I did not visit the bar and restaurant, but I did use the bowling alley. 3 hours for 6 players on Friday and Saturday nights is only $50. The lights and music were great, the only complaint are the alley provided balls, which of I could only find one that wasn't a fingertip ball. Great bonding experience with friends in recovery.
Amazing chicken soup. Rich broth, plentiful shredded chicken just a touch sweet. Sweet batter dipped onion rings. Cheese steak sub. Soft sub rolls. Friends and Family atmosphere.
This had to be some of the best food I ever had, if you haven’t tried this place PLEASE DO!!! The sandwich was amazing, the wings were huge and so so so juicy!! And our waitress Nicole was incredibly sweet
Ok, this was an unexpected bonus. First off, me and my brother wanted to get a drink and some food (had a late night craving). Alot of places were serving alcohol late at night, but all the restaurants stop serving food by 9 so it was hard to find a place to eat (with the exception of fast food like BK or Mickey D's). This place happened to serve food, wasnt far from the hotel. Now, it is a bar so its a little darker but its really chill. I especially love the welcoming and honesty/frankness of the servers. The foods had unique names (btw, Holy Schnit!) and me and my brother were so curious that we tried a few things there and it was really filling for the price, tasty and different. The music was pretty on point, some nice classic 90s rock jams. If I lived near this area, I would go with my old school friends and chill there as much as I can, it was way worth it.
Long-standing Irish pub with a cheerful, down-to-earth vibe & a vast menu from pancakes to ribs.
Stopped in for a Guinness and apps. I got the chicken wings and grilled shrimp. Both were good. The service and atmosphere were good too. Great place before going over to the casino
With mixed reviews, we decided to try it before we hit the casino. Everything was great! The atmosphere and staff was friendly. The food was on point. I had a cesear salad with nice big plump grilled shrimp. Plenty of dressing on the side, croutons, freshly shredded mozzarella and crisp romaine lettuce. Ooh, and if they offer you a roll. Take it! You will not be disappointed. My boyfriend had the ham club with the Zippidy-Do-Dah fries. He thought it all was delicious. We will be back. :)
German-themed bar serving craft beer & locavore pub fare in a simple setting with outdoor seats.
Best hamburger in Bangor and super friendly bartenders! We stopped by on an afternoon of walking around Bangor for some lunch and a beer. We left feeling full and completely delighted! The meatballs in the Flight of Meatballs were tender, juicy, and savory. Each of the three sauces were delicious in their own ways but the sweet chili was absolutely fantastic! They had a great selection of beers from the New England area.
I came here because this restaurant has good review and my friend recommended it. It turned out WORST experience ever. The food came after 1 hour 10 minutes - we ordered wings and salad. 9 out of 10 wings got burnt and tasted bitter. We did not complain to get new wings because we did not want to wait for another hour. My friend ordered burger and fries but he got chips over fries. And the waitress said “yeah you saved 2 bucks”. So disappointed I rarely gave 1 star review but this restaurant made me did
Plenty of brews, Irish & American bar food & nightly events are on tap at this polished-looking pub.
The staffs are really friendly and nice. The restaurant owns good vibe! We met an old friend and had really good conversation here :) The food is good! Especially butternut squad salad with grill chicken. Beers are well served too. Recommended
Had the fish and chips and clam chowder in a bread bowl with a couple local beers on the outside area. Very nice and shady out there and dog friendly outside.
Probably one of the best bars in the state of Maine. Local family owned for 3+ generations. Spent many a year frequenting this gem, say hi to Jim or Anthony for me when you drop in.
Best bar in town and they're friendly to boot!
In town for a quick visit and stumbles upon this place. It was an absolute delight! the atmosphere is like a speak easy. perfectly lit- cool and romantic. We sat at the bar and watched Karli the mixologist do her magic-every employee was engaged and helpful. the drinks were delicious and the food was creative and fabulous. we got the charcuterie board -fresh and thoughfully prepared. hit the spot. we can’t wait wait to go back again. if you’re headed to bangor stay at the Phenix and go to Barlimans!
Shocked to see some of these negative reviews. Sure, these are Portland prices, but you'll quickly realize it's so worth it! The food & drink quality are unlike others in the area. Barliman's is elevating the dining scene in Bangor. One of the biggest selling points is that the staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. If you are in a hurry, do not dine here. The point of this place isn't to get in and get out. It's all part of the experience!
Friendly and attentive service! Great food! The custard was amazing and great presentation 💕 Must try the yellow brick road drink. It is my favorite alcoholic beverage so far!
Haley Makes This Place What It Is There are bartenders… and then there’s Haley. The moment you walk into Happy Endings and she’s working, you feel it. The energy shifts. Her vibe is magnetic — welcoming, upbeat, and completely authentic. She doesn’t just serve drinks — she creates an atmosphere that makes you want to stay, bring your friends, and come back again. She has that rare ability to make everyone feel like a regular, even on their first visit. You can tell she cares — about the experience, about the people, about making the night memorable. That kind of presence is something you just can’t teach. I’ve been to a lot of bars, and Haley stands out in a league of her own. The energy, the conversation, the way she reads the room and keeps the vibe right — that’s what turns a bar into the spot. If you’ve ever had a great night at Happy Endings, chances are Haley had something to do with it. This place is lucky to have her. Truly one of a kind.
Been going here for years, don't live in b the area anymore but when I visit this is my go to place. Bands can be hit or miss but when it's a hit it's a good time. Service and drinks are good. Not much night life in Bangor but if you're looking for a place to go on the weekend this can be a fun spot.
Arrived looking for food and some football. Arrived at 6pm. Was not greated by anyone and the female bartender just looked at me for a second and then I went to a table and sat down. No one has come to the table, no one has said a word. This is the third place tonight I've tried to eat ate. Coming to thing service is not a priority in Maine. He for an event and all I want to do is eat. Gave it 10 minutes and left. I concur, the volume of the RV is for old deafs home. You know there is no sound proofing in the echo place. Could be an outstanding place.
The Blue Sky Lounge is a decent sit down restaurant right next to the Grand Hotel. So it’s convenient if you don’t feel like venturing out to find food. It has some seafood options and they offer gluten free pizza and bread. So for dinner I was able to get a gluten free veggie pizza and for breakfast gluten free toast and bacon. Over all not bad. The service was slow and a bit rude. So if you’re in a hurry I’d advise against it.
The wait staff were very friendly and patient with customers. The Cajun chicken Alfredo was way too salty. My beverages were made perfectly. The atmosphere was a cross between a 1980's banquet hall and your local gin mill. Don't get me wrong I love a local gin mill. Food needs major improvement. Staff doesn't need a thing. The local country band was very good. I was impressed.
