Live music from jazz to rock, plus more than 40 beers, offered in a brick-lined, candle-lit space.
Great place to see live music! Table service for drinks and a friendly staff. Very good place to catch a lot of the popular local talent. Room to dance or you can sit back and chill. Only tricky part is if you play here, the load in can be difficult due to being on the second floor and the stairs you have to deal with. But the sound engineers are very friendly and work their magic. This is a cash only bar but they do have a cash machine on premises. Smoking area out back on the patio.
Want to have a good karaoke night? Do not come here. For what it is, it is not worth it. In order to get a chance to sing, you must tip the dj and even if you do, its not guarenteed that they will actually play the song. My friend and I would constantly tip the dj to queue our song and would be put after those who would just request the song and go on almost immediately. What makes it more frustrating is when the staff ended up doing their songs claiming that there was no one requesting. After the fact that my friend and I asked where was our song in the queue, which we were informed that it was not even in the queue to begin with. It very much felt like the dj did not care and would just take your money without doing their job. I find it absolutely ridiculous that you are paying a cover fee and have to pay to get a chance to sing. You are better off going to a different bar for karaoke like Replay.
This is a great place to hang out. Tons of regulars and karaoke on bith Mondays and Tursdays. Getting into it can sometimes be a nightmare though. Steep stairs and no wheelchair access. I've watched them have to physically walk overpoured patrons down the stairs. It is also a cash only bar. Biggest problem is that its a hit or miss if they are actually open, which in an area that every other establishment is a bar, is an issue. There are no food options but bringing in outside food is not an issue.
Love Jazzhaus, but the past few times I’ve come for karaoke they’ve closed at 1:30am instead of 2am. Kind of sucks when you pay to be in line to sing and the dj gives you a hard time about wanting the chance to sing 30 minutes before they’re ACTUALLY supposed to close. I just wish they would be more transparent about the fact that they are closing at 1:30am instead of 2am. Otherwise, nice staff, good and cheap drinks!
2nd floor LIVE music venue and bar. Some karaoke nights and sports watch parties. Dance floor. Steep stairs both in front on Mass and in the alley behind. Stationary tables/seats; may not accommodate larger patrons well. Dark interior. Eclectic decor. Decent adult beverages; free water in the back. NOT accessible venue.
