If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Our first experience here was incredible. My husband & I love trying new spots in Iowa City and this will definitely be one of our new favorites. Our food was delicious, wine selection was wonderful. Highly recommend saving room for dessert. Can’t wait to bring friends and family!

Had their caesar salad and it was SO good. The owners as well as the staff are so welcoming and knowledgeable. The restaurant is also GORGEOUS inside. If your in Iowa City, you should give it a try if you haven’t cause the food and service is phenomenal!

I love this bar and the owner but after these most recent hires i’ve had horrible experiences. There’s been multiple occasions where I come in and will wait five minutes or more to even be greeted. I work work in food service and can understand the demand and frustration. However, the service I received eight months ago is completely different to the present. there’s a clear difference and urgency based off, who you are when you come into this bar.

Visited for the my first time recently - fantastic spot and drinks! I tried a kombucha and a cocktail, both were very nice. Atmosphere was also lovely. Kind of place that you can gather with friends to hang or just read a book. Nice for a cold night. Note they also have games. Staff was also really friendly. I’ll be back!

I met up with som friends here for the first time and loved it! They don't sell food so be aware of that before you go. I wasn't aware and ordered a drink that was way too strong for me. But the space is lovely and they have games and cards so I visited for a bit, played a few hands of solitaire, and had an order of pretzels (the most food thing you can get there). I will definitely visit again!

Drinks where ok. Know for palet before ordering otherwise you prolly won't like what you get. However, great service and awesome atmosphere!

We had so much fun and left already talking about when we’ll be back. The drinks were spot-on every time—balanced, flavorful, and consistent. Not overly sweet or heavy-handed with the alcohol -A great drink isn’t about dumping half a bottle in; it’s about craft, and they nailed it. It's clear the bartenders here know what they're doing. Food-wise, we ordered the crab rangoon pizza, chicken strips, and a half order of nachos—yes, that photo you see is a HALF order! Everything was super tasty and such a great value. The chicken strips were definitely not from a bag—crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and paired with what tasted like a delicious homemade ranch. The pizza was something you'd expect from a high-end place, with a light, crispy crust and bold flavor. PRO TIP: Take advantage of their daily deals to save even more on already reasonable prices—total win-win. (We included a picture of the current specials.) After a few drinks and great food, we moved on to the games. The tap card system was super convenient—no need to carry cash or coins around, and it tracked our points as we played (we even redeemed some for a free drink!). I saw a review complaining about the switch from coins to cards, but honestly? Carrying around coins sounds super awkward. I'd much rather have a drink in hand than a bucket of tokens. 🍸 We spent hours gaming and didn’t feel overcharged at all. One golf game had us going for at least half an hour without reloading. We did have one game glitch, but the manager, Liz, handled it right away with a friendly attitude. She was great—constantly helping customers and clearly keeping the place running smoothly with a smile. Pro Tip: In any business, if something's off, just speak up. They can’t fix what they don’t know about. The mix of retro and modern games made it even better. Great Spot for Food, Drinks, and Games! Had to leave a review after a quick stop in for a casual night out—and I was pleasantly surprised. The drinks were well-made, crafted with great flavor. We had the chicken strips, which were not your typical bar chicken strips. They were clearly fresh, served hot and flavorful, with some seriously good ranch on the side. Liz was extremely helpful and attentive while serving both us and others at the bar. I couldn’t tell if she actually knew everyone personally or if she’s just that good at making people feel welcome. Most bars make you feel like a number—like they don't expect you back. But here, the vibe was different. The staff, especially Liz, genuinely seemed to enjoy what they do, and it showed in the service and attention to detail. As for the games—the card system was easy to use and way more convenient than dealing with tokens. Great mix of classics and newer games. We’ll definitely be back! But honestly, even if you don’t play the games, it’s still a great bar with a fun atmosphere and friendly staff—worth hanging out with friends for drinks alone. Planned on a one-time stop, but it turned into a new favorite.

They have great pinball and a bathroom with character.

Love of the Deadwood runs in the family. My dad loved it as much as I do. Great place to go grab a beer and play some pinball. Pool tables there as well. Great deals, great staff, and great crowd. Can’t ask for more.

Great neighborhood spot that’s been recently been updated with really nice furniture. Nice patio added and on both side.

Huge place. 2 outdoor patios. Good drinks. Kid friendly. Pickleball on the side. Could use more parking. Biker friendly. Not very many seats at the bar, but plenty of tables

Iowa City (Hilton)— W O W, what a great place. Looked out over the River and airport to countryside. Fantastic atmosphere, service to match both the atmosphere and the view, topped only by the food. We tried the Brussel sprout appetizer, they were fine but I’ll go with something else next time. Maybe because there were just the two of us and it’s a lot of appetizer. Carol got wild mushroom and rice, she loved it. I went with the NY Strip (cheddar mashed potatoes and steamed broccoli) the steak was SPOT ON PERFECT, broccoli was crisp, fresh, delicious. Potatoes were enough for two services, they were delicious. Waiter was attentive without hovering, this was a fair price point for the experience, definitely going back, definitely recommend- they will not disappoint. Parking was on street (free - we were after 6pm), and close (we parked by the Courthouse). There’s literally nothing to complain about or be disgruntled with. We had a great experience. Looks like they have some fun themed nights scheduled, a murder mystery, dueling pianos, check their website. This is an upscale restaurant/bar. However we did see some daisy dukes, a guy in a baseball cap, and a lady who appears to have came direct from the pool. The theme and vibe is dress up a bit folks!

Did our wedding anniversary dinner here, The waitress did a tremendous job taking care of us. Amazingly, two other couples with anniversaries on the same night! The new take on bruschrtta was very good. The drinks, tasty. The steak was done very close to perfect, and the chop was seasoned very well. We truly enjoyed the slice of cake for desert in honor of our anniversary. Only issue we had was there was the floor was definitely warm. Maintenance had been called but apparently this happens to 11th and 12th floors.

Like Manna from heaven with PBR on tap, I discovered the Dublin on my first day of what would become a 3 week work trip in Iowa City and it became my favorite bar in the Midwest. It’s the perfect combination of dive bar and the kind of Irish pub you’d see in Patriot Games. Nodo’s up top has great sandwiches which they’ll run bring down to you with the urgency of an organ transplant. This is important to remember as you might require their Life Flight services as I did several times. The staff is great. Mostly. Mr. Seth, Jackie, Danny, Trent, Rory, and Robyn, you guys are awesome. The regulars deserve their own shoutout as they are a bunch of rad, friendly people. Hope to see y’all again.

One of these best dive bars in Iowa City. Great game day atmosphere where all kinds are welcome and made comfortable. Good change of pace from the other “main/big” bars.

Joe's Place is a favorite destination for many people who want great food and drinks. I joined a group on the rooftop patio for an event in June 2023. Great service. Enjoyable venue.

It’s a place where you could spend your free afternoon with friends. Pool games, drinks, and finger foods! We can find these all here. The music selection is good - not too loud & not too slow. You do not need to shout when talking to friends. Nice place!

I LOVE STUDIO13. This place gave me the ability to truly find myself. I cannot thank the staff and performers enough!! Quick service, great people, a family like atmosphere, and most importantly a %100 safe space!! If you have any issues they will be resolved as quickly as possible by the bar staff!

Overall, fun entertaining experience. Lively and great mix of people. A little on the pricey side for drinks and one sketchy bartender in gray Calvin briefs upstairs likes to keep your cash hoping you’re drunk enough to forget change. Paying by card is the way to go. But he’d probably fill in your tip amount as well. drinks were also far more expensive by him than at the other two stations, again he’s pocketing the cash difference. The other two bar stations were staffed by professionals who were efficient and honest. I’m surprised that a bar of this size, quality and obvious investment by ownership puts up with that.

The atmosphere and music was so fun, however when I went to the bar the bartender was extremely rude and rolled her eyes at me for no reason. When she made my drink she added no liquor, then charged me 20 for a drink. I still tipped even though I shouldn’t have. I would not recommend going if you are black woman.

My problem was about the hour, it was supposed to open at 8, and ended opening at 9:30pm. We called beforehand to make sure the hours on Google were right, and they kept saying they opened at 8pm, also asked one of the bartenders, after we got in, and said the same, they opened at 8pm, it was a frustrating time. But besides that, the service is amazing, the place too, and the people are so respectful.

One of the best bars in Iowa City! They also have Happy Dad which is my favorite seltzer. 10/10 will be back!

Ahhh Summit, where do I start? Some of the best nights of my life were spent here. I will not stand for the Summit slander. From dollar drinks to bottle service to game days, Summit is the place to be. The punching bag, the Jungal, the Prettiest Girls in the World Live in Iowa City sign, and even the sticky floors make Summit unique and special and allow for some of the best experiences. Thank you Summit for all the memories and great times with my friends. I could add hundreds of photos and videos to this review, but I will spare Google from those atrocities. I will always recommend Summit to anybody visiting Iowa City, and I know I will be back for years to come. Thank you.
