*Hidden Gem Alert** Not just a bar! Go in and grab a pound of clay and a cocktail and play. This has to be one of the smartest ideas for a pub. It was such a fun, genuine and interactive Santa Fe experience! Whether your a beginner or a professional at pottery/clay work, it is so worth the stop to make your Santa Fe trip memorable. We went in with no pottery experience and we felt right at home and made some goofy creations and had a blast. This was the best date night. The pub is filled with the owners (local potter’s) incredible art. Every cup they served us drinks in was handmade by the owners. The cocktails, beers and even non-alcoholic drinks were all delicious. They also have an awesome seasonal cocktail menu! I tried the iced tai tea and the sunset lager and both were fantastic. The bartender was so friendly, helpful and informative!

Well, I've not played with any clay here yet, but I have had some nice drinks and bought some bottles for gifts. Really great people, cool atmosphere, and definitely a fun concept. I mean come on now, who wouldn't want to drink whiskey out of tiny pottery?!

I usually love coming here to hang out with friends—the atmosphere is great and the crowd is always really chill. Unfortunately, the past few visits have been disappointing because of the service. Most of the staff are fine, but the bartender with the black ponytail and beard has been consistently unfriendly. On our most recent visit, my husband and I felt like we were being given attitude the entire night. When we went up for another round, he was sitting and chatting instead of taking orders, and even when he made eye contact with us, he turned away. When he finally did come over, he was curt and dismissive. I’ve worked in the service industry for five years, so I fully understand how hard the job can be and that everyone deals with difficult customers. But in this case, we were polite, patient, and respectful—always saying please and thank you. It was frustrating that the experience still felt targeted and demeaning. I really do enjoy this place and don’t want one person to ruin the experience, but it’s hard not to when the service feels like this.

Such an awesome experience here. The beer tender Isaac was friendly and so kind. He gave us some great local tips and we were so grateful! The beer is phenomenal!! We tried the Social Hour, Experimental Hour, Fhazy & loved them all! We enjoyed it so much, we bought a 6 pack to go and will go buy more before heading back to Fort Collins. And we are from the Napa of breweries. I highly suggest this one to enjoy good beer, awesome food trucks, friendly service and a great outdoor space!

We had a great meal here upon recommendation from a friend who knows Santa Fe and enjoys dining out. The food was creative while still being approachable and delicious! Everything was fresh and flavorful with local ingredients. I had the butter lettuce salad and the lobster and my partner had the sea bass entree. The corn bread with three types of butter was delicious also. Great cocktails as well! Our waiter was the best: friendly, knowledgeable, and professional.

I had an incredible experience at Coyote Cafe! The service was absolutely top-notch—everyone was quick to help, genuinely kind, and wonderfully friendly. The food was outstanding across the board. I enjoyed the grilled quail and elk tenderloin, both cooked to perfection, and we finished with a bittersweet chocolate dessert that was just as impressive. What makes Coyote Cafe truly special is the creativity of the chefs—the dishes aren’t just meals, they’re unique culinary creations that you simply couldn’t replicate at home. Every plate incorporated vibrant, thoughtful elements that elevated the experience. The atmosphere was perfect, making the evening feel both warm and sophisticated. My only critique is that the wine list was on the pricier side—but to be fair, the selections were excellent and it didn’t detract from the overall experience. Highly recommend Coyote Cafe for anyone wanting a truly unique and memorable dining experience.

A perfect little spot, with friendly attentive staff, and excellent drinks. The dry menu is impressive, the variety of handcrafted premium cocktails is worth an exploration. They often host great small scale music on the weekends. To me, this is one of the best of Santa Fe, hands down. Old world charm, elegance, but welcoming of everyone.

Last time that we were in Santa Fe (2 or 3 years ago), we stumbled into this little bar and decided that we would stay in the connected lodge on our next visit because we enjoyed the bar so much! We--finally--made it back to town and are glad to say that our memories served us well! Incredible bar, these drinks are well-balanced, original, and phenomenal! Also...incredible hotel, incredible grounds, incredible hot tub....when can I move in and start a little restaurant here?!

Stopped in for a pre dinner drink on a Tuesday night. Super friendly bar tender. Great vibe and strong drinks.

The Matador is everything a dive bar should be: dark, loud, a little unhinged, and absolutely perfect. Carla was behind the bar slinging drinks like a legend! Sharp pours, no nonsense, and the best playlist I’ve heard in a decade. It was like my 1st gen iPod got reincarnated and found its way to Santa Fe. We are from out of state. The crowd? Cool without trying. Vibes? Filthy in the best way. If you’re looking for overpriced cocktails and LED walls, keep walking. But if you want a stiff drink, a killer soundtrack, and the kind of night that leaves your ears ringing and your soul soothed, this is your church. Long live the hole-in-the-wall. Long live The Matador. And long live Carla. Thanks for everything! Much love!

We weren’t familiar with Mexican food before visiting this restaurant, but the staff kindly explained the menu and helped us choose what we might like. The food came out really fast, and the service was excellent. I especially loved the queso with chips—it was rich, creamy, and absolutely addictive. My wife ordered a plate of three different tacos, and they were completely different from any tacos we’ve had before. The flavors were bold, spicy, and surprisingly reminded us of Korean food in the best way. It was a deliciously fiery experience! This restaurant completely changed the way we think about Mexican food. Now I genuinely wish we had a traditional Mexican restaurant like this near the city where we live. I’ll definitely visit again if I ever come back to Santa Fe, NM!

The food was excellent. We had the Adovada and the green chili chowder. Both were delicious. By far, the service was outstanding. Our drinks were full before we even asked. The atmosphere was one you could find in any type of pub setting. (It was fine) I would highly recommend El Charro.

Sat down at this bar/restaurant after getting a massage nearby and they were really weird about not giving me alcohol because I only had a pic of my passport. I was disappointed but I certainly understood that it wasn’t the staff’s fault. The first woman (dark hair, pretty star earrings) “helping” me wasn’t very nice but was very apologetic then I saw her complaining/gossiping to coworkers or whatever (an older lady with wine red hair) & waved her over because I wanted to get food to go. But instead, the lady she was talking to came up which was definitely kinda weird (like I saw her tell the first one that I wanted something and the first one just DIPPED didn’t even look my way) then HER attitude was BAD and extremely uncomfortable. I immediately just told her “everything is fine. It really is” and tried to give her a reassuring smile but she looked back at me like she wanted to tell me leave or something. I asked if I could have the steak to go and she asked how I’d like it cooked so I said “rare”…she goes “RARE?!” & I was so confused I asked “is that alright?” and she said it was. Sitting at this dirty table that wasn’t cleaned before I sat down and looking around at this cold awkward staff…I couldn’t wait to leave. But I’d love to try the place next door! The place next door was where I actually wanted to go but they were fully booked. I didn’t even eat at the place next door and their host was 1000x friendlier than anyone at this bar. Definitely wouldn’t recommend this bar AT ALL. Food & service is NOT worth it. I never even got a water:( I probably shouldn’t have tipped but I just feel bad for hostile employees like them because I don’t know what their work environment is like and what makes them so toxic. Maybe they don’t get paid enough to care about being kind? Even though I wouldn’t recommend this bar in particular, the restaurant across from it was stunning with beautiful windows & I’d definitely recommend the spa down the hall(pricey but worth it). Got home & now I have to add that the steak was definitely well done instead of rare…which after the way the staff behaved seems likely to be deliberate as well. I wouldn’t be surprised if this staff also does other awful things to the food of people they didn’t like. Probably not very safe to even eat this steak…

My mother & I stopped by tonic during Lent and Weston prepared two of the best nonalcoholic cocktails we have ever had. He asked us about flavor profiles we enjoyed and then proceeded to whip up magic in beautifully stemmed glassware. The vibe inside of the bar was a nice balance of cozy & chic. Plenty of visuals to enjoy. Highly recommend stopping in.

Was highly recommended the spot by a local goal. Such an awkward experience. Show up an little early I guess and got screamed at for going near the pool tables. The locals at the bar laughed at us for the mistake. Super super super awkward and would never recommend this to anyone in town and would highly recommend going to Desert dogs to play pool. They were so welcoming and kind there compared to this establishment.

These people giving this place five stars are absolutely insane or have never been to good places before. One of the only local places in the center of Santa Fe. Bar with music and old-school vibe for sure.. Owner wants to be rude and is successful in that endeavor. It’s one of those places that you go in and you know the bartender is gonna be rude and they don’t really want you there but they Beautiful have live music and you’re in Santa Fe. That’s all this place is. Stop in if you’re in town, but don’t expect anything but what the negative reviews say. If you order a Whiskey or tequila they may pull up the well bottle and pour iit as if it is what you actually ordered so be careful.

Very disappointed. Atmosphere has changed. Beers were good. However, NOT a family friendly place anymore, they don’t seem to want parents with young kids to be here. Might as well just put a sign on the door or online that says NO KIDS. This is also shown by not having the pin ball machines or cartoons along the back wall anymore, now it’s just a blank ugly space. Bartender & customers don’t want “kid” noise and clearly it’s a place that just wants adults. I’ve lived in SF for over 6 years and had been here a few times, each time we brought our kids (8yr & 5yr) and didn’t have any problems, and enjoyed ourselves saying we’d continue to come back, so was excited to come again to meet friends passing through town to celebrate a birthday together. We would always take tables toward the back corner windows to respect others and distance our group. Our kids and their friends were NEVER unsupervised and would alternate between low-key drawing activities at the table, to a small movement game close to our table. If we felt them getting too rowdy we’d intervene. It WAS NOT busy. So we felt very targeted when a customer from the bar specifically walked over to complain to us about the kids “distributing his ability to just enjoy his beer after a long day at work,” and apparently another couple at the bar had a problem too because then the bartender tried to stop serving us and pointed to the “keep children supervised” sign. We had been nothing but good respectful customers with a large tab, and did not deserve to be treated this way. If you have kids and need a place to unwind and gather with friends DO NOT come here. Find a different place. Very sad about this and WILL NOT be coming again.
