This brewery is definitely worth visiting. Nice patio outdoors as well as nicely cooled area indoors. Visited on a Saturday between 2PM and 5PM and there were a lot of people here. Got a flight of four 5oz pours with a few additional drafts after that. The Guava Gose Smack and Brown Amber Ale were the best drafts in my opinion.
Great place to get a delicious tasty beer. Our first time there and it was a great experience. Shawn the beertender was very helpful on informing us about the beer and place. They had a really good sout beer and stout also . And they have delicious pickle beer yes PICKLE BEER and it was good.. they have a lot of events from we saw. They have a big space also. Definitely will be stopping by again when we go back to visit
We went for an early dinner and drinks, this place was very fun. The food and cocktails were well thought out and prepared amazingly. I wasn't expecting the food and drinks to be so elevated, it was a surprise in the best way. Our server was fantastic. He was friendly, knowledgeable of the menu, and efficient. The vibe is really cool here. The bathroom was very clean and the decor is clean with some neat Lovecraft images mixed in.
Although I’m admittedly not a big drinker, Miskatonic has consistently been one of our go-to restaurant spots when we’re in the Naperville area. My husband is always like a kid in a candy store with a list of different beers he’s excited to try, and I always look forward to exploring new dishes on the menu. And while I leave with doggie bags with leftovers, he typically leaves with new cases of beer as his “doggie bags.” Even my picky eater of a son loves their kids meal options, so there is truly something for everyone here! It’s a relaxed environment, and we’ve always experienced great customer service from the staff. All are welcomed in this truly unique spot, and we will definitely be back again soon!
Relaxed space with exposed brick walls offering creative burgers & lots of craft beers on tap.
Had to try Naperville’s best rated burger! Went Sunday afternoon about 5pm. Found parking out in front and found seats inside right away. The place was bustling with happy customers. We ordered the spinach and artichoke dip for an appetizer. The dip was delicious! Enough for 4 to share, and not get too full before the main course. I ordered the Bourbon Pear Burger, with a salad. The burger did not disappoint. Salad was great too. One person in our party said he always orders salad here, they are his favorite. There are several choices on how to have your burger served. From what I remember you can have a plain bun, wheat bun, pretzel roll, lettuce wrap, or even as a burger bowl. The menu offers several choices for burger toppings as well. They have other protein options on the menu, in case burgers are not your thing. Definitely a place I’ll have to dine at again!
All I can say is wow. Amazing burger. Perfectly cooked to order. Medium rare. Crispy bacon. Cheddar cheese. Tatar tots. Will definitely recommend and will be back to try more from the menu.
First time visiting Naperville. Had to visit The Can. Owners Matt and Sandy are awesome hosts. Gave me a tour of the bar and history. Can't wait for my next visit. Thanks for making my trip memorable.
This place is one of my favorite places to go. Especially on Thursdays for my Weekly Date Night with the hubby! Thursday Night Blind Draw Dart Tournaments are a blast & They have the BEST bartenders, extremely efficient and kind. So many fun people around. You can bring your own food in. I can even play pool! The back patio is a great place to sit and chat on a beautiful night! The owner is always mingling with the crowd. Will that runs the Dart Tournaments sometimes treats us with his delicious smoked food. You can’t find that anywhere else. You should check it out!
Down-to-earth hangout offering brews, cocktails, billiard/pool tables & live rock bands.
If you enjoy a good dive bar you have to check this place out. They have a pool table, jukebox, and cheap beer. I dont think they have a kitchen but they cut a hole in the wall to next door where there is a pizza by the slice place. what more could you ask for.
If you want to wait an hour to use the bathroom cause everyone and there mother is doing coke sure this is your bar. Not sure how this bar is still around or passes code.
Trendy bar with upscale pub food & a massive beer list that showcases local breweries.
The food I was excellent. I love the duck nachos. Ordered the rigatoni for dinner. Matt, our server, was attentive, quick, and made sure we had everything we could possibly need. Would recommend him and we will definitely return!
I had a delicious dinner at the bar with wonderful service from Tonya (sp?) I had the “Nashville Hot” chicken wrap with a side salad and everything tasted very fresh. I usually get a Buffalo style wrap as my go-to, and this was pretty good. Cool place with a huge selection of beer. If I didn’t drive there I would have been able to review more of those beers. Maybe next time.
Upbeat grill chain with American grub, martinis & microbrews, plus happy-hour deals.
We visited Bar Louie in Naperville late at night, around 10:45 pm, on a spontaneous outing with four people, and it turned out to be one of the best decisions of the evening. Even at that hour, the place had such a lively, welcoming atmosphere. Bar Louie offers both indoor and outdoor seating, and both areas are beautiful, clean, and thoughtfully organized. The outdoor patio has a relaxed vibe, while the inside is vibrant, with stylish décor, great lighting, and an overall fun yet comfortable environment. It’s definitely the kind of place that feels inviting whether you’re out for casual drinks or a longer night with friends. One of the highlights is absolutely the bar setup. It’s spacious, well-designed, and stocked with an impressive variety of cocktails, beers, and spirits. Their drink menu is huge, offering something for everyone—from classics to creative specialty cocktails. The bar itself just has that perfect nightlife energy where you want to sit, unwind, and enjoy. For food, we decided to order a variety of items to share: flatbreads, spinach dip, and wings. Everything came out fresh, hot, and packed with flavor. The flatbreads were crisp and well-balanced, the spinach dip was creamy and perfectly seasoned, and the wings were a total hit. The garlic parmesan wings in particular were unforgettable—crispy on the outside, juicy inside, and bursting with flavor. Easily some of the best wings we’ve had in a long time. What made the experience even better was the service. Our server, Elizabeth, went above and beyond—she was warm, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome. Even with it being late, she provided amazing service, making sure we were comfortable, our drinks were topped off, and everything came out just right. All in all, Bar Louie in Naperville is a fantastic spot if you’re looking for great food, a huge variety of drinks, and an atmosphere that balances lively energy with comfort. It’s perfect for late-night outings, casual hangouts, or even just grabbing a drink at the bar. Between the delicious food, standout wings, amazing drinks, and Elizabeth’s excellent service, our visit couldn’t have been better. Definitely a must-visit in Naperville if you want good times, good food, and a fun night out.
A friend and I were looking for a place to have dinner before a movie. We decided on Bar Louie hesitantly as several people had said horrible service. Boy am I glad we didn't listen! We were seated immediately with no wait. Jasmine came to get our drink order very quickly. She was fantastic! Quick service, checked back regularly and the food was delicious! Will definitely be going back!
Upscale, wood-trimmed tavern for classic Irish fare & bar bites, live music, pub quizzes & pints.
We had such a great lunch today thanks to our server, Kenny. He went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect and was hands down the nicest server we’ve had in a long time. Truly a breath of fresh air—his kindness and attention made the whole experience even better. We’ll definitely be back!
The restaurant is in nsperville downtown prime. The band 80s was good and keeping good momentum. Although crowded but manageable. They have a cigar room too.
Relaxed, lodge-chic chain serving global comfort fare, including stir-fries, pot roast & pastas.
For a Saturday night dinner, it was crazy busy there. Please do a reservation. We were seated late even with a reservation Aside from the busy, the food was great. Great drink selection. Everyone was happy with their selection. Also lots of choices for every palette. Kids menu is also available I'd definitely visit again. May try lunch this time.
Our server Jamie was very friendly, professional, and attentive. Rachel gave free Parmesan chips and dessert for my husband’s birthday. Food is delicious and made from scratch. Great experience overall
Waterfront bar with on-tap wines, plus charcuterie & other bites in cozy digs with outside tables.
Really cool place with a huge selection of wines. You get a card and can wander around tasting all kinds of wines by yourself, which is a lot of fun. Overall, the experience was great. The food during the business lunch was just okay in my opinion — not bad, but nothing special.
DO NOT SKIP THIS PLACE IF YOU DONT LIKE WINE. My wife and I came in for our anniversary, we are not wine drinkers but the menu piqued our interest and so we decided to stop in. I had the 8 oz hanger steak with twice fried potatoes and spinach, and my wife got the Lobster Gnocchi. The food was absolutely fabulous, my steak was cooked to perfection with a cool red center. The Lobster Gnocchi was great as well leaving my wife ecstatic about the large chunks of Lobster. We capped the meal with the Dirty Chai Creme brulée and this is actually the main reason we will be coming back. It was absolutely phenomenal and high recommended. The real true stars of the experience however were the staff, Especially Manager Kena who made us feel welcome and wished us a happy anniversary and went through how the entire wine experience goes, and also Mauricio who was very attentive even when the restaurant picked up in traffic we were kept with fresh drinks before we even knew we needed them. We will absolutely be returning thanks to Kena, Mauricio and the rest of the staff at Softy Four.
A globally inspired menu with artful plating in a modern, light-filled space offering city views.
Had a girl's night, and unfortunately things were not as good as we expected. It was a martini Thursday. The cucumber martini was refreshing. Our waitress, never introduced herself. I had to ask if she was or server for the night as well as her name, after reaching over us to pour water without excusing her reach. The temperature was very warm, so dress light. The music was actually very good that evening. Our food came out room temperature and not warm/ hot as expected(steak and burger). I had to remind the waitress of our side order and it came out after we were halfway done with our meal. I hoped to love this experience after reading many great reviews and seeing awesome photos of the food, but it didn't fall through. Unfortunately, we will not return. I do hope that there is proper hospitality training for the front of the house and wait staff. The front of the house sets the entire mood once walking in. A location may be gorgeous but if hospitality fails, it's a no return for me.
Highly recommend for a special dinner. Food is very creative and amazing. The views outside overlooking Downtown Naperville is so nice and pleasant. Mia, our server, provided some of (if not, THE) best service my partner and I have gotten at any restaurant. Our steak did arrive more done than what we had liked but they made us a new one with a few comps as an apology (which they didn’t had to but was highly appreciated!) The new steak we received can be best described by my girlfriend as “a caveman discovering fire for the first time,” it was that good.
Nothing special about this place. Food and service is ok. My biggest beef is that it is cash only. No credit cards. I did not see anywhere that this was cash only. Had to use up the last of my cash and go to the bank the next day. Good thing a couple of us split the bill or I would not have had enough cash. I wonder if they pay their taxes?!?!?
This is definitely a local joint. Old men sitting at the bar watching the game in a low lit setting. Though I also saw two different large families gather here amongst the many TVs playing different games. When you enter there is a strong smell of deep fryers. Though to me the smell was not that of freshly deep fried food, but of over used oil. This may just be due to the many years of frying this place has seen. It was in the twenties outside and we were cold at our booth so everyone had their coats on to be comfortable. The food was good. I had the Reuben with onion rings. The service suffered from the fact that the bar tender was also waiting on the tables. They did as well as they could.
Sprawling entertainment venue with a high-tech driving range & swanky lounge with drinks & games.
This place feels refreshing and is a fun spot to hang out with friends. The prices are reasonable overall. However, one downside is the $5 charge per person just to register as a new guest , even after paying for the bay, which felt a bit overpriced.
Such a great date activity we really enjoyed ourselves. Drinks and appetizers were so good. It was a Thursday and it was very busy so I recommend getting a reservation if you don’t you will be waiting for quite a while.
I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant in the past, which made me hesitant to return. However, I decided to give it another chance today, and I'm so glad I did! The service was excellent, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere was welcoming. It was a complete turnaround from my previous visit, and I truly appreciate the improvements. I will definitely be coming back! Excuse the picture of the plate, taking a photo with all the food on it is too main stream plus it looked too good to devote the 10 seconds of taking one once it was placed in front of me!
This place was amazing! Great staff, great food, great atmosphere. We had a large group with multiple separate checks. The manager worked with us to set up the reservation and ensure our group of nearly 40 people could accommodated. The food came out quickly, was excellent, everyone had their separate bills which were accurate! We do this often as we are a travel sports team and this by far was the best experience we've had. We will definitely come back when we travel this fall.
Casual hangout featuring craft beers, bar food & numerous flat-screens in a chill atmosphere.
The food was fire to be ranked as bar food. I went on a day where there was live UFC fighting happening so the atmosphere was noisy bringing excitement in the whole restaurant. They are open late on the weekends so it's definitely something to consider going too.
Came for the UFC Fight and Draft pick did not disappoint. Loved the service since we walked in. They got us seated right away, even though it was a extremely busy night, plus our server was on point.
Strip-mall tavern offering nachos, burgers & live music in easygoing surroundings.
Walking into Danny’s at 1pm and there’s no one there… oh no I thought but I’m here so I gave it ago. The sloppy Joe was away! Others in my party had wings and one of the burgers offered and all were very pleased with their meal. I recommend this restaurant.
I went there tonight for the first time as a lone female. My son wouldn’t let me play my music at home so I went out even though I was nervous about going somewhere alone. When I got there, there were a lot of people and it was loud. No problems though, there was a good vibe. I practiced alone on the pool table and a young gentleman was friendly, welcoming and respectful. Just a nice smile and friendly words. I sat next to another gentleman and we chatted a bit. The bartenders were wonderful. I plan to come back, alone.
Modern spot for elevated comfort fare, cocktails, wine & craft brews, plus a year-round roof deck.
The place has a wonderful vibe to it. The music and the ambience match. We sat in the open on a bright sunny evening. Service was fast and courteous. Drinks were great and I really enjoyed my chicken sandwich (photo). The others who had gone for some vegan sandwiches didn’t like it and found that to be bland. I am taking one star just because the vegan sandwich and the steel bowls in which the chips were served were not shiny clean. They seemed coated with dirt over time.
I had amazing cocktails at the Lombard location, so I came here with high expectations — but the cocktails at the Naperville spot were honestly just okay, which was a bit disappointing. The food was still great though, and the vibe was lovely with the open rooftop seating and occasional DJ playing music. It’s a fun place to hang out, but to be honest, I still prefer the Oakbrook location. Not sure if I’d come back here.
I scheduled the rage room and it was awesome. I took my daughter to let some “steam” out and it was so much fun. The establishment is under new management and they were very friendly. I think my daughter will be going every month now and a great place to hang out with friends and family!
We brought a small group of teenagers to use the rage room. They had a blast! There was a variety of items for them to destroy... and they did destroy it. My only caution- be prepared for the noise!
Family-friendly outpost with pour-your-own-beer taps, plus hearty American comfort & pub grub.
I’ve been here before and enjoyed it and came again when I was in town visiting. I love the tap wall and the ability to make your own flight with it. I ordered the steak fries - the fries were delicious but the steak was incredibly chewy even though I ordered it medium. I didn’t complain because it was still edible and I don’t like to waste food. My sisters ordered bowls and they both finished them off. I would definitely come again because it’s a fun place to go and we really loved our waiter CHASE, he had us laughing all night!
Went to Tapville Social in Naperville and tried the margarita flight, loved the strawberry basil and passion fruit flavors. The veggie burger was solid and had a tasty guac topping. Finished off with a dessert flight that hit the sweet spot. The self-pour tap wall is a fun touch, and the vibe is laid-back and lively. Perfect spot for hanging out with friends.
Draft beer, wings, tacos & other bar bites served in a game-day hangout with 20+ flat-screen TVs.
The food is always fresh and delicious. Chicken kebab was full of flavor and very appetizing. I will definitely come again.
Decent selection of beer and even had some ciders. Daily specials are nice. Good amount of TVs which allow for ease of watching the sports. Pulled pork sandwich had a great bbq flavor. Boneless wings are moist and delicious.
Bar with a large, catch-all American menu, sports on TV screens & a lineup of craft beers.
Sarah is the BEST ever!!! She is so kind and most Amazing! Will come back definitely! Thank you for the hospitality and the way you treat your clients! She will be the reason we come back! Can not say enough about the wings definitely some of the best we have tried...and we have tried so many in many different states.
Crosstown Pub has been one of my favorites. I've been coming here even before they were called this name. Unfortunately, the quality has changed and I was not too happy with my wings. The owner need to tell their cooks to remove the chicken feathers as much as they can because it's gross. See for yourself. Also, they only sprinkle the seasonings on one side of the chicken. Otherwise, once "I", the customer, have PLUCKED their chicken, the crunchiness and the tastiness is still good. And this is not the first time I've removed the feathers off of their chicken. Our waitress was attentive and our food got to us fast. I have to say though, we got there around 11:30is AM on a regular workday so people were still at work. So, because of this I think it may be time to find another pub with cleaner wings. And by the way, the feathers only becomes very visible on dry rubs. When you use liquid seasonings, however, you won't notice them but they are there!
The menu here is unreal. So creative, unique foods and cocktails. I got the elote dog with a side salad. So good. It was also really nice to sit by the big open window in the front and people watch. Service was great, I'll definitely be back!
I went to Hizemans this afternoon to celebrate a friend's birthday, and the server was amazing, but she was probably the only really good thing about the experience. The food had good flavor, but was a really small portion size for the price. I got the Philly sandwich. The biggest issue i had was my girlfriend and I both ordered the Space Jam drink, some of our friends were there before us and already had the drink so we tried their drink before ordering ours. We thought it was good so we ordered it as well. When we got our drinks, they tasted like Tequila and nothing like the drink our friends had. We told the server about it fairly quickly, she offered to remake it for us, but we declined because we didnt want it to come out the same way, she offered to get us something new so we both ordered Vodka + Redbull. We did not drink the 2 Space Jam drinks, and they just sat on the table for the remainder of our visit, when we got the check, the drinks were still on the check. We thought maybe she had forgotten to take them off, but we asked her and she said she did try to get them taken off but the manager wouldnt let her just because "we didn't like the drink" but again the drink was not a vodka drink or made incorrectly. My girlfriend and I both figured there was no point in talking to the manager if they were going to blame us for the drink, so we just paid for it and left, definitely left a bad taste in our mouth both from the drink and the way the situation was handled. If you go I would definitely recommend ordering a drink you know and not one of their specialty drinks because if they make it wrong they wont take it off your tab, and again portion sizes are just too small in my opinion for the price paid..
It’s pretty dang good. The drinks menu is fleshed out and gives tons of options for different flavor palettes and liquor preferences. My personal favorites are the gin based cocktails but their whiskey driven drinks are great as well. The interior atmosphere is great and fits well with the speakeasy vibe/concept. The low light and tasteful decor really drive this home. Lots of different kinds of seating available for reservation. The bartenders are super knowledgeable and can tell you anything about everything they have on the shelf. Apps, platters, and snacks can be a little pricey but do taste good.
TL;DR: Overall our experience was just ok. This was our first time in, so it was fun to try a different spot but we won't be back. Solid drinks, limited food menu, ok atmosphere. Pros: -Friendly, knowledgeable staff. -Great location and intimate atmosphere. -Our drinks were excellent and theres a lot of variety on the drink menu. -Prices were fair for the quality of mixers and alcohol. Cons -Not giving off speak easy vibes except for the fact that it's a private room. We were disappointed with this and hoped for more of a 20s feel. -It has a stale alcohol smell to it almost like a dive bar, which was off-putting. - Food was average. We had the pork belly bao and deviled eggs. We decided to pass on eating dinner there and went to another spot for our meal.
Vintage-style bar & eatery with a roof deck offering casual American fare, local bands & DJ shows.
Love this place. Food and beverages are overpriced and they can crank up the a/c more otherwise I absolutely love the vibe and the staff is friendly. Definitely a classier jazz club. Not your average nightclub at all. The place is filled with nostalgia. Highly recommend! Note: the cover charges can be a little steep. Paid $15 just the other week. Still though, 2+ hours of live music and dancing is worth it to me given the atmosphere.
Well, let's hold onto the memory. Naperville needs a Hey Nonni's like in Arlington Heights. Upscale, honors and supports musicians. I suspect after so many years the owner was burned out. I thank him for what used to be and hope he considers just speaking out on here so some have closure and he fades out in a way that honors how great this place was once upon a time. I wish the city could recruit the owner on hey nonni"s in Arlington Heights to connect to someone who may be interested in bringing a real live music venue to Naperville. Someone has to be out there wanting to bring an upscale experience that honors artists! Hey nonnis concept of memberships with first dibs on shows is fine to keep things stable. Or a promoter working with mason sabika or something! Fitzgerald partners with parkdistricts for jazz happy hour weekend shows. Maybe Fitzgeralds can sponsor events in Frankies space and organize the promotion communication. Ya know, my friend owns supperclubs in the city Supperclub and real Jazz Club. Maybe they know someone. I know it's such hard work!
Draft beer & margaritas plus classic American pub grub in a cozy spot with a big riverside patio.
Fantastic service and a friendly vibe! The staff is super attentive and makes you feel welcome. Food was delicious—especially the wings and burgers. Perfect spot to relax with friends. Will definitely be back!
A true bar. Affordable and tasty food. Friendly servers. A few tvs and a digital juke box. Ordered sliders, onion rings, and Chilli cheese Fries. Everything was good. The kitchen was opened late too, which was perfect after a night walk around town. Plenty of seating available too.
Hopping, bi-level Mexican restaurant & martini bar, with a spacious patio & regular live music.
Obviously not a gourmet extravaganza 😂 not sure what people in reviews expect. It’s a vibe place. Great live music, local folks enjoying drinks during warm evenings, eating finger food. We need more places like this 👍
I'd heard good things about Potter's Place and checked it out. From the moment we walked in, it was so loud we could barely hear ourselves think, let alone what the servers were saying! My dad had a decibel reader on his phone and checked how loud the place was (pic attached.) I understand that there were other people in the restaurant, but the music and TV didn't help. As far as the food, I got the signature Christmas Tree Burrito with shredded beef. For the price I would've liked it to have come with beans and rice, but maybe that's just Naperville pricing. Overall, it was an okay experience. Friendly staff and good food, but kind of pricey and definitely too loud.
Old-school tavern operating since 1966 offering burgers, beer & chili, with sports on TV.
Almost missed out on this place because of the construction but glad I stopped in for the famous lantern burger. It's on the edge of downtown Naperville so parking is easier than it looks at first. First off: very chill spot - which is unusual for natty Naperville. Basically an old school tavern, saw a bunch of well off looking guys day drinking; I was the only one ordering food at 2 in the afternoon 😅. They all seem to know each other which is quaint these days. The lantern burger was amazing! Bun seems store bought but the patty is the real deal - thick, juicy, well seasoned and cooked with a nice sear on. Easy in and out and not much more than Mickey D's. Will return.
Your favorite hometown place, even if this isn’t your home. If you’re local to Naperville, you already know about The Lantern. You’ve been there and will be there again. Great food, better people, incredible atmosphere. You feel it as soon as you walk in the door.
. I had the strangest experience here. I was kicked out because of a mix-up with someone else’s chicken tenders—they claimed I somehow ordered two of them, even though all I had were two drinks. Instead of clarifying the situation, the staff chose to remove me, which was embarrassing and completely unnecessary. I’ve never been treated this way anywhere else. If this is how they handle minor misunderstandings, I can’t recommend this place. There are plenty of spots that treat their customers with basic courtesy and respect.
Amazing bartender, she made us all unique and delicious drinks! We will definitely be going back.
