If you’re looking for a local gem away from the tourist hustle, Surly Siren Saloon is the spot. We stopped in one day, had such a great time, and came back the very next day—now we’re officially hooked! The live music is fun and creates the perfect laid-back vibe. The food is fantastic (do yourself a favor and try the smash burger—easily one of the best we’ve had). Service is top-notch; everyone is friendly and welcoming, making you feel like a regular even on your first visit. The outside seating is amazing with an incredible view—perfect for a relaxing evening with great drinks and great company. This is hands-down the best non-touristy bar around. Highly recommend!

Walking into The Retro Room in Key West honestly feels like walking into a time capsule. The first thing that hit me was how different it is from the usual bars down here it’s not about noise or chaos, it’s about the vibe. The walls are covered with 80s comics, cassette tapes line the bar, and there are old-school arcade machines ready to go. It really does make me feel part of an era I was never a part of in the first place. The drinks are on point. They’ve got a big selection on tap beer, wine, even sake which is something you don’t see everywhere. I tried a couple and they were solid, plus the happy hour prices made it even better. This isn’t a “fancy cocktail” spot; it’s more of a place where you come to chill, play games, and enjoy yourself without the usual Key West touristy feel. The games are what make this place stand out. You’ve got retro arcades, board games, and even music bingo. It’s the kind of place where you don’t just sit at the bar and stare at your phone you actually do stuff. That makes it social in a way most bars just aren’t anymore. Now, it is a small place. When it fills up, it feels packed, and the food options are limited. But honestly, that’s not why you come here. You come for the nostalgia, the drinks, and the community vibe. I noticed a lot of locals hanging around, which to me is always a good sign. For me, The Retro Room is the kind of place that deserves more recognition. It’s not trying to be the biggest or the flashiest it’s authentic. It feels like the owners put a lot of heart into creating something different for Key West, and they nailed it. If you like the 80s, or even if you just want a laid-back spot with good drinks and a fun environment, this place is worth checking out. It’s not just a bar it’s an experience.

This is a must stop of you are a Jimmy Buffett fan! Very small place and seating is very limited. They offer free popcorn, peanuts and hot dogs for food. Great drinks and domestic beers with at least one craft choice on bottles. The place is a shrine to the characters of old Key West and of course where Jimmy got his start in 1971. Talk to the bartenders and they'll tell you great stories of the old days.

This place is awesome!! A legit rum bar inside a comfy old house from the 1800s. The drinks on the menu are ridiculously good and strong, and they can even make stuff that's not on the menu, or basic drinks like a rum and coke, etc. The bartender with the moustache was really cool and friendly and great to talk to, as well as the pretty blonde lady who was there the next day when I came back. They told me they have around 600 different rums from countries all around the world. I recommend the painkiller, toasted coconut rum bar, the rum runner, and the frozen seasonal fruit daiquiri. I didn't try the hurricane but would have if I was there longer. So many good options it's crazy. The bar itself is small and L shaped, so it's easy to meet people there and have a good time. They also have some tables both inside and outside on the porch in case you came with some people. Apparently there's an inn too upstairs but I didn't stay there. Overall a great place and definitely worth a stop or two while you're in Key West! Cheers!

You have to come here for happy hour!! On Saturdays I think it was 12-3pm. This bar has such a cool vibe, very speaks easy type feel and they have an amazing happy hour! You get to roll dice to determine the cost of your drink. 1= $1, 2=$2, 3= half price, 4-5-6=-7 full price. It was so fun and a unique way to draw people in! Every drink was hand crafted and EXCELLENT. So well crafted and high quality in every detail. My favorite was the key lime martini which had toasted homemade meringue on top, sooo good!! Every drink we ordered was top-notch.

Cute bar close to cruise port, on Duval Street. They have yummy, pretty drinks but they can get pricey (especially if you spring for the frozen pineapple cup). It's usually pretty lively with live music, band, or karaoke going on. Service in our experience has been hit or miss- either very friendly, fun, proactive bartenders or standoffish ones who are trying to do the bare minimum possible and act like speaking or interacting with you is painful. Overall, worth a stop if you're visiting Key West.

This Sunset pier is an absolute amazing spot to see the sunset. There are lots of restaurants, musicians, artists, local museums, Hotels, boats of all kinds from small sailing boats to huge cruise ships. and much more. The food is excellent and the service is fantastic. Anywhere in Key West is great. The beaches are beautiful and clean. The people are very friendly and welcoming. Chickens are running wild everywhere you Look. Hundreds of people come to the Keys every year. Parking is not free you have to park everywhere you go. Handicap parking is free for 4 hours in a handicap parking area. Of course you are only 100 miles away from Cuba. There are so many different ethnicities all over the Keys. The night life is a big attraction with lots of bars and places to dance. The history of the Keys is interesting as well. The fishing is great too. The water is so clear and blue. This is absolutely a must see location. I highly recommend this place!

So, I was fortunate enough to be in Key West for a few days and stopped by the Sunset Pier while I was there. My lady and I enjoyed our time. There was a band playing some soulful old school music. The food and the service were great. And the view! Watching the sunset while listening to good live music, enjoying good food and drinks with my lady. I’m not sure how this place has such good reviews. It’s a hotel bar. The bartender is not friendly at all. They “don’t make mojitos” so I got a strawberry daiquiri, which was just the premade syrup and one of those automatic frozen drink machines. $10 and disgustingly sweet. There was a nice breeze, nice view, and some live music, which is the only reason I gave it two stars. There are a billion better places to grab a drink.

Contrary to our yearly tradition, we decided to try Flying Monkey Bar & Restaurant on Duval Street this time – and we were more than impressed! The quality of the food and the friendliness of the staff really stood out to us. Here you get absolutely delicious food for a very fair price. We had the Cuban steak, which my daughter declared to be the best steak she has ever eaten. Our other dishes, including the Caesar salad with mahi mahi and my husband’s Cuban-inspired meat , were also excellent. The Beverage and Food Manager himself stopped by our table several times to make sure everything was perfect, which made the experience even more special. We will definitely come back during the remaining three days of our stay. Thank you for such a wonderful dining experience

Cute and cozy late night spot on Duval street with decent options. I liked the Ruben egg rolls… they reminded me of the OG Costco chicken bakes and had bacon in them. The hangover burger was decent but the mayo threw me off.. it was good house-made mayo, but it was so much that it was dripping down my plate and hands. The pork and pickle flat bread was definitely interesting unfortunately it was so salty so we didn’t really finish it. Recommend the tavern steak sandwich!! The vibes are very cozy but best if you dine solo or as a pair. Our family of 4 was seated in the way back which was fine.. but they lowkey forgot about us. Bro did not refill our water one time. 😭 Outdoor seating is really cute when it’s open. Close to other lively late night spots, including a bar and a small club so you can enjoy the atmosphere. overall, food was okay…just salty. I was starving but I wasn’t really blown away so it probably would’ve been aight if I wasn’t this hungry 6.5/10

We had an excellent visit to Old Town Tavern & Beer Garden on Duval Street. The Fish & Chips with Smithwick’s Ale-battered grouper were hands down the best I’ve ever had. The batter was perfectly crisp, the fish was fresh and flaky, and the fries were hearty and well seasoned. Absolutely worth ordering!!! We also tried the Grilled Greek Salad with romaine, feta, olives, cucumber, tomato, and citrus vinaigrette. Even though we didn’t really taste or see the “grilled” aspect, it was still a flavorful and refreshing salad that paired nicely with the heartier fish and chips. Another highlight was the Blue Chair Bay Key Lime Colada, served on the rocks. It was smooth, creamy, and delicious. Even though it tasted more like a traditional piña colada than something uniquely “key lime,” it was easily the best one I had during my time in Key West! Darker cherries were a nice touch. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting, and it’s also dog friendly as you can see from one of my photos our pup appears in. They kindly brought water for him and made sure he was comfortable (dogs do have to stay leashed on the floor). All in all, Old Town Tavern delivered excellent food, great drinks, excellent service and a welcoming vibe. I would definitely come back and recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal in Key West.

The place doesn't look like much when you walk in but don't let that fool you. Once you sit down and get your first mixed drink you'll be pleasantly surprised. The appetizers were great, The prime rib was great. Our waitress was terrific.

I ordered a starter, nachos with beef, and it was large enough for two or three full grown men. It was huge! The waitress that showed us to our table didn’t enjoy her job. She clearly wanted to be somewhere else. The waiter however did an excellent job. It was nice with a live band. However, parking can be as issue of you drive.

By far my favorite bar in Key West - mostly for the vibes. It's hard to stay long because it's outside in the middle of the most southern point in Florida but.... The bands they choose are the right kind of music, prices are reasonable, and the atmosphere couldn't be better. The bands they choose are incredibly talented and the bartenders are consistently good when mixing drinks. If I lived here, this would definitely be my go-to bar. Been here every night of my measly 4-day vacation.

Sadly I will never go back to this place. The bar tenders were extremely rude the gave me attitude whenever I ordered a drink like I was bothering them. Apparently being on there phones was more important than my business it made me uncomfortable. On a positive note the bad was awesome and the girl selling jello shots was a sweetheart.

We had a great time at Schooner Wharf Bar in Key West! We ordered a dozen oysters for $26 — they were huge, fresh, meaty, and absolutely delicious. We also tried two soups: the clam chowder and the conch chowder. The conch version had a spicy kick and a rich tomato base — definitely something unique. Although they were out of draft beer during our visit, the lively atmosphere more than made up for it. There was live music with guitars playing, which added a really nice touch. We came on a Sunday, and the place was packed — it’s clearly a popular spot. Service was a bit rushed and not very chatty, especially when we asked questions about the menu, but we understand it was a very busy night. Overall, the vibe was fun and the sea breeze made it even more enjoyable. Definitely recommend — great value for the quality!

Great food, great people awesome music and great atmosphere. We had conch chowder, 12 oysters, key lime pie and virgin rum runners. The best part is they welcomed our Weim Nala with a bowl of ice water and a treat on a very warm day. Thank you everyone! We will definitely be back.

Sloppy Joe’s Bar in Key West is an iconic spot with a lively atmosphere, great drinks, and plenty of history tied to Ernest Hemingway. The bar is always buzzing with live music, friendly staff, and a fun crowd, making it a must-visit for anyone in the area. Went there for the Karaoke! Yes, it is a cash bar, and yes, they have an ATM on-site. Had this been any other karaoke bar, I would have sung, had a few drinks, and left. But it's a rainbow pride bar and my two straight couples had the most fun. The atmosphere was supportive, crazy, and talented. We laughed and laughed. Everybody in our group sang (if you can call it that) and loved every minute! A definite recommendation and much thanks to Deb, our bartender, and Jeff, our KJ.

Flat Out Awesome at Flat Jacks! We walked into Flat Jacks in Key West expecting a wait — because let’s face it, good food usually comes with a line. But nope! Zero wait time. We were seated faster than you can say “extra syrup, please.” The vibe? Super chill. It’s the kind of place where you can kick back, relax, and actually hear the people at your table without shouting over blaring music or the clang of 47 dishes. Comfortable seats, laid-back atmosphere — it’s like breakfast with your cool neighbor who knows how to cook. Now, let’s talk about the food. Everything we tried was delicious, from the fluffy pancakes to the savory options. The best part? The menu won’t wreck your vacation budget. Great taste, generous portions, and prices that made us do a double take (in a good way). Flat Jacks is one of those rare spots that delivers speed, comfort, and flavor without the tourist-trap price tag. We left full, happy, and already planning our next visit. Highly recommend!

We stopped in for lunch on a hot May day. The air-conditioning was welcoming us. The hostess greeted us with a cheery smile and showed us to our table. Our server was Jason. A very nice person who was friendly and attentive. We enjoyed talking with him. Jason welcomed us and gave us menus. After giving us a few minutes, he took our order. It seems only seconds went by, when our food appeared. I ordered the Pulled Pork that was a Friday special and my husband ordered the Club. There were fries galore with both orders. Both were very good. (Here's a picture of our half eaten sandwiches.) The servings are plentiful. We ended up taking half home. There are several TV's over the bar showing various sports. And 70's, 80's and 90's music playing in the background. All in all, it was a very enjoyable lunch.

Rams Head Southernmost is a fantastic spot for breakfast in Key West, offering a relaxed outdoor seating area and a smaller, cozy indoor space. The vibe is laid-back and welcoming—perfect for starting your day in paradise. I ordered the seafood omelette, and it did not disappoint. It was loaded with lobster, crab, and shrimp, and topped with a delicious Key lime hollandaise that tied everything together beautifully. You could really taste the freshness of the seafood in every bite. The food came out quickly, and it was clear the staff works hard to keep things running smoothly and make guests feel taken care of. If you’re looking for a tasty, satisfying meal with great service in a breezy setting, I highly recommend Rams Head Southernmost. A definite must-visit when in Key West!

We tried this place on our visit to Key West. It was storming pretty heavy, but the outdoor area was well covered and the rain added a nice ambiance. There were chickens running around that we really enjoyed, but we're RUDE! 😂 We started with some Conch Fritters, a Watermelon Mojito and a Strawberry Daquari. For our Mains, I ordered the Cuban Sandwich and She ordered the Fish Tacos. This is where the chickens became rude... They hoped on our table shortly after I took our food photos and stole the top of the bread from one of my sandwich halves and a piece of fish right out of her tacos! The waitress was quick to apologize and although we said it wasn't an issue, she brought us out whole new orders! We just chalked it up to our own carelessness in guarding our lunch, but the extra food was much appreciated! We would love to return during a sunny dry day and try some of the other tasty looking items on the menu our next time we're down here!

If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to mainline gasoline in slushy form, welcome to Fat Tuesday Key West. The 190 Octane (153 proof grain alcohol + orange punch) is basically jet fuel with a citrus twist — I’m 90% sure my rental scooter ran better after I spilled some on it. The flavors here range from “fun beach vacation” (Piña Colada) to “pray for my liver” (Cat 5 Hurricane) to “this is how Florida Man is born” (Mardi Gras Mash with bourbon + triple sec). You can even get a 128oz gallon to go — because nothing says “responsible tourist” like walking down Duval Street with a jug of neon alcohol that could double as antifreeze. I got the Souvenir Squeeze Bottle thinking it was cute. Turns out, it’s basically a lifetime commitment — you’ll be refilling it until your doctor writes you a letter. Also, big respect to the Skinny Watermelon Daiquiri: same 153-proof grain alcohol, just “half the calories.” Because obviously the calories were the dangerous part. By the time I mixed 190 Octane Blue Raspberry with Mango Tango and topped it with Spicy Margarita, I’m pretty sure I accidentally discovered the cure for jet lag — or possibly astral projected into Jimmy Buffett’s backyard. Pro tip: Hydrate, wear sunglasses, and maybe text your mom before your third refill, because after that it’s anybody’s guess what your night (or your Instagram stories) will look like. Would I come back? Yes. Should you? Only if your insurance is paid up. 🍹🌴 #FrozenDecisions #DuvalStreetScience

If you are visiting in Key West – Hog’s Breath Saloon should be put in your itinerary of places to visit. I have been here at least a dozen or so more times. It is completely laid back, away from all the craziness on Duval Street. When you walk in it is completely unpretentious but full of personality. Just cold beer , strong drinks and live music. Food Wise, it is what you what expect, Bar Type Food – all good. Hog’s Breath Saloon has a nice outdoor area that is where you will find Local Bands performing. The Gift Shop has all the Fun Touristy Clothing you can purchase. Hog’s Breath isn’t trying to impress anyone, and that’s exactly why it does. It has that authentic, no-frills character that is increasingly rare—and in Key West, it fits right in. This place has been in business since the late 1980’s, and there is a reason for that.

A Tiny Bar with a Big Personality – The Smallest Bar in Key West, FL Tucked between two buildings on Duval Street, The Smallest Bar in Key West lives up to its name — and yet, it delivers a full-sized experience packed with charm, character, and good times. It’s not just a quirky novelty; it’s a genuinely fun place to stop for a drink and a laugh while exploring Old Town. There’s barely room for more than a few people inside (literally, it’s about the size of a walk-in closet), but that’s part of the fun. The bartender is usually just steps away from everyone, and the atmosphere is light, friendly, and inviting — the kind of place where you’ll end up chatting with strangers and maybe even making a few new friends. The drink menu is simple but solid. They’ve got all the essentials — ice-cold beers, margaritas, mojitos, and classic tropical cocktails served with a smile. It’s a great place for a quick refreshment while bar hopping down Duval or waiting for sunset at Mallory Square. There’s also something undeniably Key West about this place. It’s laid-back, a little offbeat, and full of character — a perfect reflection of the island’s quirky charm. It may be small in size, but it’s huge in personality.

We stop by for a quick drink and a small bite since we were walking in Key West for few hours visiting sites and enjoying shopping around. First thing as soon as we entered Simon greeted us with a cheerful smile within seconds , attended us with all our needs ,gave us good recommendations on the menu . We wanted to try the pickle vodka shots which the house produce as their signature item . It was so good , we purchased few bottles as a gift for friends... In the evening there is no single empty spot - so busy and popular, so make sure you come in the afternoon when is less people or make reservations in advance .

Ok so my husband and I only had 5 hours in key west. We decided to go on a bartender recommendation tour… going anywhere each bartender gave us. Pickles pub was the 4th stop. ALL were great BUT PP is the only one we’re taking the time to review. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, try the pickle margarita. If “backwards hat Mike” is working, ask for a wing recommendation. He gave us two recs and both were amazing and he gave us a half order of each which was perfect. Second time in KW and this is in our top 3. We will be back.

Everything was great. Service was really fast and the good were great. For being a fan of the late Jimmy Buffet, this was my first time visiting this wonderful restaurant. Love the scenery. Was able to take a couple pictures of my food and the roof.

The original Margaritaville. Great place. Nice aesthetics. We went in around 2pm. Our server was great. He came back checking on us periodically and was friendly. I only had water and my wife had the blackberry margarita. She said it was really good. Highly recommend.

Great bar great music! I don’t know if the hotdog stand is always outside, but I had an amazing bra from there as well!

The bartender ( tall bald guy ) was rude to begin with. It was a quiet night , no customers at the bar when we walked in. He claimed he was pouring a double ( a splash of alcohol) then he said he saved us 16 dollars as he was putting his 2 $ tip in his tip jar after we paid 16$ for 2 glasses of soda! This joker needs to find another job. I’ve always had great service on the second floor until tonight. Tyler was great and the gal that works only Saturday (Laura?) was also great

Local here. Had to go to Rick's for a friend's birthday celebration. Drinks were a joke. Literally a full cup of ice with a splash of alcohol. I can't understand why people would go there. There are so many other choices nearby. Thankfully I won't have to go back.

I loved this place. Across from the much more crowded Sloppy Joe's, it was very chill, with great live music. The bartender, Sage, was one of the best I've seen. Handles big crowds on her own with a smile and efficiency.

If you’re afraid of birds, this may not be the place for you. (There once was a pigeon named Clint…) For pretty much anyone else this is a nice stop on your Key West visit. Said accompanied me on my continuing journey to visit every brewery in Florida. About 100 down and another 150 to go. This place is mostly restaurant, a good beer list made on site and a large game room to entertain the kids while you sip your libations. The beer was good, I focused on Hazy IPAs and they were just fine, 3 1/2 to four stars out of five (Untapped for good accurate beer reviews), keeping in mind that I drink a lot of beer. There was absolutely nothing wrong with the beers, but my five stars are reserved for the ones that give me cartoon wide eyes. The food and the location are the primary stars of the show. The Roast Beef and Grilled Cheese Sammy was good, but nothing mind blowing. The Brewer’s Chicken Sammy, however, was flavorful, moist and about the size of my open hand. This was an excellent sandwich and, frankly, Sydney and I should have shared this one. In the back, they have a fairly robust and modern game room for kids and kids at heart to enjoy. We were visiting on a cruise stop and I had another brewery to hit, so we had lunch and two beers before heading onward. I would absolutely recommend this as a stop for lunch for any beer snobs or a quick family stop.

A very crowdy place right on the shore, which give you a nice vibe in the moment you cross the entrance. It has good food with normal portions, we had fish and chips and 2 x catch of the day, the IPA beer is also really tasty. You have for entertaiment a room with arcade games there too. So, enjoy!

A pleasant surprise! Most nudist places are exclusively seniors and men. The crowd was a great mix of guys, women, and couples. It was very fun loving, casual, and accepting to anyone who came in clothed or not. It was so exhilarating to enjoy a beer nude on a rooftop bar in Key West. How often do you get to do that! Highly recommend the experience!

The Bull, the Whisle, and the Garden of Eden is a three story bar on Duval St. A tourist destination in Key West with an old-school style, it offers a different vibe on each floor. Open rooftop bar has a DJ and loud music on a large dance floor. Simple digs until the crowd makes it colorful. Don't forget that dresscode is clothing optional for all ages! Awkward for some and freedom for others, regardless of your option. Great view of Downtown from above

Such a great place to go and relax and also have a good night out in town. From karaoke nights to private dancing places by the pool. I really was able to party, relax, recuperate and do it all over again. Recommended to go on low season if you want to enjoy the views, streets, markets and so on. Otherwise expect big masses of people shopping and I have been there at different times of the year so believe me there is a big difference and a time for everyone. The staff is very attentive and their rooms are very clean. I loved it 😍.

The place was a little dead but it was Thursday night. It was my husband and I, a few older guys, and a vip group. Most of the girls were in the vip group as my husband and I were tipping stage dancers. Not to bad considering I got a free T-shirt and glow accessories to play around with. We did go blue diamond experience with New York and it was amazing. Definitely recommend. Will be back tomorrow Friday night for the champagne room, As it will be our last night on the island! 🏝️🏝️🏝️

First time /last time! Atmosphere was what you would expect, music on point, variety of dancers, 1 really stood out beautiful blonde, talked to her short while ,. The bartender believe I heard her name mentioned as Nora, she is a miserable person, rude unfriendly and basically mean. Not sure if she hates her job / life or is just miserable Either way made me want to leave after dealing with her.

So honestly after going here I will say I was a bit overthrown by the “quality” of the girls that worked there, but there’s this new dancer who just started working here from red garter. She had short red hair & tattoos. Very sexy! She was so nice and sweet personality. She didn’t make the experience pushy at all! She enjoyed talking with me and my friends and didn’t push for dances right off the bat! Honestly this dancer made everything about this place worth it for me. I wish I could remember her name!! But if you see a cute red head with short hair and tattoos on her arms and back, GET SEVERAL DANCES from her!!!! I don’t think I’ve ever had a better lap dance!

I went here with a few of my friends and the ladies were amazing and overall had a great time but there was this incredibly rude security guy. My friends came all the way from Texas to be cursed at and disrespected by this man. We couldn’t get his name but he was a big muscular blonde guy. Seriously don’t come here if you want to spoil your evening and the people in charge should look into this guy and consider firing him.
