Rude staff. Waited for over 30 mins for a pool table and they wouldn’t allow us to play over an hour before closing because of “last call”. We also asked for an exchange of quarters and the bartender/staff rudely said “no” because he was “annoyed at the other customers”. This is completely unacceptable and for this place to have a 4.6 review doesn’t make sense.
Went to this lovely place last night for the first time. Was greeted by the amazing bartender Matt. Made me feel welcome and I couldn’t have asked for a better night. I plan on going a lot more, would love to meet some friends.
Update: almost 3 years later, this place is epic, especially on karaoke night. We made Josh aware we were new to the area, and bar, and he was just the sweetest. He made us feel very welcome. Great vibe here. The patrons were very friendly and had a blast.
They lock the top door entrance @ the end of the night so you have to walk by the cops in the back who loiter there for hours @ the end of the night
The best bar in the greater Hallowell/Augusta/Gardiner area. Super chill, live music a lot of the time, daily updates on social media, reliably closes at 1am, good vibes all around. You can even gather friends to meet here and play table games (cards, dominos, board games). Drinks are cheap and good. Everyone feels welcome. Never and bad vibes. Just chill and fun, exactly what you want in a local bar lounge. Hands down my favorite night-time hangout. And bonus, this place isn’t going anywhere! It survived being completely flooded nearly to the ceiling during the recent flooding of the Kennebec river. Place is a gem. Hope it stays around for a long time. The greater area needs more places like this.
