Apex Rooftop Bar and Lounge 4.9 (1,208)

150 State St, Boston, MA 02109, USA

I’ve been wanting to try Apex Rooftop Bar & Lounge in Downtown Boston since it opened, and Mother’s Day was the perfect reason. For $40, we got a great deal: brunch, a drink, a rose, and live R&B violin music—which was honestly amazing. The buffet, served one level down by the chef himself, included jalapeño scrambled eggs, fried chicken, potatoes, creamy pasta, bacon, turkey sausage, waffles, fresh fruit, and a selection of cakes. While a few items weren’t as hot as I’d like, I’m pretty sure Chef Jermaine would've happily reheated them had I asked—he was super accommodating. We even got a surprise visit from Tito Jackson (yes, Boston's own)! It was a fun touch that added to the atmosphere. The vibes were great, drinks were solid, and the entire staff—from servers to the lovely hostess—was friendly and welcoming. I’d definitely come back, especially if they update the menu and expand beyond fruity mimosas. I don't use cannabis, but next time I’ll have to check out their store. All in all, a good experience at a reasonable price.

I took a date there and he loves the experience. We had a great time, the view of the city buildings is unbeatable. I just wished that they had more open spaces. The cocktails were very good. Overall I’m satisfied with the service I received, and my date says he was pleased. We met the owner, and he is very nice and friendly.

We attended an event that was designed around cocktails paired with food, and it turned out to be a wonderful experience. The cocktails were truly exceptional—beautifully crafted, balanced in flavor, and presented with creativity. Each one felt unique, and you could tell a lot of thought went into the mixology. The food was good and complemented the drinks well. While the cocktails were clearly the highlight of the evening, the pairings showed intention and added to the overall experience. The ambiance of the venue was fantastic—stylish yet comfortable. The atmosphere really enhanced the enjoyment of both the drinks and the food. Service was another pleasant surprise. The staff were attentive, friendly, and seemed genuinely invested in making sure guests had a great time. Everything felt smooth and well organized, which made the evening even more enjoyable. Overall, it was a memorable event that we’d be happy to recommend, especially for anyone who appreciates great cocktails in a lively and welcoming setting.

I took my 24 year old son who is a bartender for his birthday along with his girlfriend and my other son. What a wonderful experience from the speakeasy atmosphere, to the music vibe to the beautifully crafted cocktails and light fare. It was more than expected. The staff was wonderful, warm and gracious. It was evident that they took their time in creating just the right balance not only with the drinks themselves but with the small plates that complemented the drinks. I appreciated that you pay for the experience beforehand so you can just sit back and relax and take it all in. Highly recommend you find the red fox on the door and embark on a lovely evening to remember.

This is hands down my fav dive bar in the city. Everyone here is so friendly and kind. The vibes are immaculate. The music is always so good and is just loud enough to hear it but ambient enough to have a conversation and not having to yell. The jerk chicken tacos are a must try and i get the dirt bird every time I’m here and I’m never disappointed! It’s cash-only so don’t forget to bring some change but there’s also an ATM in the back so they got you covered

I loved the decor of this place! The wallpaper is amazing and it’s a nice, open, eclectic space! Their menu is pretty unique and has an island vibe. The Golden Colada was delicious and the Jamaican Beef Patty was a great snack (very spicy!) service was great, not sure it’s a spot I’d hit up for dinner but definitely for drinks!

We booked a private event for ten people and it was absolutely awesome. Phil developed a menu for us, gave us some extremely delicious high end (and healthy!) snacks to eat (think a perfect orzo, tomato, and cuke salad, fresh grilled pita and a garlic dip, etc), and just a dizzyingly wonderful array of cocktail options. Everyone in our group found choices the loved. And Phil and Ada were fantastic hosts. I will be booking a holiday party next! The location is super charming as well. If you love craft cocktails, make this a destination.

This is hands down my favorite experience in all of Boston. If you like cocktails, craft food service, and are into immaculate vibes this can’t be missed. Though reservations can be tough to snag, there is nothing more worth it. We’ve gone twice and I can’t wait to return again, both times we had such an amazing evening. Perfect for any date night, celebration, or girls night out for a couple friends. Drinks are beyond, staff is so knowledgeable and kind, and the entire experience is top notch. If I had to suggest one event in Boston this would be my first go to.

Bijou has 2 floors - Whether you party in club 51 downstairs or Bijou (upper level) you will have a great time. I’ve partied with my friends on both floors numerous times and have never been disappointed. I love when they host famous house/tech DJs: They always bring a large crowd and the music is fire! Follow Bijou Boston Instagram page to keep up with the DJs that will be playing for the night or any special guest. Last year they had Kodak Black and Shaboozey pop up and the club was LIT! I also love when they play Arab and Spanish music - you really get a nice variety of genre partying at Bijou! If you’re look for you more hip hop/ rap, I’d recommend to come on Saturdays. The staff are also really nice and accommodating. Anytime I needed assistance with my reservations Joey the manager was always available to assist. The security is always available as well if I lost my keys or had to wait for Uber. The bottle girls are also so sweet! I love when they dance and party with the table, it makes the night so much more fun!

I had an amazing experience at this club! From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was electric. The staff were welcoming, friendly, and clearly passionate about creating a great environment for everyone. The music was on point all night—great mix, incredible energy, and the DJ knew exactly how to keep the crowd moving. The venue itself was clean, well-organized, and had a vibrant vibe. Whether you’re there to dance, relax with friends, or meet new people, this club offers the perfect setting. The drinks were reasonably priced and well-made, and the service at the bar was quick and efficient, even during peak hours. Overall, this club exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a fun, safe, and unforgettable night out!

Really really cool bar. Venue is superbly situated with a view onto Fenway park. Food we had was excellent and very tasty. I do like my beers and the pumpkin ale was possibly one of my top 5 ales. However thats the good points now the bad. At the end of the evening I was presented with an $80 bill good value for food and 5 beers between me and my wife. I added a $20 tip as our waitress (who shall remain nameless) had been nice and accommodating. I handed over my credit card for her to swipe. Chase sent me a notification during the night that my card had been charged not the expected $100 but $163. I have now raised a dispute with the bar as I have a receipt in my possession that clearly shows the total. Such a shame a really good night had been spoilt in this way. Lesson for me never hand over your card. Lesson for everyone else, don't hand over your card a check then double check your statements.

I wish there were 6 stars. Everyone here is your friend - leave your problems outside - or bring them in and anyone here will listen. Whether you're in a Brooks Brothers 3-piece cut high and tight or rocking Vans with dreds you have a home here. It's a comfy bar with attentive service, good food, and it's a downtown location (5 minute walk from South Station, on the edge of Chinatown) that will not break the bank. Students, financiers (not the cake), and locals mesh well. If you visit once, you'll want to visit again.

Great atmosphere perfect for a romantic date and the tapas style menu also makes it a great location for social gatherings. Service was incredible. Our server was able to answer our questions on the menu and also provided the best wine recommendations. With two of us we found that a snack, a social plate, and the smaller tuna feast was perfect for us. We had the smoked ricotta fritters, Moroccan lamb belly, crispy tuna fregola, and finally the basque cheesecake. All of the food was fabulous, wish we could have tried their stone fired pitas as those also looked quite delicious.

Duong Le3a week ago

TLDR: Much better as a pre or post-dinner drinks place. Don't get food here. Ambience: Gorgeous space, dark and intimate. Perfect for date nights. It is located in kind of a sketchy alleyway. We had no issue, but a brisk, purposeful speed walk is recommended to get to the restaurant. Food: Disappointing, except the tuna crudo, which was absolutely standout, delicious flavours and textures. Softshell crab felt really "heavy" because it's fried, with grits/mashed potato at the bottom. This needs to be paired with a sauce instead. Little leaf salad lacks flavour and dressing. Pita was dry, hard and salty. Viper chop was slightly dry and salty. Couldn't even bear to get dessert. The mocktails and cocktails we ordered were delicious! Service: We went on Thursday evening, our server was nice but nothing to write home about. I called at 5:30 PM on Thursday evening to (very politely) adjust my reservation and the lady who picked up the phone had the absolutely worst attitude I've ever seen; I've never seen this kind of behaviour at any restaurant, let alone somewhere as upscale as here.

We came here because we were staying near the area and we wanted an Irish pub and fish and chips. The location is good because it's by a lot of other shopping, restaurants, Prudential center, etc. But that's where it kind of stopped. As soon as we came inside the floor was sticky. Not only could you feel it stick to the bottom of your shoes but you could hear it every time you stepped. We went towards the back to sit down to get something to eat and nobody came and took our order. We asked somebody else and they said you had to go to the bar so there's only one person working. They were the bartender, the server, the buser, etc. We had to go to the bar ourselves and order and take it to our table. We ended up only having one drink and going somewhere else to eat. Wasn't too impressed with the menu. I loved the front seating by the window so you could sit and watch the action outside.

Justin Snider12 months ago

What a waste. Dude working the bar barely spoke to or acknowledged people. Not just us but everyone. Another guy asked for his check and he just yells "40" across the bar. Everything we ordered was barely met with a response. Also the fish and chips, while tasty. This is not a $22 or $24 plate. Idk that I've ever seen a fish and chips plate with only one piece of fish. Maybe this place is a tourist trap and they don't care about repeat business or maybe they just don't like making money. Either way, highly recommend going elsewhere. It's a shame because the space looks nice. Staff was just awful.

This place is really cool!!! Not a place I’d go every week, but definitely a fun place to go once in a while, especially if you like video-like games, fun drinks, and F1. I highly recommend going with a group or at least a few friends … and making reservations. First, it’s a little pricey, but I really do feel like that’s expected for a place like this. It’s worth the money … for some fun, but definitely go knowing that you’re going to spend a little money. Second, the staff is very friendly. They definitely make this easy to understand and an enjoyable experience. Third, the food and drinks are super yummy!!! I love the drinks!!! They were actually good quality for a place like this. And last, the game is shorter than I would have liked, but I guess that means it’s super fun!!! I love the different options and ease of use.

Went to The Bebop on a random Thursday afternoon. Turns out that it was open mic night. There were maybe 3 or 4 people in the bar and one person, not untalented, playing guitar very loudly. I guess I can't complain but I could barely get my drink order in because of the noise. Laid-back, divey vibe with a kind of light Irish theme. A small second story with seating. Drink price very reasonable @ $9/mixed drink. I'd go back again, but maybe not on open mic night. I like to be able to hear myself think.

I love Offsuit - it has an actual speakeasy vibe as it’s definitely a very obscure entrance from an alley. The drinks are awesome - it’s an interesting menu and everything I’ve ordered here has been delicious. It’s such a cool vibe here too, perfect for a date night - very dark and intimate, and they’re often playing 90s hip hop, which I love. It’s pricey for sure - last time the bill was $250 for 2 people, but we did get multiple rounds of drinks as well as food. On that note, food was good too - small plates and bar snack vibes but it was enough for a full meal. We’ll definitely keep coming back, and highly recommend if you like craft cocktails!

It was quite an adventure finding Offsuit—we even had to check Google Maps to figure out the entrance, and once we found it, we called to get in, which just added to the fun. Inside, the space is stunning: the lighting, the ambience, and the little candles on each table really set the mood. The menu itself was playful and creative, designed like a deck of cards you flip through. For cocktails, I tried the myth of fingerprints (gin, grapefruit lillet, sweet pepper cordial) while my partner had impossible odds (mezcal, celery, peach, earl gray, tarragon oil) and both were absolutely amazing—honestly some of the finest cocktails I’ve ever had, so innovative and balanced. We also had the Pao pao shrimp (w/ spicy aioli, scallion, sesame), which paired perfectly with the drinks. I even told the bartender how impressed I was, because the flavors were that good. Lily greeted us warmly and made us feel so welcome throughout the evening. This place is such a gem—we’ll definitely be back for sure!

Loved the cozy, yet chic pub vibe and charming staff! We came to experience The Fed’s famous cocktails, but we were blown away by the food selections as well. When the staff heard it was my mother’s first time in Boston, Chef John made it extra special by creating a delicious Seafood tower for us! (The scallop ceviche was to die for!) The four of us sampled the pretzel, clam chowder and pasta dishes, and I’ll be making another trip back just to have the grilled asparagus salad again. So fresh and tasty! I gave ‘Mix Master Marco’ a challenge to surprise me with a cocktail, and the daiquiri he created was just amazing. (Now I wish I could remember the name of it.) Hats off to the whole team, we’ll definitely be back!

Solid choice for an upscale bar experience with decent food and drinks. When The Fed opened a few years back, it stirred up plenty of hype after being named one of the best cocktail bars in the nation. I missed it during its initial hype, but recently had the chance to drop by for drinks and dinner. While it didn’t quite have the grandeur of Grana, it offered a similar touch of luxury with cozy couches circling the central square bar—plush, stylish, and perfect for unwinding in style. As expected, the menu here felt a bit overpriced, though pretty typical for a 5-star hotel restaurant. However, the food quality didn’t quite live up to its reputation. They stuck to classic dishes without any interesting twists in ingredients or sauces—perhaps a bit too simple for items like the Fed Burger, Lobster Roll, and Crab Cakes. Honestly, they weren’t much different from what you’d find at upscale taverns around the city but came with a higher price tag. The fries, lightly dusted with Old Bay seasoning, were a nice touch and probably my favorite part of the entrées. The burger was decent, though lacking in veggie toppings, and the patty leaned a bit dry. The Pork Belly Bites and Clam Chowder were our favorites—especially the chowder, which is hard to get wrong. The cocktail menu offered some interesting and creative options, but the execution was just okay. As for the service, it was probably the biggest letdown—after taking our order, our server was MIA until we flagged him down for the check. While the Financial District doesn’t have a lot of cocktail bars, I’m not sure this would be my go-to spot even if I’m in the area. For a better experience, I’d recommend heading to Vermilion Club instead.

Went for a Packer Game while in Boston. PackersEverywhere group was great - met Packer fans from around the country. Recommend arriving early - standing room only by game start time. Food was good, prices good, bartender Joy AMAZING!!! The only downside was the room was freezing - so dress like you are attending the frozen tundra.

There's live music 7 nights a week according to the sign, and that was a great bonus. It's all ages in the dining area until 10pm. It's all one big room, though, and the loud crowded pub atmosphere was a little too noisy for me personally during dinner and detracted from the live entertainment, but I still really enjoyed it overall. I had the Irish Trio, which consists of smaller portions of bangers and mash, shepherd's pie, and beef stew than the regular entrees. Everything had great flavor and texture. I haven't had Irish food from a restaurant in decades, and this really hit the spot.

I have been wanting to take my family here for years. (We live in Michigan) I came to this restaurant 22 years ago with my parents and loved it. I remember exactly what I ordered then! I was nervous to go back and ruin the memories but so glad I did go back. It's exactly as I remember. Very quaint restaurant. I love the style and atmosphere. The staff are so friendly and lovely. The food was great. My son said it was the "best burger" of his "whole life" and that's saying something because this kid lives off burgers and pizza. I got the Boston dip and it was fantastic. I also felt like it was fairly priced. My husband got a Guinness and said it was so fresh and the best he has had. I would love to come back here. We enjoyed our meal here and our kids now have memories of this place as I did.

This restaurant has a great vibe with live music and delicious food. My friends and I went for brunch while they were playing live jazz, which really set the tone and elevated the whole experience. They have live music every day, but the jazz is definitely my favorite. The space is fairly large with two floors, the second floor houses the stage and still has plenty of seating. We kicked things off with some tasty mimosas and cocktails, then shared the pecan sticky bun and coffee cake. The pastries are on the smaller side, best for sharing between two people, so we ordered both to split among the five of us. For our mains, we had the eggs Benedict, American breakfast, and buttermilk biscuits with gravy. All the dishes were hearty, well portioned, and really hit the spot. Service was quick and attentive, which we really appreciated. Overall, it’s a great spot, perfect for catching up with friends or even a casual date!

Hungry after seeing a show next door. Was busy, but the door guy was friendly. We were mainly there for the food. They had good live music friendly and speedy staff. Food was good. I get a little cautious at times trying new places, so went for the burger and chicken. No disappointments. If and when I’m back down in this area, would definitely come back!

If you're willing to buy a ticket to a show, you mine as well get the Foundation room if it's available. It is expensive to become a member but sometimes you can add it on for $20-$30. I find myself wanting to spend as much time in the Foundation Room as I do the venue floor while there. The decor is phenomenal, psychedelic, and the pictures are just a fraction of the splendor. Theres plenty of space to settle in with a large or small group here, and there's even a deck! There's TVs throughout the rooms with stage on display. Also separate bathrooms and bar from the main show. (drinks are cheaper downstairs though)

Love the bar/nightclub before and after concerts. The menu is pretty good and the dj’s in between are pretty cool. Love the classy, upscale vibes while at the bar. Being able to grab a drink 10x faster than folks inside of the venue during concerts is an incredible perk. One of the best parts about going to House of Blues in Boston is enjoying the foundation room.

Lolita offers great vibes and quality food! When you enter you're transported into a very sophisticated space with gothic decor. It's very photogenic and has top notch ambiance. Drinks we got were really good. I enjoyed my riviera margarita a lot, and the glass of wine my boyfriend got was good. We split a few food items as it seemed like the best option. This place doesn't market itself as tapas style from what I saw, but the portion sizes definitely feel like it is. We started with the hot queso dip as our appetizer. It was good but ! feel like the dip could've been bigger for the amount of chips given. Then we split the beef gorditas which came recommended to us by the host, as well as the steal quesabirria. Both were really yummy and honestly were filling. Then they give you a cotton candy when you get your bill which was a cool touch. Tables are close together so our neighbors were striking up conversation with us. I didn't mind but beware if you're looking for a more intimate experience it might not happen depending on who your neighbors are. But I was surprised with how big this place is, there are so many dining rooms and a few bars! Overall a quality date night in Boston!

We celebrated there my friends party and we went there because we were so excited to have pictures printed on our drinks and I want to want there are only few drinks on which you can do that, my friends party tried that on her drink names Sneaky smth and this drink was just like juice, we were disappointed. Food was so so. Nachos are good. I ordered chicken tenders , they were without salary and carrots like in most places. Mozzarella sticks are delicious. So atmosphere is good , location good, this is not really huge place I would say tiny. Honestly this place is for one time. We paid a lot for this place 100 bucks from each of 10 guests. This is very expensive. I hope this will help. Portions are big. I don’t like sweet drinks and I chose sweet drink with picture or less sweet without , I chose less sweet.

Excellent service. Friendly greeting. Promptly seated. Easy to find. Offers a break away from the crowds of nearby markets. Best fish and chips I’ve had since London. A small detail but the malt vinegar brand and the offering of curry for the chips offered the perfect compliment. Recommended with enthusiasm.

The pinnacle spot in Boston for Irish food. I have gone twice since being here and had possibly the best fish and chips I have ever had. The fish & chips is served with curry sauce and tartar sauce, both excellent. My wife had the beef stew which was hearty and homey (but nothing that special). On the other occasion I also had a pork belly dish that was also very tasty. The atmosphere is lively, staff is friendly and helpful and the beer selection is strong. Worth a visit if you are old enough to remember the show.

My husband and I were so excited to experience "the bar" from Cheers! I was a little nervous as we had planned to stop mid-afternoon to miss the lunch rush, but plans went more quickly. We landed there right at noon. Going in, it seemed like a huge wait, but don't turn back! The place is huge! As a group of four, we got in right away. We didn't sit in the front, but we had a comfortable spot in the back. Our server was fabulous. She never let our drinks go dry and the food was speedy. I would say everything was just average, but the food is really not why you are going to visit this place. There is a gift shop where you can buy lots of merchandise. Also there is SO MUCH TO LOOK AT! Lots of show and sports memorabilia. A great stop on our trip, and I would go back if we visit Boston again.

Went there after the Red Sox game which finished at 6:30 and we got there around 7:45 due to heavy foot traffic for 1/2 price apps and free pretzels with any purchase which was advertised outside, and then when we got in was told that that wasn’t the case, after I even took a picture of the sign outside because we were sitting right in front of it, our waitress said “That’s weird let me check” then came back and just said there was no such thing. So we decided to just pay for our drinks and leave because that’s what drew us to walk in the first place. The waitress then proceeded to forget about Us completely and not bring the bill, so we left cash and walked out. Sad because I’ve been there before and had such a great experience, so was trying to share that with someone new. Will not be coming back here.

We popped into the lounge after finishing our tour of the Freedom Trail- pretty sure we were their first customers of the day, at 4pm! We headed to the back- amazing options between the front bar and the dark and speakeasy-vibe of a lounge. After a day of walking, we shared a cheese board and some signature cocktails in a quiet lounge! Soon, as people were getting out of work for the day, the front bar and the lounge began to fill up. Amazing vibe, knowledgeable bar staff, friendly front of the house staff! Worth a visit!

We had probably our best brunch ever (no kidding) at jm Curley. We found another restaurant nearby by doing a Google search for “brunch,” but the line was crazy so we found jmC just half a block away. It didn’t show up on the brunch search and that’s a shame. The fried pickles as an appetizer were amazing - light tempura-style batter that didn’t overwhelm the slightly sweet thinly-sliced pickles and the sauce complemented it well. The chicken and waffle bowl was AMAZING - great, unique take on this brunch classic. Such a great combination of flavors! The tuna poke was delicately flavored and perfectly prepared, though it didn’t need as many wontons. Service was friendly and attentive, and the prices were excellent for the high quality food we received. Highly recommended!

My family and I had a very pleasant dinner at JM Curley. The atmosphere was great and we were able to watched a Boston Celtics match. Dinner was good: chicken wings and Nashville hot fried chicken sando were amazing (very crispy and tasty), while we did not fully enjoy the mac n cheese (with pulled pork). It was too salty, too heavy cream, and we could not finish it. Probably, less and more diluted sauce would have been better. We also ordered a beer each, and skillet chocolate chip cookie as dessert. We LOVED ward 8! The atmosphere was beautiful, it was so intimate, great date night spot. We got pork belly bao buns, mac and cheese, chicken sandwich, burgers, and turkey burgers. The fries were beautiful, shoe string. had an awesome espresso martini, everyone was happy with thier drinks. Service was quick, we had 6 people and ate with apps and under 2 hours. Loved the open air windows.

Stopped in for dinner before a show. The food was good. A bit pricey for the type of food. The staff friendly and they didn't rush you. Cute pub atmosphere. I'm not sure if they have AC or if it was out, but it was really stuffy in there even though they were running fans. That kind of made the experience less enjoyable.

Great bar on a wonderful street in Boston Overall a very good experience the staff worked hard and perhaps of their work load the service at least once was not warranting a higher mark. The female lead could engage more however as stated she was probably feeling fatigue ( we did note she may do a ten / twelve hour shift) The atmosphere every night was electric and had a mass diversity in clientele We will definitely return and I believe with more support the team will be brilliant Slight downside was the need as in many US establishments to entertain a tip We ended our tips on the last two occasions as we believed we had spent the right amount of fare including the taxes Overall a must for anyone coming to Boston BTW Cheers bar is around the corner just a five minute walk 😺👍

We had some time to burn before we headed back to the hotel and came across this local bar. The atmosphere was awesome and the service was outstanding. Being from So Cal we enjoyed the air conditioning. My son loves his limes in his beer so he ordered his Coors light with a lime which the server called California style. We loved the ribbing they gave us for some of our order choices, we can't wait to visit this bar on our return trip.

Best beer bar in town. There were plenty types of beers. Luckily, I went here when there was a IPA Madness beer flight so I could try 4 brands of IPA. The IPA was mouthwatering, I really liked the Boulevard Space Camper Juice Nova. Don't forget to order the Queso Dip, it was so tasty and matched with the beer. The waiters & waitresses were friendly and kind. There were plenty tables in the bar, so u didn't need to queue too long. Would love to go back here.

Rude security, awful club set up/ambiance. Expensive and not properly prepared drinks. The Dj was good but everything else was not.

Allison Wolfe12 years ago

I recently had the unfortunate experience of visiting Favela Encantada, and I must say, it was a complete disappointment. The establishment boasts itself as a place of enjoyment and entertainment, but my encounter with one of their bouncers left me utterly disgusted and appalled. Upon arriving at the venue, I was greeted by an intimidating bouncer who seemed to take pleasure in asserting his authority. From the moment I approached the entrance, it was evident that this individual had little regard for basic human decency. Instead of a warm welcome or even a neutral demeanor, I was met with a condescending attitude and a rude demeanor that was simply uncalled for. As if his behavior wasn't enough, things escalated further when I was subjected to an unnecessary and invasive search. While I understand the need for security measures, the bouncer's approach was completely disproportionate and invasive. His rough handling and lack of respect made me feel violated and humiliated. It was clear that he was enjoying his power trip at the expense of the patrons. Adding insult to injury, I witnessed the bouncer treating other guests in a similar manner. The consistent abuse of power was alarming and painted a bleak picture of Favela Encantada's management. It seems that this establishment condones and even promotes such inappropriate behavior among its staff, which is truly disheartening. The incident with the bouncer completely overshadowed any positive aspects Favela Encantada may have had. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend this place to anyone. The management should take immediate action to address the issue and ensure that their staff treats customers with respect and dignity. Such behavior is completely unacceptable and tarnishes the reputation of the establishment. In conclusion, my experience at Favela Encantada was marred by the mistreatment and inappropriate conduct of one of their bouncers. I rate this place a dismal 1 star, and I strongly advise potential visitors to steer clear of this establishment until they rectify these serious issues

It was super busy busy when I visited. You can meet every generation here. The music was fantastic. The bar food menu is a limited but that’s OK for the bar. Food was great with both pub fair, finger food, brunch options and plenty of healthy choices too. Great beer and drink selection. Staff was attentive and food came out quickly. The atmosphere during the Sunday football games was terrific, and while people were cheering, you could still have a conversation. Great vibe, good food, terrific service. A pretty unique place where you can "drink a cold Samuel Adams while viewing... a cold Samuel Adams" 🤣. Took a picture from the table nearest to the window and facing the grave. Asked for special shaved ice drink with Orange flavor and whiskey. It was delicious. Sometimes worth asking things off the menu! Tried the fried pickel for the first time, apparently per my friend who had tried different fried pickles in the past that it is one of the best he has had - crispy outside with just right amount of batter and the thickness of the sliced pickel was also perfect 😎👌👌. Had a good time there.

Ordered last night and had a wonderful experience. Tonight was a different story. I received much less chicken than yesterday. I also got blue cheese after asking for ranch. Then I went back inside and asked for ranch and received blue cheese AGAIN. Decent tenders but after tipping well for tenders two nights in a row during times like this...I'm left to support other establishments willing to take my order seriously. Sad to say quality of chicken was completely off too. These tasted chewy, rubbery dry at times and lukewarm. The ones yesterday were freshly done. Tried one more time and worst than ever burnt, dry and tough.

Happy Hour runs from 3–6 PM and offers a variety of tasty appetizers, though service was slow despite the lack of a crowd. The queso was thick and cheesy with a subtle kick from the hot sauce. The chicken nachos were a standout, with a huge portion loaded with toppings and flavor. The lettuce wraps featured crisp butter lettuce with sweet and savory dipping sauces, while the classic sliders were delicious alongside fries. The thin-crust carnivore pizza was hearty and loaded with smoky meats.

Karaoke night at Wild Rover was an absolute blast! I went with a group of friends and we had an unforgettable time. The energy in the room was electric — everyone was singing their hearts out, cheering each other on, and just vibing together like one big party. The crowd was super fun, the staff kept the drinks flowing, and the DJ kept the night moving with an awesome lineup of songs. As a guy, I’ve gotta say… I definitely caught a few other guys checking out my butt, which honestly just added to the wild and carefree fun of the night. No complaints — the whole atmosphere was playful, inclusive, and full of good vibes. Service is great, and food is relatively fast considering how busy this place is in a game day. Great job 👏 👍 👌

We stopped in here after doing the Fenway Park tour, and it’s definitely a spot built for a party/game-day atmosphere. Since there wasn’t a game on when we visited, things were quieter, which gave us a chance to take it in at a more relaxed pace. Drinks: The mojito was excellent – really fresh and well-balanced. The Guinness was just what you’d expect, poured right and no complaints. Food: We both went with salads. I had one with avocado and bacon, and my fiancé had one with chicken. The ingredients were fresh, but the flavor was a little watered down – still enjoyable, just not as bold as we were hoping for. Service & Atmosphere: The staff was friendly, but service was on the slower side, especially considering the place wasn’t packed. A little more attentiveness would’ve gone a long way. That said, the vibe is cool, and you can tell this place must be electric on game days. Overall: Not a bad experience at all – solid drinks, decent food, and a great location if you’re coming from Fenway. I’d say it’s worth checking out if you want to grab a drink or a bite near the ballpark, especially when there’s a game or event going on.

If you're looking for an intimate setting to enjoy some tasty drinks and conversation, Hecate is perfect for that. From the "sketchy" alleyway entrance, to the underground vibe, you're reminded of Hecate's domain being the goddess of boundaries, underworld and witchcraft. Music plays at a level loud enough to be heard but not enough to drown out the people you're with. Drinks are well crafted and taste great. The servers are so friendly and attentive. While experience ties together so well, loved every second of it.

Poorly Handled by “Madame” Management Went out with my friends and family to celebrate my graduation and decided to hit a local club. Things were going great at first—we were in good spirits, having fun, and enjoying the night. About an hour in, everything changed! A woman ( Hispanic , about five foot, jet black hair) who seemed to be in charge approached us and told us we had to vacate the section we were sitting in because it was “reserved.” It was an empty Friday night, and the party it was allegedly reserved for hadn’t even arrived yet. We respectfully offered to pay for the section, but she refused without even considering it. For context, this was around 10 PM on Friday, May 23rd, 2025. The Red Sox game had been postponed due to the rain, so we found a new spot to continue the celebration. Shoutout to the BARTENDERS —they were fantastic and really made us feel welcome! When one of the staff members kindly told us we needed to move, I was in the middle of turning to let my group know, and before I could say anything, “Madame” came over and started shouting and demanding that we leave the section immediately, while 4 to 5 other sections were available for that party when they arrived. Then, out of nowhere, she got physically aggressive, just because we didn’t move fast enough for her. It was completely uncalled for, especially given how calm and cooperative we were trying to be. What should have been a great night ended on a sour note because of how poorly the situation was handled. My FIRST and LAST TIME GOING TO THE CLUB!

I ordered 4 shots of don julio and was charged $92, when I asked why, the bartender proceeded to say a shot cost $18, even at that, the total would be $72, she said the extra was service fee and tax... I have never seen anything like this before in my life

We did not eat here so I can't comment on the food but boy was this place a good time! Came from Canada for a weekend and popped in here for "a" drink on a Friday night....well we met some hilarious folks from California and some great Bostonians and we did not stop singing and laughing from the time we stepped through the door til the time we left! Started off downstairs where we spent most of the night with some excellent karaoke tunes and exceptional service from Sean, our waiter! What was supposed to be "a" drink turned into 8-9 each, a pretty hefty bar tab and the loss of all our voices! The upstairs is a DJ'd dance floor and we had a blast up there too! Great music, great people, great time ...not so great 3 day hangover but honestly it was worth it 👌🏼😂

Went here for the survivor event. Had a drink and food. Then waited in line for over 40 min to play the two games upstairs. Just when we finished up with those two and tried to go downstairs to play the last game, our time was up. We asked to play the game downstairs once before leaving since we waited in line forever to play two games. The older man with the grey hair was incredibly abrasive and was basically like sorry too bad and forced us out. Will never come here for an event again. Not worth the attitude from staff, which ruined the experience, coming from someone with experience in food industry customer service. A waste of money.

Everytime I’ve come to the Alley has been great. Friendly staff, reasonably priced and generously poured drinks, and the food is great. Awesome events too! Bouncer even checked on my friend who had a little too much to drink and brought them a water bottle. Thank you Alley!!

Dave was the first person from Boston we spoke to when we landed and he was just great, cheap beer and great options, but just good chat and told us a bit about Boston and where to go that night. The bar was opposite the hotel and if you’re in the area I’d def reccomend dropping in for a beer while you get your bearings. Cheers Dave, take care

It’s a no nonsense bar. Went before a Celtics game and even though it was busy no one was waiting for a drink. Beer was cold, priced fairly, good pours on the spirits, friendly efficient service, game day atmosphere, happy customers. Definitely coming back here next time I’m catching a game.

Very nice rooftop bar with a VIEW! Food selection was appetizers and the quantity was for big group wasnt that great. Overall the drinks were good! Very friendly staff, guests and nice atmosphere. The view was the best! Recommend to go there and try.

Renauld “NauldoNation” Brown5a month ago

The rooftop at the Envoy is an awesome spot with a great atmosphere and good music. It’s definitely one of those places where the vibe alone makes it worth checking out. That said, like most of Boston, it’s not cheap—you’re looking at $20+ per drink, so if you grab a few rounds, it adds up fast. Still, they use high-quality liquor (especially the tequila, which I appreciated), and you can taste the difference. One standout was the frozen mango cocktail—on a hot summer day, two of those will set you right. Between the skyline views, the energy, and the quality drinks, I’d absolutely go back. Just keep in mind, you’re in Boston, so expect to pay for the experience.

Went there with my wife after a day in Lowell service was at a good pace great food and great sports atmosphere! It can get loud when busy but still able to hold a normal conversation and the food was really good! I got the pulled pork Mac cheese which was deceiving it looked big but was just the right amount without feeling too full. My wife got the salad which was very good. The Sam Adam's seasonal was on point will definitely go back if the opportunity allows it. Our server was also excellent very personal able and didn't make us feel rushed

Steven Hall43 weeks ago

Food was great but it took awhile even with a nearly empty restaurant. The atmosphere is the perfect place to watch a sporting event, dozens of huge TVs and are quite viewable from everywhere in the place. I would definitely go again even though the kitchen was incredibly slow even with no one in the restaurant and not a single soap dispenser worked in the men’s bathroom, apparently there are some on the sides? Perhaps just get the ones you have fixed though.

I attended a concert here recently and had an incredible night. This mid-sized venue has all the charm of an older concert hall with excellent sound. Upon arrival there was a line at opening which was managed well by the staff. There are chairs and couches inside and re-entry on select shows that make this a standout location in Boston. Their bartenders are friendly, however I did not see any food options, but it's a default metric for the review. I look forward to coming back for another memorable night and recommend visiting the Royale for any concert.

Legacy throws an amazing LGBT Latin night in the Boston area! It’s one of the few spots that plays only Latin music—reggaeton, Latin pop, urban, bachata, salsa, and merengue all night long. This place is what is wrong with the Boston gay scene, they only care about your money. The bald white bouncer with a beard is so mean and passive aggressive, it feels like he is on a power trip. On free nights before 11pm you are not allowed to leave the club even if you are willing to come back and pay the cover. The drinks are trash and you are surveilled like a hawk when you are just trying to have a good time. There is no difference between club cafe and legacy as they don't make you feel welcome and safe. Do not go unless they change their ways!

Centerfolds is where Boston nightlife comes alive. It doesn’t just raise the bar—it owns it. From the minute you walk in, the energy is unmistakable—music that sets the tone, lighting that flatters the room, and performers who are as talented as they are STUNNING! The girls are super sexy compared to other local clubs. What sets them apart isn’t just beauty; it’s connection. Each set feels unique, with entertainers who engage the crowd and make every performance feel personal and unforgettable. Service is spot on too! Bartenders and staff strike that rare balance—present when you need them, discreet when you don’t—ensuring the night flows flawlessly. Drinks were a little delayed, so our server brought over complimentary glasses of cava, unprompted. A complimentary small plate was also brought over, but that may have just been the restaurant being nice. Lovely experience!

Some friends and I saw Sam Feldt here a while back. Sam Feldt was awesome but the DJ before him, I don't who it was, they were NOT good. My friend got a Tom Collins and it was 21 dollars which I thought was bad but not shockingly bad. We didn't have a table so it took us 30-45 minutes to get on the dance floor. The floor is way too small in this place. I wish they would take out some of the booths/tables and make room to expand the floor but I know they'll never do that.

I booked a VIP experience for my friends bachelorette party. Everything was great until after the fact. Once we got there and the server, etc everything was great! BUT as everyone knows sometimes you drink... ya know... your at the club... and may add a few things in a large group, so I emailed asking for the receipts of all of us, as after the fact we just wanted an itemized statement to see what happen. The Manager Julia Rallis seemedf helpful, but just never followed through or responded to me after she got all the information she apparently needed, and another member of our party has tried to get ahold of her she has been ignored as well. All we wanted was the receipts or an itemized statement, she asked for what kind of cards, last 4 digits ect. after that nothing. So I will never come here again, I feel like items were added and we were unaware the bill was double what it was supposed to be and it makes no sense. I feel as we were all robbed. Again if I got the receipts then I could ask who ordered what, but the "manager" is no help. So I would be careful here and pay attention big time, you will be taken advantage of. Other then that everything else was good, but none of my group would go there again which is sad as it is a nice little spot. Be careful everyone, it's getting worse out there! UPDATE: 11/19/2024 Finally got my receipt, after posting this review. I appreciate the back and forth emails helping resolve this issue. But I still feel as I stated above.

This place looks nice from the outside, but the management and staff completely ruin it. The service was unprofessional and borderline rude. Bottle service was disorganized, and we were overcharged without any clear explanation. When we questioned it, the staff got defensive instead of fixing the issue. Security acted like they owned the place, with zero respect for paying customers. For a club that calls itself “upscale,” the treatment here was anything but. Boston has way better nightlife options than this overpriced, poorly run spot.

First time coming here for a night out with friends and I literally cannot believe that one of the bouncers grabbed my arm so hard to move me back into line... Mind you I am 5'0 tall and 120 lbs. I told him "WHAT ARE YOU DOING? DON'T TOUCH ME." Like does a full-grown adult not know you can just tell someone to do something and they'll do it? But this "full-grown" adult felt the need to squeeze my arm and shove me into a line full of people. You know what topped it all? Another bouncer walked by and I said to him, "You see that bouncer right there? Can you please tell him not to grab ANYONE's ARM like that? Especially women?" You know what this guy said????... "You're gonna have to talk to him about it." I am going to find a way to get through to someone here but this is not going to be forgotten. I would understand if I was shoving people blocking the staircase, but I was not and the bouncer still decided to grab me. Horrible treatment of people here. I get it. The night is always chaotic. But this is really a disgusting way of treating people. I will not be coming back here. Save your money and night for a better club somewhere else.

There was a line to get in, but thankfully moved quickly. While the music was decent, and I did like the club layout, I do think a $40 cover is absurd. If there's a guest list or free entry before 11p, I'd recommend doing that.

This place has two rooms that usually plays different genre of music like one is more Latin and then the other ones more hip-hop R&B. The cover fee here is usually 30 to 35 which isn’t too bad. Though sometimes you get a 50-50 chance of having a good experience or bad one because the security are bias and there’s a lot of people who feel entitled. But the girl bartenders are quick and attentive. Honestly, it all depends on the crowd itself as well, it’s a mix of all ages. My friends and I tend to have a good time but that’s just us, it does tend to get a bit musky in there

You know, I went here well before writing reviews was widely used. I went here with my Caucasian girlfriends (2). We got to the door. I saw the Bouncers focusing in on me in particular as we approached and chattering amongst each other. I was in the back. I had my I.D out. They let my friends through, no problem. BEFORE I could even show my I.D., a Bouncer put his arm out and stopped me. "She can't come in". My friends already in, came back and were like why??? No answer, my friend was like just show your I.D., and come on. He wouldn't even look at it. My friends were like, "this seems very Racist" and waited for a reply from The Bouncers. No reply, we all just left. Don't put money in RACIST hands people. Too many other enormously fun places around.
