Beer, shots & cocktails in a laid-back neighborhood hangout with a pool table & sports on TV.
Some wonderful friends of ours got married in Reno this weekend (seen hugging in pic) and about 15 of us descended upon Shooters Saloon. We weren't sure about it at first because it's definitely more of a local watering hole with the long, wooden bar, tucked cozily in right on the strip. But the pool table, air hockey, juke box, and the comfy couches allowed for enough reason to at least try a drink. The bartender was helpful and responsive. The drinks were delicious. The prices were reasonable and the ambiance allowed for a night to remember! If you're looking for that local dive bar with enough room to move around for when you feeling frisky, you can even borrow one of the bars hula hoops and give it a whirl!
Open late with good music loud enough to enjoy. Good people. Dive bar vibes.
Editing this a year later - i walk in greeted nicely, bartender was amazing, super nice, asked what music we liked, 10/10 turn around from last year! Thank you Val for being inviting, fun, and your jello shots are amazing! My friend and I came in here about a month ago. The bartender was either cracked out, meth'd out, or smoked out. She couldn't make eye contact and when we asked for a simple mixed drink, she said she doesn't know how to do mixed drinks and for us to choose something simple. So we ask for two shots of tequila and she walks away raving about how two people didn't pay the day before and skipped out on their bill and when we know what we want, she'd pour it. We said literally just two shots of tequila and we have money. She then just went to the front of the jukebox and was mumbling to herself for 4 minutes until we decided to just go to another bar. 🤭
Our bartender 11/16/2024 was the best bartender I have had in a while. Great energy. Makes it hard to want to try other bars in town. Highly recommended bar close to the big casinos/resorts.
The best hidden gem in Reno. This is the perfect definition of a dive bar, good bartenders, cheap beer and fun company. They also have a few TVs for football and a pool table and air hockey in the back. They’ve got super good beer specials. We highly recommend you get a cherry bomb. (if you know, you know.) It is a nice relief from spending $10 a beer across the street at any of the casinos.
