This was our first time visiting a speakeasy and it was such a lovely experience. The atmosphere was warm and laid back while still feeling elegant and elevated. The drinks were unique and delicious. We also loved the small details that made it memorable, especially the telephone and the secret entrance which added a fun touch to the night.

Fantastic vibe!! I went initially for the horror film night and ended up coming by again the next day (I accidentally forgot a shirt that they thankfully let me come back to get) and ended up staying for a few drinks again during the pong night! I definitely plan to come back again when I am in the area!

Had the pleasure of attending a comedy show for the first time this past Saturday. I can say, it did not disappoint. The comedy line up was great, the owners and staff were wonderful, and its just a great vibe. Parking is no nonsense, and plenty of it. What a great way to have some fun, drinks, and food and not break the bank. We will definitely be returning again. Thanks for a fun night!

If Boise had a crown jewel for timeless conversation and unbeatable hospitality, the Cactus Bar would be it, and the legendary Tapster Cody is its shining star. Whether stepping inside for a cold beer or a tailored cocktail, the first thing that greets any guest is not just the classic dive bar ambiance, but Cody’s remarkable warmth and razor-sharp wit, curating each visit into a memorable gathering. Atmosphere and Vibe: There’s a magic to this place: laughter resonates louder than the jukebox, and strangers become friends before the ice melts in your glass. The crowd is as diverse as Boise itself, business travelers, college regulars, die-hard locals; all drawn by the magnetic spirit Cody brings behind the bar. Cody’s Conversation and Service: Every pour, every story, every quick aside from Cody elevates a simple drink into an experience worth writing home about. Whether you’re seeking philosophical musings, local recommendations, or just the comfort of genuine connection, he delivers with an effortless blend of wisdom and approachability. His masterful service means glasses are always full and smiles are guaranteed. Standout Details • Drinks are cheap, and great, but the camaraderie is priceless. • The patio buzzes with animated conversations on summer evenings, and inside it’s cozy no matter the season. • Cody’s banter will turn a rough day around; he makes every patron feel not just welcome, but at home. Final Thought For anyone seeking the finest drink in Boise, choose the Cactus Bar not for the price, but because there’s nowhere else a soul can get such great conversation and extraordinary customer service, especially from Cody; the true heart of Boise’s classic nightlife!! Thanks, Cody

Bittercreek Alehouse 4.5 (2,825)

Eco-conscious alehouse serving a wide range of draft microbrews alongside locally sourced pub fare.

Bittercreek Alehouse gets shocking stellar reviews. But it's just not a great restaurant. It's located in a popular tourist area and it's relatively easy to find a table. But the food is quite a letdown. The poutine features a very heavy gravy that is too overpowering, not to mention lacking the authenticity of a good Canadian poutine. The only redeeming quality were the cheese curds. The fries were tasteless and extremely disappointing for a region that prides themselves on potatoes. And while the burgers are incredibly creative, they lack quality.

Brian53 months ago

Dropped into Bittercreek Alehouse for a cheeseburger and it was fantastic! Perfect cook on the burger, toasted bun, Lettuce, Tomato and Onion fresh, clean, and crisp. This burger was delicious. Solid beer / wine / cocktail selections and overall cleanliness was on point (Read outdoor tables were clean / not sticky, and I always appreciate a cloth napkin). Stopped here for drinks twice and lunch once. I mention this because I would really like to foot-stomp the 10-star customer service. Our water Samuel was welcoming, courteous and took exceptional care of us during lunch. Also, during our other evening ‘hydrating’ stops, the rest of the staff was also extremely friendly and welcoming across the board. Holding doors, quickly grabbing condiments, transferring a check to the bar without asking us to close out and reopen our tab (hate that), not rushing customers – just an overall great experience. Definitely recommend. Thank you, Samuel, Gretchen and the overall Bittercreek team! See you soon.

The Mode is a bar located in downtown Boise, Idaho. The have various drink options, and they are surrounded by other bars, clubs, and restaurants. Indoor and outdoor seating are available, as well as restrooms, and the interior was very nicely decorated. The staff were very helpful. We entered and were told we could choose our seating, then were provided with drink menus. We sat, reviewed the menus and had an employee come to us to take our order. They had unique options, such as my fiance's order of a Japanese Lager, as well as various wines, and more common options of an amaretto sour. When I asked about a couple of the wine options, the server actually provided me with three different shot glasses of wine to sample before I decided on a full glass. The Lager was not my preference, but my fiance seemed to like it, and my friend's amaretto sour was delicious! My wine was also quite good. We sat outdoors and, overall, had a lovely patio experience.

JoAnna D34 months ago

We live by downtown and had just had lunch when we decided to try Mode for the first time. While by fiancé, went to have a cigarette, I went walked in with my service dog who has her vest and patches on her. The woman bartender looked at me with a condescending look and said in a snarky tone that dogs were not allowed unless it’s a service dog. My dog was clearly marked as a service dog and I responded back as u can clearly see she is a service dog. She did not apologize for her rude behavior and I do not understand why she had to have an attitude and a condescending tone with me to begin with. I decided to go sit out on the patio to avoid interacting with the rude bartender. A different lady came over to take my order. She was a very nice lady who even offered my SD a dog treat and a bowl of water. We ordered the MANGO TANGO, and DAIQUIRI. I have mixed feelings about my experience.

So excited that Boise has a new rooftop bar, and not just any rooftop bar, a rooftop bar run by the coolest kids in town, Treefort/Duck Club! They know how to throw a party, give great service, and bring in the best shows around so it's not surprising their bar ROCKS! The cocktail menu is eclectic and creative, their beer and cider list is mostly great local brews, their wine list is perfection, and the atmosphere inside and out is fantastic. Go for the cocktails and views, stay for the music and giant half disco ball on the ground you can spin with your feet!

We went to this for our buddies bachelor party. The service was very nice. The staff was fun and engaging. The acting was well played and they interacted with the crowd throughout the entire night. There was so much going on as some of the characters were sitting at tables with people and walking around the room, that I had my head on a swivel the entire time. The food was great. And the drinks were delicious. The main man himself walked around and checked on the guests as well. I highly recommend.

We came to Liquid last year to chill for my son's 21st birthday. Tonight we came to chill for our daughter's 21st birthday. We came in around 10:30. The vibe was easy going. It's wasn't overly crowded yet. Everyone there was just hanging out and enjoying the scene. The bartender that helped us tonight was really nice. We started a tab and got some drinks started. I have had obscene amounts charged on my card before from the bartender not being attentive with which card was charged. I appreciate that this bartender was careful and reassuring me that it was my card that was being charged. That showed me that he was careful with other tabs as well. We ordered a few drinks. Washington apple shots, Captain and cokes, dirty Shirleys. Each one of the drinks were not lacking in the alcohol department. You're getting your money's worth in your drink. The pool tables are always busy. We played a couple rounds. Mario Kart is always a win. And watching buzzed people punch the punching bag is always entertaining. If you're looking for a cool spot to kick it, Liquid is your joint. Music is loud, the games are fun and the drinks are good. We had a great time kicking it with our daughter at Liquid tonight. I'm sure she will be back to enjoy the vibe. Us old folks will just hear about it the next day.

Nice rooftop patio in downtown Boise. This is a cocktail bar and lounge so they only have a limited food selection. The service was good with someone always around to get drinks. Two out of our three food options were really good, the third was very bland. We got drinks and food on a 95° day and they have shaded or sunny areas with misters. The east facing views are the best, as the south only views buildings and tree tops.

Honestly, it's a really great place. I went in with low expectations. It's a small bar that's been around for a long time. The staff was friendly and engaging. They treat you as a person and individual and are melanin friendly. The atmosphere was vibrant and relaxing. Everyone seemed to be having fun and a good time. They offer karaoke to customers and have a decent sound system. Parking is limited. Drinks are cheap. Cash only so plan accordingly, but they do have an ATM if you need access to one. 10/10 would recommend

We booked a private party with Amsterdam last night for our wedding after party. Our best man continually had to kick people out of the private space we had rented. When we asked management (Ethan) if they could keep a closer eye on who got back there so we didn’t have to worry about it on our wedding night. Ethan’s answer was “Well you didn’t pay for extra security so it’s too bad”. When my husband (because it was our WEDDING!!) was getting upset and asking why that option was never presented to him, Ethan said “I’m done talking to you” and walked away. Keep in mind we put money down on the bar and purchased a $500 bottle of champagne we never got. I was so disappointed and it ruined our after party as we soon left because of how we were treated by management. Our server, Maya, stated she was shocked at how we were treated by Ethan as well. Maya was absolutely awesome and we greatly appreciated her service and how she treated us. As someone who is in customer service I was beyond baffled by how we were treated by management specifically. I have left very few reviews in my life but last night warranted a response. I will never recommend this establishment to anyone.

Too early for check in at hotel, saw bar across the street went in to kill time. Three people working: 2 women working decorating the place they were friendly greeted me when I walked in. Went to bar ordered a beer the bartender was very discourteous. I attempted to be friendly, asked if she was from Idaho, she couldn't even be bothered to answer aside from just shaking her head 'no'.
