It is very unfortunate because she ruined our night and we don’t feel comfortable going back out there anymore.

Went here to see a band from LA play. The venue is easy to find. (It's on the 2nd floor) Security checks your ID and tickets as being let in to the venue. They separate the venue if you aren't allowed to drink you can still see the show which is great. The restaurant has very delicious food definitely worth a bite to eat if you are hungry. I don't drink but they do have a full bar and plenty of beers to choose from. The venue has great sound and plenty of room to dance around. Parking is around in the back and they had plenty available when I arrived. If I know someone playing here I'll come back.

We only had one night of our holiday in Santa Barbara and I wanted to visit here because of the great range of beers brewed on-site. The beers were indeed great but just as good was the food. We ordered 2 filet mignon, a blackened pork chop and the pork tacos. We all thought the food was delicious and my wife says the steak she had was the best meal she had in the whole 14 nights we spent in California!! We had the Housh Helles lager and Belgian Lace honey blonde to drink but the good thing is you can have 4oz tasters so we had few of those as well. We would have spent longer here but it was closing time by the time we finished our meal. Would love to visit again.

Many aspects of this restaurant worthy of praise. We went at night, so we couldn’t enjoy the view of the shoreline but I’m sure it’s beautiful during the day considering you are just steps away from the sand. The staff are very attentive and professional which complement the atmosphere of the establishment. Everything on the menu sounded good so we ended up sharing all of our dishes. The quality of food is amazing and every dish was delicious. My favorites were the flaky and flavorful sea bass as well as the best risotto I’ve ever had that came with seared scallops. Wish I was a local so that I could go more often!

This place was good, nothing great though. My burger was mid, the fries had a bit of an odd flavor to it, but my wife’s quinoa salmon bowl was quite good. The service was also mid - the waitress was nice and our food came quickly, but she wasn’t very present and didn’t fill up our drinks often. The vibe was fun though - the weather was great so we ate outside, and it was full of people with a the ambiance was great!

We were not ready for the phenomenal service and great drinks. The food was delicious and easily marked for gf (perfect for my wife who has celiac). Definitely try the wings with buffalo sauce (the yuzu touch makes it bright and tart), their coconut shrimp (divine and gf!!), and their bison burger (cooked perfectly through and through). Watch the video, see the presentation on the drinks. My wife loved her Mai tai, and my whisky drink which I cannot remember the name of, was fabulous in all the ways. Make sure to ask for Aaron, he was awesome and made wonderful suggestions. And then go for a beautiful stroll down the pier when you’re all done. It’s a perfect introduction to Santa Barbara.

Bartenders are very knowledgeable and understands flavor profiles. Drinks are great, atmosphere is great, however it can be very loud when busy, and service at the bar can be slow when they are busy, though understandable, it’s something to be aware of when they are busy. No kitchen, but restaurants and Ralph’s are in the same shopping mall. Nice people, reasonable prices. More a local hangout, which I look forward to. If in the area search “dive bars near me.” It will come up. It’s a nice place, just not a tourist stop. Clean and friendly. I’ll be back next time I’m in town.

We stopped in last night to see a band that I believe called themselves "I like your dog", or something to that effect. It was a good band that played fun covers. The crowd was good sized for a Thursday. Lots of happy people enjoying the drinks and company. The bar itself has plenty of seats, a semblance of a dance floor, some quieter patio seats and a small kitchen. We did not order any food but a few people seemed enjoy the pizza. The drinks we had were well made and the prices seemed about average for expensive SB. We enjoyed our eventing at the Uptown and we will return.

I was floored when i walked in, absolutely beautiful lounge. They got great cocktails but Marcus' patter is the best thing you'll get while sipping on a delicious lemon drop. They have a pizza oven in the back which makes for an amazing crust. Honestly, one of the best hidden gems in the city.

As someone who usually orders a tequila soda or mojito at the bar, I actually could not decide which drink to try here! I came with my girl friend on a Sunday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised. I got the Thai tea drink, and while it did not really taste like Thai tea, it was still VERY well-balanced. The whole menu was super fun and the bartender was very patient in helpful in recommending drinks. The interior is super cute and there's plenty of outdoor seating. Would definitely come again!

Review was done by Emily, our well behaved pup. You know when you're out “window shopping” with your humans and you spot one lonely water bowl outside a café and think, “Nice try”? Yeah, well, The Cruisery wasn’t playing around. They had flights of water bowls lined up out front. FLIGHTS. I knew something special was brewing… and it wasn’t just beer. Next thing I know, a human I’ve never sniffed before is handing me a treat! I’m thinking, Is this a pitch for a dog-friendly timeshare? But no—better. We head inside, and boom—another treat. And not the usual dry Milk Bone nonsense. I’m talking premium, once-a-year-holiday-level treats. We get seated by a window (great squirrel-watching views), and then it happens... They hand us menus and I get one. A dog menu. Just. For. Me. My humans ordered appetizers (chips & guac—she shared one chip), but I scored big: salmon and rice. When it arrived, my human actually said she could eat it. I had to remind her—stay in your lane, lady. Those treats? Just whet my appetite. Paws down: 🐾 Great food 🐾 Great service 🐾 Great humans 5 Paws - 🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾

We have had the culinary pleasure of eating here on several occasions. Happily the food and service is consistently excellent. A fun atmosphere for friends and family with indoor and outdoor seating. Bottles of cold water always appear quickly to quench your thirst after walking State Street. Fantastic chips and guacamole to start your meal is a great choice. The BBQ chicken salad is quite satisfying with plenty of chicken tossed with yummy bacon and a fantastic bbq dressing. The Cruisery burger and the Korean chicken burger are mouthfuls of flavor perfection. Those fries? So, so good! A fabulous roasted beet salad is so refreshing and light. Don’t miss the happy hour tapas! On our recent visit we enjoyed the lavender lemonade and the tangerine spritz. Both light and lovely with the bonus of being an adult beverage. Come and enjoy the atmosphere, excellent service and consistently excellent food!

Fun atmosphere. Music playing with big screen tvs playing sports and music videos. Not to loud not to talk and have a good time. You can rent the billboard tables by the hour. Dargan’s has become our go-to hangout while we’re waiting to supercharge our Tesla in Santa Barbara. It’s super convenient, just downstairs from the charging station and the vibe is always laid-back. We usually swing by right when they open, and it’s nice and quiet. Perfect spot to grab a drink, share some appetizers, and even catch up on a bit of work if needed. Huge shoutout to our favorite bartender, Shane he’s always so nice and accommodating, and really makes the place feel welcoming every time we stop by. Solid food, chill atmosphere, and great service. I'm giving an honest review as a person that's actively trying to make this place a better place and a better cocktail lounge. Most of the people that go there are good people. It's a mixed bag, you may find people you vibe with, and you may find people you don't like so much, but the common thread is respect. As long as you have respect for others, you will always be welcome there. Go on in there, have a cocktail, say hi to a stranger. Play some music on the TouchTunes. Play some pool or foosball, shoot some darts. Let's all make DLVL a place to chill and have new experiences, and make new connections. With love. The 1 star is cause they don't have food. Lol

We recently had our wedding after party here at EOS Lounge. Shasta was the point of contact at EOS who was very attentive, professional and friendly. Shasta made sure we had everything confirmed and communicated with us the entire way. Our experience with Bottle service and reserved lounges made our night so easy and a blast. The marquee sign that was custom to our Wedding Party was such a sweet and memorable way to commemorate the night. Thank you EOS for taking care of us! Would love to come back for another night out soon.

Nicole Alinsod55 months ago

I hosted my brother’s wedding after party here and it was the BEST experience ever! I worked with Shasta to rent out a private lounge with our own private bar, bathroom, and dedicated DJ. Shasta was EXCELLENT. Throughout the whole planning process, she was informative, responsive, and an overall pleasure to work with. She made everything so easy and was accommodating of everything we wanted. She even threw in a couple surprises for us that just made the whole experience so special and even better than we could have ever imagined! We truly felt like VIPs with special wristbands and our own bouncer. The lounge itself was perfect and easily accommodated our ~60 guests. Our DJ (Curly) was outstanding! He took our music genre preference and small sample playlist and CRUSHED IT! The dance floor was packed the entire time and there wasn’t a dull moment the whole time from 10-2am! Shasta and another gentleman were the bartenders and they were super quick with service and made amazing drinks the whole night! My favorite were the green tea shots! The two seating areas and the private restroom were so convenient. Overall, I know everyone had the most perfect night and I will DEFINITELY be coming back soon! THANK YOU TO EVERYONE AT EOS AND ESPECIALLY SHASTA!!!

We shared the Tostado El Rancho Salad and the Baja Burrito with carne asada—both dishes were perfectly cooked, bursting with flavor, and generously portioned. Even the chips and salsa were top-notch. Highly recommend dining here, especially if you can grab a table outside.

This place was a great find on our one day trip in Santa Barbara. We're from Ohio and so we were traveling the coast of California looking for all different unique places to visit and experience. This place definitely made the top of the list. Their food was fabulous, great happy hour deals. The atmosphere was so special and just fun! I recommend it to anyone who's looking for something to eat with friends or family, or even by yourself. They had plenty of TVs if you're there to watch sports but they didn't stand out because the rest of the atmosphere is decorated so well. We were here for a wedding. The venue was beautiful although the venue next door had a love band and it was pretty loud. There were nice little areas to sit and chat away from the established dining tables and they had heaters to keep the outdoors areas from being Too chilly. It only had one bathroom for all but it was large, clean and well stocked. They tried too hard on the food. Some of it was just not edible. (The beef tasted like toothpaste.) Some was delicious. It was hit or miss. The staff were the most impressive thing about the place. Excellent customer service. We also had breakfast from this place the next morning. That was excellent.

I do not recommend coming here unless you would like your phone stolen each time you go. They have signs up warning people of the issue but nothing is done to ensure safety. I have been twice with friends and the first time a wallet and phone got stolen from my group when we had them secure on our persons. The second time a phone was stolen from my friends hand and luckily we were able to get it back. PLEASE BE AWARE AS IT SEEMS THE OWNER DOES NOT WANT TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT BESIDES POSTING SIGNS, seems like a sus situation especially since it happens so often.
