Our visit here was phenomenal! Aiden our mixologist did the DAMN THING with our cocktails!!!! We were ready for a great time. We appreciate exceptional service. Bravo to the owners for having outstanding staff and amazing cocktails. Definitely make a stop to enjoy cocktails and conversation.
Stopped by for a cocktail on date night. Loved the atmosphere, tasty and unique drinks and friendly staff! Overall a great experience and already planning our next visit!
What a hidden gem! Walking into the bar felt like stepping into a completely different world. The atmosphere? The bartenders? The drinks? All superb. My husband had some excellent whiskey while I was accommodated with an amazing mocktail. A definite need to go if you're in Louisville!
If you are looking for something a little offbeat, this is absolutely a must see and drink. Spirits menu is impressive and the cocktails were absolutely fantastic. Great vibe with a wide range of ages - 30's to 80's and everyone was having a great time. Take the elevator down to a really great spot!
Not just a hidden gem—this bar is a must-see, must-stop spot right in the heart of Louisville, where bourbon culture runs deep. The craft cocktails were among the best I’ve ever had: thoughtful, balanced, and made with care. The service was just as impressive—friendly, attentive, and genuine. What really set the experience apart, though, was the atmosphere. It’s the kind of place that feels cool enough to be a local staple, yet welcoming to anyone passing through. On top of that, I left not only with a great drink in hand but also grateful for the inspirational conversation I had while I was there. Whether you’re local or just visiting, this is one of those rare bars that gives you both an unforgettable drink and a memorable experience.
Hands-down one of the best bourbon bars I've ever been to! This place is a hidden gem for bourbon lovers. The selection is top-tier—everything from rare finds to classic favorites, all curated with care. But what truly sets this bar apart is the owner. Their passion, knowledge, and hospitality take the experience to another level. You don’t just get a drink here—you get a story, a recommendation tailored to your taste, and a warm welcome every time you walk through the door. Whether you're a bourbon aficionado or just bourbon-curious, this is the spot. Cozy atmosphere, great vibe, and hands-on service that makes you feel like part of the family. I’ll be back again and again.
The inside of the club has a very upscale look and great views however drinks didn’t taste regular, entertainers were overly aggressive, and prices weren’t adding up but if you’re looking to get a little extra attention I’m pretty sure this is the place.
This was a great environment. I had a blast. Everyone from the doorman to the bartender and dancers were amazing. VIP was over the top. I won’t go anywhere else.
Circa-1938 tavern with a wide beer list, Southern-style pub grub, vintage arcade games & live bands.
This place has been around for a long time serving cold drinks and pub food. I just went for the experience and a drink. It’s a cool bar with a nice patio and some cool, old school pinball machines. The service was attentive and friendly. They have live music too if that’s your thing. Regardless, it’s definitely worth checking out.
Good service, great food, and reasonable prices! I went for a concert and arrived about an hour before doors. They checked me in, gave me a wristband, and then I sat at the bar and had drinks and food before the show. The food was amazing, I had one of their specials and enjoyed it. The show itself was also great, the concert space was intimate but had nice sound and lights. I would definitely come back here! Parking could be a challenge, but if you arrive early enough you can park right outside.
Hip, laid-back hangout with imported beers, whiskey & a roomy, dog-friendly outdoor area.
Im not sure ill go back to this bar. Ive lived in the area since 2016 and Id visit once a week when im in town. Typically the crowd was friendly and they had occasions live bands. However on Sunday night, I found the crowd to be cliquish, unfriendly and distant... even had one guy (drunk and on drugs) threaten over a conflict i have nothing to do. I come out to enjoy a drink and listen to live music and not to meet with drug heads making threats he wont back up . I ironically recommend this place to a nice couple im in Chattanooga on vacation 2 weeks ago. No more. If you want divy with a friendly and open crowd... the Pearl or Haucks corner is the better bet.
Had the best time… the jukebox is legendary, had the best selection. Played cards and drank bourbon. Such a rad place and memorable experience.
Bustling spot for live music 6 nights a week including jazz & blues, as well as a full bar.
In Louisville for the weekend from Nashville I was excited to find a blues bar to listen to some live music for a Friday night. I was amazed how clean and comfortable Stevie Ray's is. I was very impressed. Great drinks and fun music acts for the evening. The crowd was also fun and ready for a good time.
Great joint with a good house band and other good bands playing. We were there every night of our stay. The staff and bartenders are superb and friendly. Had a great time! This is a must dropby, while on the bourbon trail 👣
Trendy whiskey/ cocktail bar with a very nice selection. Was able to find pours I've never tried before or are not in my collection. Based off what the bartenders were doing, it seems more people come here for cocktails than whiskey. Bartenders started cleaning up more than an hour before closing so we sat with an empty glasses a couple times. Definitely could have been more attentive.
We are in town for our anniversary and came across Seven. We were looking for a place to grab a cocktail before dinner and this fit the bill. The welcome was warm, to bourbon and old fashion were top notch, so much so, that we returned after our disastrous attempt at dinner elsewhere, to improve our night. Great atmosphere, excellent bourbon and staff is top notch. Highly recommend!
Dimly lit, speakeasy-style nightspot featuring unique cocktails & couch seating.
First time at Hell or High Water. Upon arrival my wife and I were met by “Security” honest to god we had initially thought it was a homeless fellas looking at ID’s and we were sketched out. Super nice gent nonetheless but the whole aspect wasn’t what we thought coming in. Maybe a little bit more proper indicating he’s “security” without looking like a random person off the streets. Girl toward the front was very sincere and well mattered when inquiring about reservations prior to letting us in to the area. At the Bar, we were met by a woman with darker hair in color, glasses and a tattoo on her right forearm. She greeted us but once I had mentioned we had an issue with security in reference to appearance. Her demeanor had changed which reflected through the night. Left a bitter taste to our mouths. There was a larger group of people on other side of the table that she gave more attention than us in the opposite end. Wife and I felt forgotten and displaced. We didn’t appreciate being dust left on a book shelf. Other women lighter hair in color almost ginger and I mean that in no disrespect. Very informative to the drink menu versus the other person. I liked that very much and made it worth it towards the end. The drinks are superb and enjoyable as well. Atmosphere wasn’t too loud with ambient music playing in the background either.
Great speak easy. Can be hard to find, pay attention to the address (I mean, speakeasies are supposed to be hard to find). Cool, dark vibe. Service was great. Only had enough time fkr 2 cocktails within the time limit, but they are worth it!
Lively dance club featuring drag performances, DJs & various events, plus VIP booths & tables.
A fantastic local queer club! Bartenders make some mean drinks, the Queens give some fierce performances, and the dance floor DJ is always bumping! Come one, come all!
I have yet to come, but my son has come and does open stage on Wednesday. You all have been very accepting of him. His stage name is Lacie Sparrow. When I do get to come, I will edit and add more They are very nice up here
Atmospheric sports bar with pub grub, a sizable beer list & a hidden dining area behind a bookcase.
Made reservations about a month ago. Think they would be able to put us somewhere better than right next to the server station. Arrived at 715 then seated. Asked if another seat was available anywhere, but was told not possible. Placed drink and app order about 15 minutes late. 20 for those to arrive, food order placed at that time. 20 minutes late did showed up. No additional contact except Bill on table about 10 minutes later. Food quality was horrid. Only finished a few bites. Pot roast was l drenched in a dark brown salt gravy the Mornay sauce on the hot brown was funky. Both meals left unfinished. Wife have back the few bites she ate in the ladies room. Luckily I have the intestinal fortitude of a yak. Even though almost full plates of food left when Bill was brought, I found it odd they never asked why, or if we wanted to take it with us.
Stopped in after a bourbon tour for some food. We got some insider tip information that this pub has a better hot brown than any place else in the city. Based on that fact alone we had to try it. We were not disappointed. The food was delivered quickly and the bartender was extremely nice. And the place had a really fun vibe. We will definitely stop here again.
High-energy regular live music shows in a popular bar chain featuring novelty bucket drinks.
Had an absolute blast at Howl at the Moon! The shots were great, and the bucket drinks were so much fun to share. We ended up staying for a while because the atmosphere was amazing and the band kept the energy high all night. Such a fun spot for a night out—I’ll definitely be back!
Not only the best Howl at the Moon ever, but possibly the best piano bar ever. We come to Louisville just for this place and the incredible musicians and staff who will dazzle you with their talent and service. This is a must do. Set aside 3-5 hours on Wednesday or a Saturday because it doesn’t matter the night, they just straight bring it! This is a random Wednesday night.
Stylish, industrial meets rustic venue with an expansive patio for Southern eats & full bar service.
The Hub moved since my earlier review. I have not had the food at the new location, but they hosted a drag show during Pride and it was a cool space. Has a nice dance floor and lights. (Old location) We went for brunch. I tried something new, the eggs in purgatory, and it was great. The nachos with vegan chorizo were the favorite appetizer. Fried pickles tasted like they were made with sweet pickles instead if dill, which was weirdly good. Would like sweet options on the brunch menu like french toast or cinnamon rolls.
I paid $20 for two tickets on Friday night, but honestly, it wasn’t worth it. The atmosphere and the design didn’t appeal to me at all. The way everything sounded just wasn’t my type, and overall, I didn’t enjoy the experience. The design aspect didn’t really matter in the end because the whole vibe just didn’t work for me.
Overall it was a mediocre experience. I would not waste my time visiting again. We were told the only seats were outdoors which was disappointing since we had wanted to take in the walls of bourbon that we had heard so much about. After we were seated, we found that there were seats inside that weren't reserved so that was frustrating. The DJ tried to have some upbeat music going, but it was entirely too loud for a Thursday night. The patio was filled with people trying to chat and catch up and the music made it impossible to interact without almost yelling. We shared a couple of appetizers and they were okay but nothing spectacular or outstanding. My boyfriend ending up getting horrific food poisoning from the pork meatballs. The mixed drinks were creative and were enjoyable. However, after our first round of drinks, things went downhill. Our waitress forgot our friends drink and said the bar was backed up but didn't seem to remember that he had ordered anything; also, I had gotten my second drink and my boyfriend had gotten his pour of bourbon (which he ordered after our friend had ordered). Our waitress seemed put out and irritated when we asked for the bourbon list (a book, in reality). I ordered a third drink to end the night and never received it. Our checks were brought and we were told to have a good night. We waited for a bit thinking the drink would come but never did (and yes, I was charged for it). We wandered inside to take in the Bourbon room before leaving and it was incredibly impressive and overwhelming.
We did not eat here- but honestly the bourbon room and bar was so incredibly overwhelming I’m not sure I could have eaten! The list of bourbons from all over the country was expansive. I was surprised both by what they offered- and what they did not offer. Regardless- it is located in a stunningly renovated church and has been decorated expertly. Although it was incredibly busy the night we visited I didn’t feel rushed. I’ll come back another night for a more relaxing visit. The prices were a little high- we paid $20 for an old fashioned that wasn’t anything special. I’ll give it another visit to make sure this place is everything I feel like it is.
Grown folk night spot (age 30 and over; R&B, Blues, Jazz, Soul, current Line Dance music, etc.) Wonderful top-shelf drinks; dance floor is huge, people were lots of fun around the Bar, DJ took requests (he has large repertoire of music). Food does not start cooking until 11 PM. Only negative - bar is cash only.
The people are not very friendly, the environment doesn't feel inviting but if you want hood that's the place to be. It's not for real grown ups or if you want to have some good fun, and good vibes that's not the place to be.
Pan-Latin small plates, plus mojitos & margaritas, in an eclectic space housing a vintage Plymouth.
We visited on a week night when there were only a few other tables. Unfortinately, service was still pretty slow. Our table shared an assortment of Tapas. The food came out as it was ready, which was great. However, the food was just alright. The meatballs were cold, the empanadas were more pastry than filling, and they were barely warm. The tacos and tamales each had a good portion size, but the flavors weren't for us. Overall, I found myself disappointed and left hungry. I may give this spot another try, but it will be a while.
I can't believe this place isn't on a wait. The food is delish. Atmosphere is nice. Fast service kitchen with a perfect Cuban, get the calamari and the plantains with the guacamole!
Airy, cowboy-themed bar & lounge with mechanical bull riding in modern digs with a lively ambiance.
Well...all the tables in this joint are " reserved". When I inquired when they may be opened up, the bartender said that they were " reserved for bottle service only". That puzzled me so I asked, how much is bottle service and was promptly told, " I dont have that info"...you gotta be kidding me! Anywho....bar has no seating and very limited outside seating. This is sad...the live band is playing to two bartenders and and in guy standing at the bar, because every seat is " reserved". Lets do math...reserved couch seats 10 folks and any good bar should turn that over at 35.00 per seat. They way I see it tonight....you must be raking it in on the weekend. 8 seperate seating areas empty....minus 10 guests at 35.00 each...wow..2800.00/hr on low end for DT Louisville...im sure my numbers are weak on per seat average, but was giving it a fair chance.
Cool place! Drinks were good, service was great, and they even have a bull you can ride. If you’re in downtown Louisville and tolerate country music, check it out!
I was introduced to The Palm Room about 2 months ago and when I tell you they don't miss there, they don't miss there. The food is always on point in my personal opinion and the service is top notch. It's genuinely a family environment. The drinks I tried where on point. It's also a night club as well but I haven't been to that portion of it yet. It's black owned and it really gives you a feeling of the black family reunion assuming you've been to one. I'm mixed with black and white and trust me there is a huge difference lol I highly highly highly recommend this spot.
My Mom and I popped by here as way to cap off a day of sightseeing and exploring on our weekend trip from IL. The food was delicious, as were the drinks, and Bree was kind and welcoming!
Classy setting for modern twists on American pub grub plus lots of bourbon selections & cocktails.
Great location in downtown Louisville and we were fortunate that we had good weather the patio was open and we were able to sit there because it's a nice place. The service was great and we had our dog (we knew the place was Fido-friendly) and they even brought a water bowl for him. We had appetizers and drinks, which came quickly. I was impressed by the serving size of the cheese curds-big-and the twist seasoning on the chips for my guac. I enjoyed the atmosphere of the patio and I would go back again for sure.
Bartenders were friendly, food and drinks were very good. Bar has a nice, relaxing vibe. I enjoyed the Ahi Tuna Poke taco, an old fashioned and a margarita.
I've honestly gone to better places with a funnier, more danceable selection of songs. Yes, the night was good but it wasn't because of the boring songs and the entertainment they offered to the young people. Honestly, I wouldn't pay $20 again to get in there. I know they can improve a lot...
This is for the club not the restaurant: Saw a show where doors were supposed to open at 6 and we didn't get inside the building until after 8, music didn't start til 2 hours late. I'm not sure that was entirely the venue's fault but no one would explain what was happening. The floors were really sticky and the bathroom stall door didn't lock.
