My husband and I ate here on a Saturday. We walked in very shortly after they opened, so the place was completely empty. We were seated right away, and the waitress took very good care of us... Now the food; the grits were the best I have ever eaten. Truly. The fried chicken was crispy, hot, and fresh. I was able to get Texas Pete seasoning on my fries, and it was so good! I have never seen that on any menu before. After we ate, we played pool, darts, and a few arcade games that were in the game room. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and can't wait to go back.

First…. The food…. Every bite of everything is IMMENSE pleasure! It’s Southern cooking raised to an exquisite level of perfection! I was at a private event for about 40 people upstairs with a buffet. The first thing I saw was the CORNBREAD and OMG it was thick, moist, rich, and I savored every bite. Everything on the buffet was packed with FLAVOR! Our attentive, always-smiling server was Ty, and we were so fortunate she was assigned to us! I was a co-host of the event and she knew where everything was and she communicated so well with us as well as with other staff to get whatever we needed quickly. There are stairs involved to get to the private-event area and she did not mind the countless ups and downs. Easy Public Parking is right across the street for $3 in the large parking lot of the now-closed 42nd Street Oyster Bar (to pay you have to scan the QR code on the sign at the street after you’ve parked before entering the Tobacco Road front door). There’s also limited on-the-street parking right in front of the restaurant. The next time someone says, “Where do you want to go?” I’ll say, “Tobacco Road!!!” (There’s this one in Raleigh and another one in Durham). Thanks Tobacco Road for the fabulous experience!

Nice atmosphere and good service for the two drinks we ordered. We didn't order food. I take 2 stars off because they charge extra for credit cards. Businesses benefit from easy billing and reduced counting errors and therefore should not penalize credit card purchases.

Tried the pretzel bites and they were good, the cheese was a bit too oily for me. Our bartender, Brookelyn, was amazing and made our experience exceptional. Would definitely recommend.

Just left a review but yelp wont let me edit it. Our waitress grabbed a plate so quick that the the cup of ketchup slid off and hit the floor sending it on to my pants. Yet I was still charged for $4 for a small cup of gravy even though my dinner came with gravy (and there was hardly any gravy on it) that's why I asked for extra.
