Prohibition-inspired haunt inside a historic 1881 building, featuring inventive craft cocktails.
Great bar behind the hotel with a private hotel entrance. Drinks are excellent. They had a bad when we were there. Highly recommend. Take a break from the craziness outside.
This is the place to be for live music from local musicians. They do not charge a cover which is fantastic. But it's great to tip the band and show your support that way. The cocktails they make here are very unique. And I had a great conversation with the bartender about how they keep pushing the envelope of different blends and tastes for their customers. Their menu of their mixed drinks is constantly evolving with new offerings. Went to see Marty Peters in the party meters and they did not disappoint. They are a premier jazz band.
Revered bar for craft cocktails with housemade ingredients in a cozy, brick space with a fireplace.
On my way to the French Market I just coincidentally saw this bar and almost passed it. I decided to give it a try after seeing the reviews on google. Good choice of cocktails and cheap prices compared to other cocktail bars. Could not complain about the quality of the drinks either. Had a nice chit chat with the bar keeper who was very friendly and helpful. I even returned two days later for more. Thumbs Up
If you're looking for fantastic cocktails in New Orleans without any fuss, Bar Tonique is your spot. This "hidden" gem, tucked away at the edge of the French Quarter, offers a surprisingly unique vibe you might not expect from the outside. It's all about the drinks here, and they're superb. The friendly bartender even crafted a custom drink for me, perfectly tailored to my taste, that wasn't even on the menu. Plus, he gave us some great recommendations for bars in New York, which was an unexpected bonus. The cocktails are delicious and come at very fair prices, especially for the quality. We loved it so much, we went two nights in a row! For great cocktails, good value, and an easy-going atmosphere, Bar Tonique is an absolute must-visit.
We were pulled in from the music from the sidewalk to meet Tarah at the bar who offered great convo and was genuinely interested in what we were up to. We got to leave our mark on the wall with a signature dollar. She also happened to rec the tattoo shop I was heading to later in the day ( Idle Hands Tattoo Parlor ) as she too had work done there. We went by the following day to say hi and show the ink work and she was so excited we had stopped by again. Love the vibe of the bar and her energy!
Stopped in for a cold drink. The bartender was very social and nice to talk to. The beer was a little flat. The bartender also shrieked and jumped at a rat that was behind the bar. She stated that she still wasn’t quite used to them being in the building.
Creative cocktails & craft beers are served in a glowing, brick-lined space with modern art.
It's one of the best bars on Bourbon Street! We had a blast watching the live band and plenty of drinks to choose from! The employees make this place what it is! "Harold" is by far the best employee of any business we ran across in all of NOLA! He was inviting, helpful, kind, informative, comical, interactive with the band and the crowd, and energetic! We felt in great hands with Harold and so impressed by his presence! Thank you, Harold, for a spectacular evening, and we fulfilled all your suggestions for food and great times in the area! What an asset to this establishment! The bar was full of a great staff, always busy, great live band, plenty of room for everybody! What an amazing establishment! Keep doing what you're doing, and the business will continue! The drinks were absolutely 💯 perfect on taste and presentation! Kudos to all, and we'll see you again!
One of the better places for beer on the street, large selection of Draft & bottles. Let you taste a couple of your not sure. NO flights unfortunately but understandably. Live music but just a touch loud ( I know I'm old) but once I'm a while I like to talk with those I'm with.
Refined, moody bar serving seasonal & classic cocktails, plus live entertainment most nights.
Had a great time! The bartenders( only two) were great and were handling the masses very well. I wish I asked our bar tenders name to give him a shout out (you had an orange vest on tonight! ) as he was great! Super friendly, the drinks were top notch! The live music was so much fun as well. I’m not into massive crowds of twerking so this place was great for me! Ha! Loved the “old” timey vibes!
Stayed at the hotel and went in for drinks and a quick bite. The wings and fries were awesome. The beer on tap was good. The bartender was great! She made good recommendations for beers and local favorite spots for music and food. The music at night was good local jazz. The drinks never stopped flowing. Definitely stop in for good service and cold drinks.
Walked in here cause of the name and was pleasantly surprised to find several local beers available (canned and on draft). There was not many people at that time of the day, but everyone seemed comfortable and enjoying themselves. It was nice to just recharge over a good beer after lots of walking. The bartender was friendly and helped answer some questions when ordering.
This place is such a fun vibe! Honestly so incredible the drink and service are amazing. The atmosphere is top tier and so much fun. Definitely recommend this place!
Outdoor hangout with a flaming fountain, connected to the bar that invented hurricane cocktails.
Came specifically for the Hurricane, was the best during my trip. Visited multiple times and enjoyed the scenery. Didn't order any food. Next time i will check out the food. Also i later learned of the entertainment. The outdoor garden is so beautiful day or night. Staff was pleasant and attentive. Do yourself a favor and get the originator of the Hurricane, cheers to Pat O'Brien's.
Pat O'Brien's was a super cute bar/restaurant. It's outdoors, but you have to walk into a cave-like area, and the vibes are great. Our group had already arrived before us, and when I came to sit down, the waitress was super nice and helped me pull up a chair. I didn't order anything, but the Bride ordered a drink, and it came super quick, and she said it tasted good, so that I will take her word for it.
This classic haunt at the Hotel Monteleone has a circular bar that revolves like a carousel.
Amazing atmosphere, great cocktails, and live music. Visited the carousel bar, which is first come first serve. The bar spins, which is so cool. Nestled inside of Hotel Monteleon. Had a Vieux Carre and a Sazerac. The servers were great. They maintained a keen eye throughout the night. The live entertainment made for an extra great night. This is unique experience to try at least once.see you soon.
The ambiance at the Carousel Bar is amazing unique and lively. The air conditioning is excellent, making it a comfortable spot to relax. The menu focuses mostly on cocktails, so it’s best for those looking for a good drink experience rather than a wide food selection.
Gay bar with a laid-back vibe, mahogany bar & a Victorian-styled upstairs with a balcony.
I’ve been coming to Good Friends for years, and it’s always been my favorite bar in New Orleans. The draw wasn’t just the atmosphere or the drink, it was the music and videos. This was the place where you could count on hearing a perfect blend of current hits alongside timeless classics, paired with fun and nostalgic videos that made every visit feel like a true New Orleans experience. Sadly, that has all changed. On recent visits, the heart of the bar has been replaced by nothing but relentless techno music. Instead of the joyful, diverse soundtrack that once defined the space, we’re now subjected to an endless stream of generic beats that feel completely disconnected from the bar’s spirit. The screens that once lit up the night with iconic videos now feel irrelevant, and with them, the energy and cultural vibrancy that made Good Friends so special has slipped away. This shift feels like a cultural oversight that robs patrons of what made this place unique. Countless loyal guests—myself included—are left disappointed and hopeless, wondering why management abandoned a formula that worked so well. In a city known for its music, where culture and community thrive on variety and connection, it’s disheartening to see Good Friends turn away from what made it beloved. Unless this changes, I fear many longtime supporters will start looking elsewhere for the kind of experience that Good Friends used to provide so effortlessly. The bartenders are perfect, but management is the worst. Booooo, tomato, tomato, tomato!
The Good Friends Bar is a great French Quarter drinking spot where almost anyone will feel comfortable. The drinks are reasonable and the service is prompt and friendly. The upstairs can be a bit loud for our taste but a lot of folks really like it that way. I have never seen food served in the but who knows.
When I tell you the stars aligned for my birthday. Man did they. I was looking for somewhere to just dance to deadmau5 type music and that's exactly what I got. From 10-12 it was banger after banger. After 12:30, the place started filling up and they just played dance music, which was still good. We had a great time. The outside area is definitely a vibe and drinks were good too. P.S. if you order a Paloma and you don't want Mescal, say "With Tequila" very loudly.
I was at The Rabbit Hole for the Clejan concert. I enjoyed myself so much. I did think 8 dollars was a bit much for a can of beer but whatever... staff was all very friendly and i loved how the outside was decorated. Lots of photo opportunities Great vibes.
Cajun & Zydeco bands provide the soundtrack in this lively gathering place with strong drinks.
From the moment we stepped into Tropical Isle, the vibe was so fun and welcoming. We tried the Hand Grenade and I highly recommend it. It was strong, tasty, and lived up to the hype. The staff were super friendly and the bartender gave us a little show which made the experience even better. Especially the Shark Attack drink. It was so cool. The whole presentation was fun and over the top in the best way. Definitely a must visit if you are in New Orleans.
Home of the world famous Hand Grenade, New Orleans most powerful drink! Tropical Isle Bayou Club is my most favorite spot on Bourbon street! My boyfriend and I love to grab a hand grenade and find a spot to sit a while and enjoy some of the best people watching in the world! and of couse the band that plays most everyday we've visited called the Hangovers. The band is so much fun they take requests and keep us singing and laughing along. The staff here is always nice and have great suggestions on other places to visit in the city. If the famous hand grenade is too much debauchery for your ideal night, Tropical Isle has a few other fun themed mixed drink options including a shark attack, Tropical itch etc listed and a full bar to find your favorite way to imbibe.
Great spot to play pool! Multiple tables. Plenty of room. Karaoke. Garage doors were open so you could enjoy what's going on outside as well. I'll definitely go again. I don't know if they serve food.
Just walking back to the hotel and decided to take a look. Made very welcome. Busy place with lots of people enjoying the music. Loved the place! Simple but great idea with the decor! It didn't go until noticed they played some English classics whilst we were there! Thankyou! X
Hangout with thumping music, rowdy crowds, a "fire fountain," & deals on Hurricanes & other drinks.
Overall I rate this 4 stars but with that being said it was some of the best entertainment on the street tonight. The bar didn’t know how to make some simple shots, but what they didn’t know was made up for with the amazing band that was playing. We sat for about 30 minutes enjoying the songs. Singing and having a good time.
Had an absolute blast here on a Tuesday night when the Phunkey Monkeys were playing. They played every song on point and their wide cast of talented performers is awesome!!! The patio is a nice breather away from the main stage. Drinks were reasonably priced and no cover at the time.
Dark & gritty dive bar revered for its late night hours & classic rock 'n' roll tunes since 1969.
The Dungeon is hands down my favorite bar in NOLA. The decor is awesome, the ambiance is great. There's an excellent selection of drinks. The entryway through the alley is really cool, and the bouncers are very friendly. Can't recommend this place enough if you are a fan of metal!
Very cool place to stop for a quick drink. Gotta walk thru a dark alley to get to their door. No photos allowed but I snagged one of the outside. The bar tender was nice. Very dark and laid back with Gothic style decor.
Rowdy hangout where party people dance, listen to live music & chill in the courtyard.
My overall experience was not the best, sadly. Was having fun at first, the host were lively and appreciated. We left out to get food, the food was not what I expected at all. The service was not great at all. Then, I tried to go in the bar for the second time, I was rejected because the security guard said I was hostile after showing him my ID. I was not hostile so I ignored him, he put his arm up to stop me from walking in and asked what my problem was. I did not have a problem so the tried to continue walking, he grabbed me and said “nah you’re cool.” I went to the next security guard to explain and he told me he was not allowed to override another security guard. This was very unfair as all my friends were allowed to go in besides me leaving me outside alone and uncomfortable, until my friends came back. He said they’re not hostile like you. I don’t know what could’ve been hostile about me, except for not wanting to tell this man my “problem”.
100% my recommend "club" to people on bourbon! im 20 and i got in so that was great, amazing music, dancing, food. they had a rentable charger so that was clutch. roaches in the bathroom but thats expected. it was packed on sunday night! can't wait for my 21st next year!☺️
Warehouse turned concert venue & club (Thursdays–Saturdays) with wooden beams & crystal chandeliers.
Beautiful venue. Had a good time for the Gregory VS Bell party. Drinks was $30 for a patron and pineapple double. 😮💨
Real cool venue! I would recommend getting bottle service if you can. The very first one next to the stage has you on top of performers! Very cool! VIP access and floor area had open bar until 10PM. VIP was good. Also safe area. Stayed at the refinery which was also really cool and only a 3 minute walk. A lot of nice restaurants around this district!
The Baseline: For a in hotel restaurant lounge it must have a good drink menu, excellent appetizers, and a stellar staff to bring out the experience. Food: Just had drinks. The old fashion was well made and they are stiff drinks in New Orleans. Service: Great service from the bartender. Fast and efficient. Ambiance: Wow! The views are incredible and the feeling is relaxed which is a nice escape from the French Quarter.
Stunning vibe, great views and excellent service! One drink cost me $22 but it was an excellent espresso martini. Glad we made the stop!
Here is the place!! The beer is a deal!! 2x$7 (but is just for a while time) First we were outside in the bar and the games, then we got in and the dance floor started! I loved the screen for pics that they have, awesome! I loved the music and the atmosphere! I highly recommend it! Also in the second floor they have a balcony and you can have the beautiful view for the street! I can used the hula hoop!
2019Gras in New Orleans, LA...the World large free party from January 06 to March 06 2019 Mardi Gras in New Orleans, LA. The holiday of Mardi Gras is celebrated in All of Louisiana, including the city of New Orleans. Celebrations are concentrated for about two weeks before and through Shrove Tuesday, the day before Ash Wednesday (the start of lent in the Western Christiantradition). Usually there is one major parade each day (weather permitting); many days have several large parades. The largest and most elaborate parades take place the last five days of the Mardi Gras season. In the final week, many events occur throughout New Orleans and surrounding communities, including parades and balls (some of them masquerade balls). The parades in New Orleans are organized by social clubs known as krewes; most follow the same parade schedule and route each year. The earliest-established krewes were the Mistick Krewe of Comus, the earliest, Rex, the Knights of Momus and the Krewe of Proteus. Several modern "super krewes" are well known for holding large parades and events, such as the Krewe of Endymion (which is best known for naming celebrities as grand marshals for their parades), the Krewe of Bacchus (similarly known for naming celebrities as their Kings), as well as the Zulu Social Aid & Pleasure Club—a predominantly African American krewe. Float riders traditionally toss throws into the crowds. The most common throws are strings of colorful plastic beads, doubloons (aluminum or wooden dollar-sized coins usually impressed with a krewe logo), decorated plastic "throw cups", Moon Pies, and small inexpensive toys, but throws can also include lingerie and more sordid items. Major krewes follow the same parade schedule and route each year. While many tourists center their Carnival season activities on Bourbon Street and in New Orleans and Dauphin, major parades originate in the Uptown and Mid-City districts and follow a route along St. Charles Avenueand Canal Street, on the upriver side of the French Quarter. Mardi Gras day traditionally concludes with the "Meeting of the Courts" between Rex and Comus.[1]
Cool, late-night gay dance club with DJs, drag shows, go-go dancers & a balcony for people-watching.
Such an amazing show! The girls were gorgeous and did their thing! The drinks were delicious and we had the lotus tea drink. Thank you for such a fun and wild time! Debbie with a D is fantastic and zephyr was gorgeous!
Incredible first time drag show, loved the ladies of Oz and intimate performance venue. Good service with no pressure to drink, festive crowd. Recommend arriving 15 minutes before the show. Wednesday nights on Bourbon for the win
If I could have given 0 stars I would. My brother went on a trip with his team for a rugby tournament & decided to go out after the tournament to enjoy the infamous bourbon street. They all bar hopped and 5 of them ended up hanging out longer at fuego & the night took a turn to the worse. As they were leaving about 12 bouncers jumped the five that stayed behind the moment they were outside of the club but that's not the worst of it . The club staff did nothing to help. I understand when drinks are flowing bar fights happen BUT THIS IS WAS AN ACT OF HATE . Two of the men ended up hospitalized, 1 of the two taken to the hospital left on a stretcher unconscious from the bouncers bashing his head into the curb . No one deserves that. This club is carless & reckless. READ THE REVIEWS BEFORE YOU VISIT BC YOU ARE NOT SAFE GOING TO THIS ESTABLISHMENT. IMAGINE getting a call late at night that someone is in the hospital from having their head bashed against the concrete?!. It's honestly sad. This place is disgusting & horrible.
BESTTT CLUB EVER the music is soooo good the vibes are immaculate it’s soo fun drinks are definitely overpriced but overall it’s a good club they should make it a 18+ club
