Sydney the bartender was amazing! I had an amazing experience thanks to the bartender! Not only were the drinks perfectly made, but the service was outstanding. They were friendly, attentive, and had great recommendations that really made the day great.

An Absolute Gem! My favorite pub, hands down. The atmosphere is always warm and welcoming, with just the right balance of lively energy and cozy charm. The staff are incredibly friendly and make you feel like a regular, even if it’s your first time. The drink selection is top-notch—whether you’re after a perfectly poured pint or a creative cocktail, they’ve got you covered. The food? Absolutely delicious. Every dish feels thoughtfully made, and there’s something for every craving. This place is the kind of spot you find once and keep coming back to. Highly recommend!

Service was excellent. The food was really good! The pricing of meals I feel was really good! I think a double cheeseburger was about $14 or $15? And it was big! Great specials! The BLT was big! I had the cheese steak with gyro chicken instead, and the chicken had great flavor! I really liked the pepperjack cheese sauce they make. And the side winders were seasoned and good! UPDATE been a while since i was last here. Their burgers are smash burgers, and really good. They changed their fries from sidewinders to fries that were thick, fluffy potato slices, which were really good! Had a bloody mary, they use zing zang for their tomato juice which I was perfectly fine with with their rail vodka. Had the monster burger, which is not on their menu. Was charged for the burger I originally ordered, which was cheaper than their monster burger. It was soooooo good! Their coleslaw had great fla or also!

Great little spot. Good vibe and good food. The menu is small and unfussy. I don't generally care for smash burgers as they tend to be overdone and dry but the smash burgers at The Bar are juicy and flavorful. I am officially hooked on the Onion Smash Burger. I have been there twice this week. 😃

Amazing experience at The Bar!! We were so impressed with the service and food, though we are huge fans of all the FnF joints in town. Kimmy was our server and welcomed us the minute we walked in and took great care of us, the wait for food was very short and the atmosphere was so much fun. If you do have to wait, it is well worth it! The pizza is a classic tavern style and so delicious, especially the hip-stir pizza. We will absolutely be back and be telling our friends to do the same!

We stopped here because we searched for a restaurant that serves pretzels. We wanted to eat light this afternoon. I ordered lettuce wraps and my sister ordered pretzels with homemade beer cheese dip. Our server was kind and attentive. The food was fresh, appealing and delicious.

The service was excellent! The food was alright. Nothing too special, this visit at least. This was our first visit here, so I won't judge the food in just 1 visit. It did take a while to get our food, but they gave us a discount and a free beer because of this. You can't beat that. I was not expecting it. I didn't really realize how long it was taking, but our server came out and explained, and offered the free drink. That was good enough for me. But then at the end of our meal he apologized again and gave us a discount on the food as well. Wow! That was really awesome of him! He receive a very big tip for that. Yes, enough to make up for the discount he gave us. Thanks! I will be back to try the food again.

Came here with dinner with my family to try something new, boy was it just that and unique!! The food items on the menu are very creative! Even the quesadillas are very creative options! The server was excellent and friendly the whole time! Even discussed food and restaurants in town after we finished! Was a neat place to hang out with very cool decorations! We all had a good time and enjoy all of our food choices! Everything was excellent and we will be back! Thanks for the great food and experience!

This weekend we visited Cliffs Dive Bar and Grill. Location feel - I loved how the location was set up with Nick knacks in the walls, to overhead lighting, and open so you can see all around. Customer service - Our waitress was terrific. Checked in on us often, always had a smile, and gave excellent suggestions. Food - The food is quite unusual spam and baloney in many dishes. I think “Dive Bar” :). I would have to say my favorites were the prime rib, pretzels with buffalo cheese sauce and potato chips with dip. Drinks - Drinks were happy hour when we visited and were buy one fry one. We enjoyed that ;).

Absolutely fantastic food and atmosphere. We showed up 15 minutes before the kitchen closed and the service was still fantastic! Simply couldn’t ask for better. A true must stop. The stout was great, what a find getting great food and local brew. We had the lasagna and pork chop. Recommend both.

A good spot while in Cedar rapids for business. Nice location and nice setup. Has a brewery next to it Wait time is not too long. In summer they have a good seating outside. The bar area is vibrant and nice. Tried few appetizers popcorn shrimp, their famous fish style nuggets breaded with Quaker Oats and the crab dip. Would definitely other main course next time I’m in town.

I went here with some friends for a puzzle night and we had a blast. The food was great, the drinks were even better, and the bar owner was a hoot. It may be a limited menu but just get the smash burger and I promise you'll be happy. Yum. The bar was pretty packed most of the night and there was only one bartender working for a few hours so be realistic about how long it's going to take to get your orders if that's the case. One person can only do so much! Service picked up significantly when the second bartender arrived, too. The facilities were clean, the acoustics weren't too loud like some dive bars can get, and did I mention the smash burgers? I will definitely be going here again.

Had an awesome experience at Bricks! Our server was fantastic—super friendly, attentive, and made us feel really welcome. The BBQ Smash Burger was absolutely delicious—perfectly cooked with great flavor—and the Lady Killer cocktail was just as impressive. You can tell a lot of care goes into both the food and the service here. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to.

Firstly, the wings here are AMAZING. Definitely underrated and the Thursday, all you can eat deals are a really good deal. My only complaint with this place is the volume of the music. It seems a lot louder than most places and makes it really hard to carry on a conversation with people you’re sitting next to as well as the person serving you. Other than that it’s a really cool vibe. Very friendly staff!

my daughter and i love this place! recently, it was her 6th birthday and i had inquired about hosting her party there. i was thinking it would be a bank breaking experience but was willing to pay what i needed to because she loves her old school games and with family and friends traveling from all over iowa for the party, we really liked the idea of being able to have fun things for the kids and adults as well as some drinks. i was absolutely shocked to find out to reserve tables for a party we did not have to pay ANYTHING. as a single mother, i was so grateful that a place like this would be so affordable. we placed an order for 3 pizzas before hand and then the guests could open tabs and order anything else they wanted food wise. the service (as always) was lovely. the manager is so sweet and let us know if we ran over our time that it was not a big deal as it wasn’t too busy. our food came out promptly and again AS ALWAYS was delicious. we brought cake and presents for my daughter to open which worked out perfectly. i had so many guests reach out afterwards and complimented the venue choice and said it was so much fun. thank you for providing that experience to my family and friends. i love this place and will continue to refer people to this absolute gem of an establishment in the CR scene.

Had a great time while visiting w/ my flt crew and other flt crew. There was mini golfing w/ a spinning wheel challenge per hole and there were some people even playing a couple of games of corn hole. Unfortunately we didn't get to play corn hole, it was a pretty popular commodity. Also, we weren't able to flag anyone down that were roaming in the golf carts which according to our CA during this visit provided foods/ snacks n possibly drinks to purchase 🤷🏻‍♀️. However..., I was able to try my first White Claw beverage, so there's that lol All in all had a great time and look forward to future visits during any of my layovers in the area.

There’s a bunch of Cuban girls who work there who need a phone to translate your conversation. They won’t leave you alone until you agree to a private dance, although one older girl actually told me “no private dancers” after some regular got jealous. This was after an initial conversation (using the phone) If you’re not a regular you’ll largely be ignored, even your money on the stage (the dances were pretty sporadic) will be ignored as they dance for people they know and skipped me. The private dances were not great, $30 for 1 song or $40 for 2. And a $10 cover charge on a Saturday nite. I’ve been to other strip clubs that are topless only, like Outer Limits on the North side of Des Moines and has a far better experience, particularly the private dances. But the fact that one girl would actually refuse a private dance is pretty wild. Like what’s the point of you being there?

Dances overpriced for what you get. Girls ignore anyone not a regular. Blonde bartender, looked like a dancer, charged me for neighbor at bar. Could easily have just said it was an honest mistake, but guess that was too hard. When I pointed out the mistake she just shrugged her shoulders and walked away. Finally got to a manager who threatened to kick me out for complaining, never raised my voice or swore. Will only be using cash when I go to any other club from now, not that woodys will ever get a penny from me again.

Henry Haas18 months ago

Management does not care what dancers do. Most dancers ignore customers unless your a regular ready to drop a 1000 plus don’t expect much for entertainment. A few freaky clown looking dancers with gauged ears and silly tattoos. With a few lizards crawling over from truck stop next door. One dancer even told me she doesn’t identify as a woman. If that’s not a sign not to be there, the white crust on the chairs are. Plus being patted down by an armed guard at the door when you pay. My guess to keep the dealer for the dancers safe. Music is largely Latin rap. In any other club you should have a better time and not leave disappointed.
