What a great classy spot! Jeff is super friendly. So many drinks to choose from. Such a historic feel. True gem of jersey city hights.
Great bar. Friendly bartenders and a great atmosphere. Food is coming soon!
Love this neighborhood gem! The decor is cozy and stylish—perfect for a relaxed night out. Best espresso martini I ever had! The cheese platter and croquettes are a must-try. Great vibe all around!
I stopped in early in the evening and had such a great experience. I couldn’t decide which white wine to order, and the staff was so accommodating — they let me taste both options and even explained a bit about each one. My waiter was incredibly attentive the entire time. The vibe is pretty cool, and I can only imagine how lively it gets at night. It’s definitely in an up-and-coming area I wouldn’t normally think to visit, but I’m so glad I did.
Down-to-earth haunt featuring typical bar grub, beer, wine & cocktails, plus a patio.
Came here with some of my friends last week and we had a great meal. We got burgers, fries and some other meats. Now all 3 of my friends that came r Allison, bob, and Matt. They all work in an office and sit at a cubical all day. They definitely appreciate me taking them for dinner. We got here and it’s definitely a dive bar atmosphere I’m not used to that but it was a fun time. My friends gave it bad at home and me taking them out for dinner gave them time to vent. Allison said that her 14 yr old son crashed her car because she didn’t give him gas money, bob said that his wife tried to strangle him with her boot laces because he forgot to put soap in the washer and the clothes stunk, and Matt said that his husband did not pleasure him in bed as he had hoped for. Then all the sudden as we were eating Allison decided it would be a lovely time to start her period. She bled all over the chair so me , Matt and bob started to laugh and bully her. The staff was very helpful to her and we ended up just leaving after we ate. We were gonna stay for some beers but we decided we wanted to go home. Definitely come check this place out it’s worth ur time !
Take a trip back in time . New Jersey best burger . Best hidden bar. If you want to take you dad down memory lane this the place.
Familiar family-owned fixture with burgers & other bar staples, plus a jukebox & TVs showing sports.
Healy’s is not just a bar or Tavern! It is me and my girlfriends absolute favorite! The service is great and food is nice and prices are great! It is absolutely what you could ask from your cozy neighborhood bar!
Their cheesesteak was the strangest cheesesteak I’ve ever had. I ate it, but it was just super different from your typical thin slices, and was just kind of one long thin slice?
First time & definitely not my last, Angelo & Christina were so friendly, had a traditional beer Heineken & an awesome patty melt with amazing home made fries & onion rings see pictures below
This place has been around since the 1950s. It's a real bar/pub. It's nice inside with a long, welcoming bar and some tables scattered around. There is a nice outside space as well with views of lower Manhattan. There's a vintage firefighter theme with great old photos and lots of service patches on the walls. I went to watch Game 7 of the NBA Finals. It was my first (1st) visit. I was hoping this would be a good place to watch it. It was a quiet Sunday night. Plenty of TVs, lots of stools, and a very welcoming professional bartender. Plenty of booze and beer on tap. A nice food menu and reasonable prices all around. I asked for recommendations from that great bartender and he offered some of his top picks. I followed his advice and got the, "Mrs. O'Leary's Melt" version of a Paddy/Patty melt. With lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and side of onion rings. It was a really good, juicy burger on marble rye. The onion rings were solid. The guy to my left had an impressive looking pizza. The lady to my right was eating some tasty looking wings. The fantastic bartender had recommended those items as well. I'll definitely be going back to try those. Overall it was the perfect place to go watch the game. The men's room could use an upgrade. Looking forward to my next visit.
Cozy hangout offering familiar pub grub such as poppers & burgers, plus a full bar.
The cheerful praise is well deserved for this jc pub. Plenty of great bar food. The burger was one of the best I have had in jc. Wings were solid. Tons of beer options. But the best part is the overall comfy hometown vibes. If you’re within walking distance then you’re in luck as it is definitely a perfect local bar. The service is friendly and the people you meet super chill. Def will be back for brunch time! Ps- the music was fantastic. A supreme blend of Classic rock and pop hits.
What’s an Aggressive Mimosa? An XL mimosa w a splash of citrus vodka! At $11 it’s a steal! Although I didn’t get the best pic of my sandwich, it was really good. It’s heavy and kind of greasy so I would suggest sharing. The patio was perfect!
Not only do I appreciate that there were a few vegan/plant-based options for me, they were absolutely delicious and far better quality preparation than I've gotten at most other restaurants I've been to. Especially for a restaurant that has an omnivore menu - the vegan items were actually amazingly good! I got the seasoned fried tofu and cauliflower bites from the starter menu, and both my omnivorous boyfriend and his brother were also impressed with them. My boyfriend and his brother got meat items and also raved about how good their dishes were - not just the entrees but also the sides as well. We were also impressed that such good food came at a very affordable price. Our server (who may have been the owner) was very friendly and came to check on us multiple times while we were eating and refilled our water glasses. We came at an off-time, so it wasn't busy at all. There was music in the background but it wasn't super loud or anything, so we could comfortably have conversations with each other without needing to talk louder.
If you're in the mood for a casual brunch in the Jersey City/Hoboken area, The Horseshoe Kitchen & Bar might seem like a solid choice—but don't expect anything too groundbreaking. The atmosphere is one of its main draws. It's cozy and relaxed, with a decent amount of natural light flooding in from the open doors. The vibe is very much on the "chill weekend brunch" end of the spectrum, making it a great spot if you're looking for something low-key. The service is friendly but can feel a little slow during peak hours, so be prepared for a bit of a wait. When it comes to food, it’s perfectly fine but nothing to write home about. We ordered the Calcutta Noodles and the Grilled Chicken Rice Bowl and both were just average. The chicken Tikka Sliders were really good though. The cocktails are the usual mimosas and sangria's with option of wine, beers and coffee.
Rustic cocktail bar for classic drinks paired with a gamey menu of bar bites in dark wood digs.
Come for to drink, eat somewhere else. For those looking to make their liver work, the Monsieur Edouard is spicy and smokey, while the Craig St. Michael blends scotch with rum for a drink that's guaranteed to knock you on your behind. Or keep the last vestiges of summer alive with the tropical-themed Iguana Assembly, full of rum, tea punch and coconut lime. If you're sober or the night's DD, you'll enjoy the tart and fruity Blackberry Jab with lemon, pineapple, pomegranate, and of course, blackberry. However, save your stomach space for elsewhere. We were intrigued by the unique-sounding dishes (no mozzie sticks here, y'all) and excited to try them. But words on paper didn't translate to tastes on tongue--most things felt off or fell flat. - Duck Poutine: As someone born and raised in the Great White North, my arteries basically pump poutine (or are clogged by them, I'm not sure which anymore). So I was looking forward to this duck confit twist on my national dish. Unfortunately, what I got was an over-peppered cauldron of soggy fries with a few nubs of cheese curds in an oddly seasoned gravy. It might be the only time in my life I've pushed away a plate of poutine. No bueno. - Brussels Sprouts Caesar: This was fine, though I failed to taste any miso in the dressing. Generous portions size. - Spicy Elk Meatballs: Spicy tomato sauce, yes. But the elk again tasted over-peppered. And I'm all for trying new meats, but I'm not sure elk translates well as a meatball--too tough and chewy for my liking, even when drowning in aforementioned sauce. The accompanying swiss chard and goat cheese polenta weren't bad--wish there'd been more of those. Service was decent the first time we visited, but not so great the second time. It's also worth noting that the inside is DARK dark and the menu is via QR code, so prepare to blind everyone with your phone throughout the night unless you were bitten by a radioactive spider with night vision.
Always enjoy our time at The Archer! We usually come here for their expertly crafted cocktails and low key environment. The vibe is very hipster, but I like it. Love that they have bluegrass on certain days as well (check their Instagram)! The sakura sour is my favorite cocktail.
A cool spot offering a variety of sausage & beer in a rustic space with an old-school flair.
Another great German bar down in Jersey City Hoboken area. My nephew and his wife picked this place out since they live in Jersey City and what a great place to meet up beginning your evening or ending your evening. The bartender and wait staff were on point and very friendly with a great atmosphere. The selections of beers and cocktails were many and very tasty! I very much enjoyed the kiwi sour coconut beer weirdly enough, and had many of them. From salads to broths everything was excellent Thank you so much for lowly experience and will be back!!
Oops, ma bad. I forgot to review this sausage kingdom 'til now. Suffice it to say, if you're feeling "wurst" for wear (jajajaja), you should stop by here to get your protein fix. Bonus: Their Happy Hour runs 'til 7pm and you can get full-size $6 poutine then. Yuuuuum, says the Canadian in me. Other good eats include the classic Haus Dog, which is served with sauerkraut, mustard, pickled onions, and relish. Or channel your inner Sonic the Hedgehog with the Hot Diggity Dog, which comes with--you guessed it--housemade chili (along with cheese sauce, sour cream and Fritos). Mmmmm, gotta go fast!
Chill brick-walled bar serving unique takes on classic American dishes, plus an array of cocktails.
This spot was a sweet treat. Rating it a 4.8. I was looking for a last-minute spot to grab a drink to celebrate my sister's birthday and came across this location. I read that a waitress was let go for rushing orders, hope it wasn't Talia! She was awesome and patient with us first-timers. At first glance, the place is cozy, dark, and feels small-ish. Like a speakeasy feel. We were taken to our seats immediately. The plan was to order appetizers and drinks. We got just that! We ordered cocktails first, The Gabriella ($17) and Paper Plane ($15). The paper plane was perfect - not too sweet with a slight bitterness from the blood amara. The Gabriella was a tad too sweet, however. Our waitress was kind enough to change it to the Lolita ($17). Now for the appetizers, we ordered the Philly Cheesesteak egg rolls ($16) and Coconut shrimp tacos ($23). The egg rolls were the perfect savory bites with a great meat-to-roll ratio. But the cheese sauce paired with it was divine. I could have taken some sauce home. Lol So good! And last but not least, those tacos! Listen, I've had plenty of Coconut shrimps but this one was outstanding! The shrimp was juicy and coated with a sweet and spicy sauce, the mango Pico added that lovely texture and tart zing, and cilantro for a bit of fresh herbs. Omg, mouthwatering.. Lol, we enjoyed everything thoroughly. So glad we found this spot. Management, great job. Good food, staff, and nice atmosphere. 👍🏾
Dullboy is hands-down one of the best cocktail bars in Jersey City. We didn’t need a reservation and were able to grab a spot on their awesome patio—perfect for a chill night out. The vibes are absolutely immaculate: cozy, stylish, and effortlessly cool. The craft cocktails are next level. I tried The Amazing Grace and Regina—completely different flavor profiles but both equally delicious. You can tell they put real thought into the ingredients and balance. Food-wise, their burger and curly fries hit the spot, but the real standout was the coconut shrimp tacos—served on a purple tortilla that was as eye-catching as it was tasty. So good. All in all, it’s the perfect spot for a date night or just great drinks with a cool atmosphere. A must-visit in JC!
Hearty burgers, sandwiches & other comfort food in a relaxed eatery that has cocktails, wine & beer.
Love this spot! The food and drinks are always delicious and consistent. Its reasonably priced. The staff are all lovely. A neighborhood gem for sure. Keep doing what you’re doing👍
I had a breakfast burrito here in the spring and it was so good I think about it once a week. Drinks were great, shared an appetizer amazing. Love that they have inside and outside seating. Staff were awesome. Can’t wait to come back!
Global plates & tropical cocktails are served in a cool basement setting with funky decor.
Cellar 335 is a hidden gem with a vibrant tiki vibe and an impressive menu that delivers on flavor. We started with charred edamame, tender chicken skewers, and a fresh, flavorful tuna tartare—each dish bursting with bold, balanced tastes. For mains, the drunken noodles had the perfect kick, the chicken tikka masala was rich and comforting, and the avocado rice added a unique, satisfying twist. We ended on a sweet high with the velvety espresso mousse and moist banana cake. Every bite was delicious, and the atmosphere made it even better. A must-visit spot for fun cocktails and memorable bites!
This place has a warm and cozy atmosphere, making it a great spot for a casual date night. The Grilled Chicken Satay came as four skewers of chicken breast, and while it was a bit dry on its own, the peanut sauce really brought it to life. The Korean-style wings stole the show—crispy, slightly sweet, and topped with sesame seeds for an extra pop of flavor. While the food portions are on the smaller side, the quality and presentation make up for it. I also tried the Foam Dead Flowers IPA, which was light, subtly sweet, and a great pairing with the meal. If you’re looking for a cozy spot with friendly service, good drinks, and flavorful bites, this is a solid choice—especially for a date night!
I came at night to meet a friend and the bartender was eyeing me like I was one of the many crack heads that hang outside. I found him to be disrespectful and I think part of the reason is because I don’t dress like a drug dealer or have a knot of cash to flash around. Very tempted to give the place ONE STAR but then I remember the morning bartender who I patronized a few times being a kind humble young man. I also remember it’s a Black business in a area facing extreme gentrification. I want them to survive so I’m grading the bar on curve.
It was a great environment with good vibes a lot of people was coming and going they played nice music and the drinks were very affordable the bartender had a great sense of humour i laughed and joked all night as i watched the games on one of there multiple flat screens to sum it up i had a terrified evening last night at colubia tavern aka the dog house.
This has been an absolute experience! Every single time I've been here, without fail I've had a blast with my friends, with the hosts, and with the guests. The atmosphere is 10/10 + dart & pool!
I'm a simple man. I saw a burger, beer, and shot happy hour for $10 and went running. I was expecting a little burger for the price but it was a solid tasty one. An added plus is the good selection of craft beer on draft. The bartender Stefany was very welcoming and hooked me up with an unconventional old fashion that hit the spot paired with the burger. I thought this place was just the bar but I discovered there's another room with a pool table. I'll definitely back for that and the dart board.
Lively sports bar serving Portuguese fare & cocktails in cozy digs with TVs & boxing memorabilia.
Always a great time! Drinks and food are always perfect! Staff is always friendly and attentive! Always some 90s R&B on the jukebox. Usually pop in on Fridays and as the night progresse, it gets packed...so keep that in mind. Only thing to complain about is the parking but they do have a bigger lot I just found 2 store fronts down and also to long drive home, lol.
Delicious Portuguese food and delicious drinks , perfect sangria , great fast service and friendly bartenders
A cozy-chic locale with a heated patio offering elevated American plates, beer, wine & cocktails.
wow, what an experience, first of all warm welcome by Dan and the bartender. we were able to choose a table on a covered outdoor terrace.... very good atmosphere. Then a not too busy but completed menu that shows a mastery of dishes in cooking. we were not disappointed... on the dishes chosen, originality, mixes flavors.... price are corrects. I can't wait to come back and taste the other dishes. (Wine menu offers many varied choices) But still Irish beers or whiskey 😉. Congratulations to Carlos the chef in the kitchen and to Dan for this very good meals and friendly service. See you soon.
Went to The Hutton on a very hot and steamy night for some Music Bingo. We went early so we could get a drink and eat at the bar. The bartender was very friendly, the beer selection was good. I tried a couple of their speciality cocktails, the melon spritz was way too sweet. I asked for a Hugo Spritz and had to tell the bartender what it was ☹️. I ordered the fried chicken Naan sandwich with fries and my husband ordered the white pizza. He side the white pizza was okay but not worth $16. My chicken Naan sandwich was good but it was an entire chicken breast and could not be picked up and eaten. It was a fork and knife endeavor. It was tasty but not sure I would order it again. The music bingo was in the back, which is a beautiful enclosed outdoor area with a giant tree poking out the clear roof. But it was so hot out and there was no outdoor AC. The service in the back was so slow, it was painful. The bar area is lovely, warm and cozy. I want to love The Hutton but the food prices are too high and the food quality is just not there. I had been here previously over a year ago and had the same experience.
Junto Attic Bar is a cozy speakeasy in downtown Jersey City. It’s a tight space, so you may have to wait to be seated, but it’s worth it. Cocktails are made with care, and if nothing on the menu floats your boat, the Dealer’s Choice option lets the bartender craft a custom drink based on your preferences. We had a blast trying different drinks (with great music in the background too)!
This is a romantic spot for dates, or a cute spot for catching up with a few close friends. The drinks are really good, and the service is excellent! Love the decor and the small cozy space. Stop in for some cocktails.
Industrial-chic Irish-style pub serving bar bites & burger mains, plus craft brews & spirits.
As big fan of the original The Dead Rabbit, I knew that I had to try the new concept now in Jersey City. I had the irish coffee and while I was a little skeptical about the tequila in it, let me tell you that it was amazing! Such a vibrant combination. I only tried the “queso fundido” and me and my friend loved it. Our server was “Nel” I believe, and she was so nice and attentive. The place was basically full on a Thursday night with a live dj, and the vibe was so fun! Can’t wait to come back
I really wanted to love this place as I’ve seen it on Instagram and was excited for the concept however yesterday was my first and most likely my last time here. The restaurant decor is beautiful, lots of vibrant colors and modern touches that make it visually stunning and perfect for photos. The atmosphere felt welcoming, with a lively crowd and upbeat music that matched the aesthetic. I ordered the birria tacos, which I was really excited to try, unfortunately, they fell short of expectations. The tortillas were soggy, and the meat lacked the rich, savory flavor I was hoping for. The menu states “hand made tortilla” and they indeed WERE NOT HAND MADE, these are definitely those tortillas that come in the package. The tacos barely had any toppings as you can see in the pictures. There was also no consomme, which is usually paired with Birria tacos anywhere you go, I knew this ordering but I did find that interesting . For the price, of 18 dollars for the 3 little tacos, I expected a lot better. The tacos were really disappointing which prompted me to write this review. I find it very hard to believe any of their food to be good as alot of these reviews state, when you can’t get simple tacos right. While the vibe is great for social media, the food didn’t live up to the hype. Drinks were okay, I had the Jamaica drink and the sol y raiz. If i consider coming back to try the rest of their drinks, some of which sounded unique, i will make sure to have something to eat before hand. If you’re looking for good Mexican food you’re better off going to taqueria downtown or taco drive a few blocks away.
Standard, large pub offering a menu of beers, burgers, ribs & more, plus trivia, DJs & sports on TV.
I got chicken wings, rosemary fries, and mozzarella sticks but none of these tasted like restaurant quality. The server was really nice and the atmosphere wad beautiful but they need to work on their food quality. Wings came out so dry and overcooked so we asked re-make it again, and they were nice enough to re make it. Still I could feel that chicken is not fresh. I could tell the oil is not fresh either from fries. Their homemade cheese sticks had very thick batter and the cheese inside didnt melt enough. Beer was good but I don’t understand why their wings have such good reviews.
Solid sports bar with good wings. We ordered three traditional wing flavors: buffalo, O'Hara's special sweet and spicy, and parmesan garlic. The O'Hara special flavor was by far the favorite of the group. I would not order the artichoke dip again as it was quite watery and tasted about the same as a frozen option from the grocery store. Although they have a great beer menu I was disappointed that my two preferred beers were unavailable to order (Blue Moon and cold snap). All things considered, I'd come back for the wings and the sports bar atmosphere.
Grace O’Malley’s is an awesome spot right across from Porta on Grove—super convenient and a perfect place to crush some beers and catch a game. It’s got that classic Irish pub feel: no frills, just a solid, welcoming atmosphere. Drink prices are great, especially for the area, and the staff was friendly and on point the whole time. We didn’t try the food this time, but we’ll definitely be back for it soon. If you’re after a chill vibe, cold beer, and a place to hang with friends or watch some sports, Grace O’Malley’s is a no-brainer.
One of the chillest spots in Jersey City. I’ve stopped by Grace O’Malley’s a couple times while staying overnight in the area, and it’s hands down one of the best bars around. Great atmosphere, friendly bartenders, and a solid crowd. The Old Fashioned was spot on. Right in the heart of the party district, but feels more relaxed than some of the louder spots nearby. If I’m back in Jersey City, I’ll definitely return.
Spacious, brick-walled hangout offering hearty pub fare, live jazz, open-mike events & karaoke.
Went there on a Monday night to meet some people and was extremely happy we did. It was JAZZ NIGHT, and we were seated immediately. Our friends showed up, and we ordered drinks, appetizers, and various meals and drinks. The band tonight was OUTSTANDING. At one point, there were 10 musicians playing, and it all fit together. We met the owner, Tommy, who made us feel like old friends. The Brightside Tavern is a real gem, and if you're looking for a night out, lunch, or Sunday brunch, this is the place to go.
The food was bad and overcooked and reheated. The owner came up to our table and told us how the food wasn't going to be free even though we said we would pay. He was rude about and walked away when we said we just wanted the bill.
Keyhole emerged as a delightful surprise for our nightcap, offering not only pocket-friendly drinks but also the warmth and attentiveness of a fantastic bartender. The economical pricing of their drinks was a welcomed discovery, ensuring a delightful evening without straining the wallet. The bartender's charm and attentiveness added a personal flair, turning our visit into a truly hospitable experience. A quick note for future patrons: Keyhole operates on a cash-only basis, so come prepared. Despite this small consideration, the overall positive ambiance, reasonable prices, and exceptional service make Keyhole a spot I'll gladly revisit for future nightcaps
Charming dive bar in Jersey City, New Jersey that fits the bill for your local watering hole. No glitz or glamor, but a ton of charm this bar is a place where you can unwind and catch up with friends. The "keyhole" windows are a nice touch to play to the name.
Easygoing tavern pairing draft beer & cocktails with burgers & pub fare in a simple space with TVs.
I’ve been coming to Corkscrew Bar and Grill for years, and Nadine really stood out to me. The first time she served me it was busy, but she still greeted me with a big smile and made sure I was taken care of right away. What impressed me most was that the next time I came in, she already remembered my name and my drink — that kind of attention makes a big difference. She also made me the best Bloody Mary I’ve ever had, perfectly balanced and full of flavor. Even when the bar is packed, she’s quick, efficient, and still makes everyone feel welcome. I also guess they have a new burger or something because she even pulled out a light from her purse and took pictures of it and you can tell when a bartender CARES. Love this place and the food is always AMAZING. Chef that’s there on Sundays is awesome.
First time but certainly not the last. I walked in on a Saturday afternoon and they were slammed with a 9-top, 80% full indoor, and a full patio (nice spring day). But the bartender/server absolutely KILLED IT. Handled the entire restaurant alone. Her speed, grace and focus were incredible. Latina and lively. Always positive and laughing, engaging with the customers, polite but honest on service times, attentive to everyone. Familiar with the locals and welcoming to new-comers like me. I would give 5-stars on her performance alone. Her staff in the back was great too, whipping out orders as fast as possible. Excellent team effort. Honestly can’t say enough with how impressed I was. And that’s not to mention the food/drink. I wanted an IPA, was recommended two, eventually tried both, both delicious. (Neglected my 2nd, but wouldn’t let me drink a ‘flat’ beer, so she topped me off with a fresh pour - A+) I got the Smokehouse Burger and it was fantastic. Cooked perfectly (med.-well) and that mix of BBQ sauce with spicy aioli? I mean wow. The bun was A+, butter toasted and fresh. The Cajun fries were a little salty but the Cajun seasoning had a delicious kick. Only complaint is that the sauce that came with the fries didn’t look very appetizing but upon trying was actually very tasty. Overall food and drink were A+. Well done Corkscrew. A great time with amazing service and delicious food. A true treasure to the community. Will be back with friends, and will recommend to everyone I know. Thank you.
Busy European-style venue with self-serve German & American grub, 100+ beers & live music.
Big place. Great for watching games. Outdoor space. Plenty of beer options. I highly recommend Tuesday night hot dog specials with a ton of really good fries. Free fries when you order two (2) hot dogs. I tried three (3) different dogs the Chili Cheese dog, Jersey Ripper, and the New York Classic. Good options and fair prices. Otherwise, the Wings are disappointing, the special Beef Goulash was dry, and the Chicken Schnitzel with Mushroom Sauce, Potato Salad, and Spätzle was good.
Franco is the best! We had a great time at Happy Hour here (sliders and pretzels were 🔥) and look forward to the next one! 🍻🥨🍔
Popular, dimly lit joint offers a wide range of whiskeys, BBQ, bar bites, DJs & jukebox.
This place is where the beer’s cold, the vibes are weird, and the bathroom graffiti might just offer better life advice than your therapist. It’s a glorious mess of cheap drinks. We enjoyed it!
I tried three beers—two were average, and the best one was non-alcoholic. The place has its own unique vibe. It’s a good spot to drop by for a drink, but it’s more suited for meeting up with friends than for discovering new flavors.
Longtime bar featuring happy-hour specials, casual American bites & a throwback vibe.
Cherry Lounge Restaurant is a hidden gem! From the moment I walked in, the vibe was welcoming and laid-back with great music and a cozy atmosphere. The food was incredible — flavorful, fresh, and beautifully plated. I tried the mac and cheese, and every bite was top tier. The staff was friendly and attentive, making sure everything was perfect. Definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to — perfect for a chill night out or catching up with friends. Highly recommend!
I've been to this spot twice now, and unfortunately, it’s been a hit or miss each time. The Oxtail Rasta Pasta had potential, but it was way too salty to really enjoy. The food quality is inconsistent, which is disappointing, especially when you’re expecting something great. On top of that, the service could use some improvement. The waitress always seems to have an attitude whenever there’s a complaint, and it’s clear she struggles with handling larger parties. This was the same experience both times I visited, and it definitely took away from the overall vibe. I’d love to see some improvements here, but I’m not sure if I’ll be coming back again.
Draft hour serving craft brews & Eastern European–inspired fare including house-smoked meats.
Love Hudson Hall! It’s one of the best spots in Jersey City to catch a game—huge space, great energy, and the kind of place that’s perfect for a rainy afternoon of sports and beer. Their wing special during games is a major win—steep discounts on their smoked wings, which are seriously tasty. The rest of the food is solid too, and their beer selection is exactly what you’d want from a sports bar: varied, cold, and reliable. That said, service can be slow if you’re seated, and they really pack those benches in, so be ready to get cozy. Still, this place is a true JC staple, and one I always look forward to going back to.
Great staff in the smaller back bar, looked after our table in a big crowd watching the Knicks final game. Food was great and the beer options were strong. Only gripe was having to reserve tables at the main bar for a game when the website says the opposite.
Sleek, modern gay bar & rooftop lounge featuring American eats, weekend drag shows & DJ music.
Nice chill spot for our people love taco Tuesday tacos be so good and if you come late it's be nice and empty just vibing other than that love the weekends here with friends or solo
Great roof top bar and lounge. We enjoyed drinks at sunset on the roof top and also the Saturday drag brunch, the show was fun. There was only one queen able to perform but she did a great job engaging with the whole lounge. The food was delicious and the service was great. We loved the drink specials and brunch menu. We really enjoyed both visits and can’t wait to return again soon.
Are both lovely and extremely elegant restaurant this place should be your next spot for a birthday, date night, or even a girls night out! The drinks are exceptional. I highly recommend the smoked old-fashioned, and a dirty martini! The apps are small enough if you eat on your own, but big enough to share if you do not want to get full, I recommend ordering a bunch of appetizers to share! The sandwiches were incredible. One of the best cheeseburgers I’ve ever had, and the French dip was to die for! They have pool tables and leather couches that are extremely comfortable, you guys gotta check this place out.
We visited The District on a snowy Saturday night and was surprised to find it nearly empty. Maybe the weather kept people away, but given that it’s been open for about six months, I was surprised it wasn't busier. Granted, I personally hadn’t heard of it before this day. That said, the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. Service was definitely a highlight of the experience. The menu leans toward steakhouse fare, and while the food was solid, I’d probably still choose a dedicated steakhouse if I was craving steak. One standout, though, was the fries—fresh, crispy, and easily a highlight of the meal. Keep ensuring these are made to order- fabulous! The appetizers were good, but a small detail stood out: the portions were uneven, which made sharing a bit awkward. Since many diners come in pairs (date nights, etc.), serving even-numbered portions would make more sense. For those who enjoy games, the restaurant features three large pool tables, which would be great for groups. Personally, I’d love to see a dart area added, as pool isn’t really my thing. Overall, The District has potential, and with a bit more buzz and a few tweaks, it could become a go-to spot in Jersey City. Would I return? Maybe—especially with an addition of a dart board and for made to order fries.
Cozy, modern gastropub serving updated American classics, plus craft beer, wine & cocktails.
Charming spot with a classic bistro vibe. The tacos were tasty, and we tried the shrimp, fish, and chicken — the fish and chicken were definitely the winners. The shrimp was okay but needed a bit more punch. Overall, the dishes could use a little extra dressing or seasoning to really shine, but everything was fresh, especially the chicken. The crème brûlée was smooth and not overly sweet, which was nice, but the cream could’ve had a bit more flavor, and the brûlée top needed a stronger caramelized crunch. Lovely atmosphere and a nice place to enjoy a casual bistro meal.
If you want a really good seafood, this is the place! The crab bites are SO good. We ordered the perfect storm (snow crab leg, black mussels, shrimp, potatoes and corn) - it was so good! Heavy though so be prepared ✨ I wish the music was nicer ;)
I stopped by Wing Bar on a random Friday night after a long week, just looking for something quick and comforting—and ended up discovering a new favorite. As soon as I walked in, the smell alone had me excited. The vibe is super chill, like the kind of neighborhood spot you just know the locals love. I ordered the buff chicken Sandwich and the Buffalo wings with a side of fries, and let me just say: PERFECTION. The wings were saucy on the outside, juicy inside, and that sauce? Ridiculously flavorful. You can tell they don’t skip on seasoning here. What really made it memorable was the staff. One of the guys behind the counter saw I looked tired and cracked a joke that had me laughing way harder than expected. It’s rare to find food and energy that good in the same place. I left full, in a better mood, and already planning my next visit. If you’re a wing lover—or just need a little pick-me-up meal—this spot is IT. 🔥🍗
I visited from Philly during MET Gala weekend while visiting my girlfriend and had the best time! The atmosphere is so Jersey, cozy, & with some outside tables for addional space during the season. I went during happy hour where there were drink specials, a shot and a beer special, and on Tuesdays, chicken fingers......the huge, juicy chicken fingers were only $2 each. Plus, you could get so many flavor choices! The staff was cool and the bartenders were nice and could fix a great cocktail. They made my experience what it was. I enjoyed the music, the vibe and Im coming back for an August visit on purpose. So Ill see yall soon!!
Diverse dishes highlighting locally sourced ingredients paired with cocktails & waterfront views.
This place was absolutely gorgeous. The energy, vibe, ambiance was great. Came at the end of brunch so ordered mimosa flights. They were so good. The food and the view was also amazing. Was really a chill time and the service was definitely A1. The server wasn't doing to much. This place also has outdoor seating but it was just too windy to be outside. The old fashioned tasted just right and grabbed the steak and egg combo, which did not disappoint. I want to come back for dinner and try the dinner menu. Yes, the food varies depending on what time of day you come but I enjoyed the brunch menu. If you can find parking, good luck. I just parked in the paid parking next to it.
8/29 The views of New York City are undeniably stunning, but the service left much to be desired. Our server was inattentive—I waited over 30 minutes for a cocktail, didn’t receive silverware until after the food had gone cold, and had to repeatedly flag someone down despite the restaurant not being busy. On the bright side, the oysters were very fresh, and while some appetizers felt a bit mismatched, they were decent. The lamb chops with garlic mashed potatoes were absolutely outstanding. Unfortunately, the short rib polenta was a major letdown—completely lacking in seasoning and flavor. In the end, it feels clear that what you’re really paying for here is the incredible view, rather than the overall dining experience. Update: 9/20 I came back for brunch with my son, and he declared it the best brunch he’s ever had—and trust me, my 12-year-old has an exceptional palate. The food arrived hot and in a timely manner. Our server who was amazing recommended the mimosa flight, which was absolutely worth it. The highlight, though, was the cinnamon roll French toast—it was so good I ordered another to take home. This visit was an even better experience than before, and I’d easily give it a 10/10.
Stylish gastropub featuring elevated American fare, cocktails, and a patio with river vistas.
The food and service here were excellent. The menu choices had variety. My favorite was the Charlotte's Ping Pong Waves dessert, served on a mini ferris wheel. They were delicious and fun little donuts filled with vanilla and nutella, sprinkled with cinnamon sugar. Be careful though because they come out HOT. The view from the dock of Manhattan was just beautiful. Our server had great recommendations for us as far as what to try. We will be back next time we hit Jersey City for sure!
Hudson & Co. is an absolute gem right on the waterfront. The atmosphere is always lively yet comfortable, with some of the best views of Manhattan you’ll find anywhere in Jersey City. The food is consistently excellent—everything from the apps to the mains is fresh, well-prepared, and beautifully presented. Cocktails are top-notch as well, crafted with care and creativity. The service really stands out too. The staff is attentive without being overbearing and always makes you feel welcome. Whether it’s a casual dinner, drinks with friends, or hosting out-of-town guests, Hudson & Co. delivers every time. It’s such a perk having this spot right in the area—I find myself coming back again and again. Highly recommend!
Amazing views from rooftop bar, great place to get together with friends. I came with a group of 20+, there was plenty of picnic bench type seating, staff were superb, food & drinks were great, I loved the Pina Colada in a pouch 😋 A memorable evening of music, dancing & fun!
Really nice people who worked there and extremely attentive. Wonderful open vibe upstairs on the roof.
Stylish outpost with a patio offering a coffee shop, wine bar, speakeasy & New American bistro.
The staff and bartenders are very friendly and nice! Patrons are also friendly. The happy hour $2.25 shrimp tacos are good. They come in orders of four. Drinks are okay. Lively atmosphere and good music. You need a code to get into the bathroom.
Decided to come around noon to try their 8.95 breakfast special and was helped by Allen. He was pleasant and respectful. The store is clean, bright and breezy during the day and makes you forget about how dirty grove street area is! The burrito was filling and came with crispy home fries AND they offered free coffee which was decent! They even had oat milk. You really can’t beat the price especially in this area
American fare & cocktails in a contemporary space with a retractable glass roof & skyline views.
Amazing view, ambience drinks and appetizers. I Had a lovely afternoon sharing with my mom, my aunt and my cousin. We loved it, we talked so much. The only thing is if you are looking to spend a lot time you can’t. Meaning, the seating area it’s for 90mnts for the direct view area, then if you would like to stay, you can go to the bar. But for us 90mnts was enough ; we took beautiful pictures and enjoy the view.
One Exchange Place Rooftop – The rooftop has amazing NYC skyline views and the food is really good. Drinks are solid too, but everything is definitely on the expensive side. They also have a strict 90-minute seating limit, which feels rushed if you’re trying to enjoy a relaxed evening. Great spot for the view, but not the best if you’re looking to hang out longer.
Down-home Southern dishes & clever cocktails whipped up in a rustic setting with eclectic decor.
Excellent experience and food! They also have a bar downstairs that is more chill for some more social drinks after dinner! It is a loud environment so sit towards the back if needed for easier conversation
i remember coming here a few months ago and enjoying the experience. i specifically wanted some loaded fries but i was told they only serve it during certain times, which makes no sense to me. the mac and cheese was bland but the server did ask if i wanted hot sauce with it (which is weird…). the chicken in the salad was very rubbery. very chewy and gross. i will say that the servers were really nice. i don’t think i’ll be coming back here which is a shame because i used to enjoy the place!
Informal neighborhood hangout serving standard pub grub, along with BBQ chicken & rib platters.
Abbey’s was great. Prices are amazing, I had a beer and a giant quesadilla for 20$ this was super convenient cause I was going to a concert at White Eagle Hall and it was a five minute walk max. It’s a cute little dive with a really nice bartender and decent food with good prices in a good area. Perfect for before a concert.
Lucy is the best. Recommend the best drinks and she gives good service. I love the hookah. Also they have pool table
We had a reservation on a Friday night, when we arrived, the host was enjoying a cocktail totally unbothered at the hostess stand, very unprofessional. The group standing in line ahead of us left which should have been a sign. The host was busy chatting with guests at the bar while drinking himself instead of seating us right away, There was only one waiter on staff for the hold space, we weren’t offered water until 15 mins waiting at the table. We ended up going upstairs for dinner and drinks instead for faster service, the menu was pretty similar anyway. I wouldn’t recommend this place, it had so much potential.
Very cute speakeasy bar with great atmosphere in Jersey city. Went here for some drinks and a quick snack. My favorite drink was number 23, it had a “fall margarita” flavor. The appetizers were tasty but small and it’s hard to fit them in the table but overall it was a great experience.
Spacious, warmly-lit stop with high ceilings offering New American fare plus cocktails, beers & TVs.
My first visit here wasn’t the best, but this time around completely made up for it. We were seated right away with no wait, and since the weather was nice, we chose to sit outside. The ambiance is solid—relaxed but lively. If you’re not on a date, I’d even suggest bringing a card game to pass the time. We happened to come on Taco Tuesday and didn’t even know it. The deal runs 7pm to close, with a 3-taco minimum across the board: • $2 chicken or steak tacos • $3 shrimp tacos • $4 short rib tacos • $5 Coronas / Modelos • $7 margaritas (regular, spicy, mango) • $7 Palomas I had two strawberry margaritas that were strong, smooth, and worth every dollar. To start, I ordered the crispy calamari—it came out fried perfectly, not chewy, just the right crunch. My friend had wings, and those were good too. But the highlight was definitely the chicken tacos. Served with onions, cilantro, and salsa verde, they were flavorful, filling, and cooked just right. I skipped the cheese and sour cream, but they still hit. We originally planned on entrées, but the tacos were so good and filling that we didn’t need more. It wasn’t overly crowded, the food and drinks hit the spot, and overall this visit left a much better impression. I’d definitely come back.
Went to The Ashford because I heard great things about their brunch and rooftop area. Conner,Kenny, Brandon thank you so much for your exceptional service! You made my birthday a very happy one and my friends & I really enjoyed ourselves! For food we tried the steak and eggs, the chicken and waffles, chicken sliders, and the hangover burger ! The hangover burger was the star of the show , it was flavorful and delicious! Brunch ends at 4 so get there early enough to order and to also enjoy their $3 mimosas! The hangover burger is available on the dinner menu as well. The rooftop was full when we initially tried to go up so we ended up eating on the main level and going up afterwards. It was beautiful weather and the DJ was playing great music, old and new hits! We enjoyed frozen drinks out of pineapples 🍍 I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at The Ashford! Thank you guys again !!
Super cute bar! Love the interior design and the vibe. The view is great and the bar is beautiful. Also plenty of cute booths. I love the intimate, luxurious feel. The cocktails are amazing and so are the appetizers. This may become one of my go to hangout spots!
Don’t Tell Liv is an absolute standout! This new spot brings upscale yet effortlessly cool vibes right to the heart of Newark Ave. From the moment I walked in, I was impressed by the sleek ambiance and the welcoming staff who made the experience even better. The Purple Velveteen was a showstopper—an absolute must-try for Mezcal lovers. The bar itself is stunning, with plenty of space to relax and enjoy expertly crafted cocktails. Whether you’re looking for a chic night out or a go-to spot for great drinks, this place delivers. Highly recommend!
Nice cocktail bar. Cool vibe, very dark and moody with neon lighting. I didn’t really love any of their cocktail offerings however the bartender was more than willing to make us something off-menu. The bar itself is well stocked, but don’t expect any super niche or extravagant liquors or amaros. Bartender and other staff were super friendly!
This place is amazing, the vibes, music and staff were very friendly. I came In with all my friends to celebrate our friend’s birthday. Our waitress was Madison she was very helpful in helping us decide what to get with great suggestions. Service was impeccable, and she was gorgeous! The bartenders make great drinks. DJ comes on after 9pm and love that they play Spanish music here. Will be back soon ! Also GET THE CORNBREAD!
