Definitely the most happening spot in Goodyear heights. The owner is one of the coolest people I’ve ever met. The live venue makes this town better. And not to mention the food is beyond great. You must got try a Roast Beast. They offer plenty of choices on the menu. They also have a full bar. There’s a full arcade stacked with all the favorites and all free! It’s a win win! Come check it out! You won’t be disappointed.

This is the best place in the neighborhood for cocktails, there's no discussion. An amazing selection of whiskey, bourbon, scotch, and hard to find spirits. South Point has an atmosphere unlike any place in the area! Go see Mycal and Anna!! They're cool as hell! Very knowledgeable and full of recommendations!! Love this place!

Perhaps the best bourbon experience I've ever had at a bar. Incredible bourbon list and pretty decent pricing. The opportunity to try so many unicorns in a flight was awesome and the bartender was super knowledgeable and we talked bourbon shop all night. So glad we found this bar on a work trip!!!?

I’d been hearing all the buzz on socials, so when a girlfriend suggested grabbing a drink on a Monday night, we decided to head to the Valley and give this place a try. From the moment we pulled up, I was impressed—the exterior is warm and inviting with beautiful landscaping and patio seating. Inside, the décor strikes a perfect balance of feminine and masculine, creating an atmosphere that feels both stylish and welcoming. We grabbed two seats at the bar and instantly appreciated the bar stools—substantial, comfortable, and dare I say… even a little sexy. The drinks were fantastic and well-poured; we tried the Summer Spritz, Pomegranate Margarita, and Lavender Margarita, and each one was a hit. For dinner, we ordered the Chicken Pesto Pizza. When it arrived, both of us literally gasped—and even the guy next to us couldn’t hide his envy. It was absolute perfection: beautiful, flavorful, and unforgettable. The service matched the food and drinks—attentive and friendly without being overbearing. We both agreed this is a spot we’ll be returning to soon and often. So glad this place lived up to the hype I’ve been seeing online. It’s an absolute must-try!

The drinks are fantastic here. Very well balanced. There is no convenient parking for this place due to its proximity to luigi's. But if you can find street parking, it is worth stopping. It is very small inside space is limited and it becomes quite loud. But the drinks make up for it there is a good variety everyone will find something. I highly recommend the whisky sour.

Stopped in after a tattoo appointment for some quick bevs. Got the Painkilla, an Old Fashioned, a Carrot Cake Martini, and a Jallisco Dole Whip. I thought we were going to have to order up at the bar, but a server came to the couch we were sitting. The drinks were very good, hand crafted, and we couldn't taste the booze in them. The decor was very classy and pulling the Cracker Jack box to get in through the news stand was great. It was also great getting to watch people struggle to get in through the CCTV feed. haha

This place was a simply incredible find. They're partnered to a few local game and card shops, so they have great recommendations across the board. You'll immediately see how much care was put into the design of this place with the decor. The selection of games was massive and the food was an excellent complement. I took one bite of the grilled cheese and said "whoa...". Marmalade really makes difference. I'm excited for subsequent visits because the staff were very friendly. Logan was a really cool guy that made to chat even as the place got progressively busier. The drink he recommended was actually one of his design, so it was great seeing that the staff construct the menus. Definitely felt like they cared about this place a whole lot and I'm excited to return!

This place is super cool! My husband and I came here for a date night, and we loved the medieval themes (it gave us serious Lord of the Rings vibes). The board game selection is great (though some pieces were missing in one game we checked out). Food and drink was also well themed! They go all out in sticking to the theme with food and drink names - my husband got the Green Dragon cocktail, which is served literally on fire. Sandwiches were great - I got the Forager as a tasty vegetarian option. Service was slow at times but our waiter was super nice and covered one of our drinks when it took too long.

We're riding the OTET and stayed at the courtyard Marriott. Lock 15 is a short walk from the hotel. The menu was interesting and offered a variety of options. Great beer selection too! Thai Chicken lettuce wraps were delicious I'm not vegetarian but had the Vegan cabbage rolls, the sauce was fantastic. Delicious! We also had the ribs with greens and cornbread. Nice wedges of cornbread. The mostrada sauce was delicious. The ribs were almost fantastic; however, too charred and about a third of it was inedible. Delicious but we must have had the last of the ribs. Atmosphere is good but loud when the place is full. We would definitely eat here again.

Wife and I stopped while in town for a late lunch. Venue is in an industrial looking building shared with loft units. Parking fairly plentiful behind the building. Look for the patio and you will see a man door with a round sign above it for entry. Once inside, the atmosphere was cool with clear views of the bar, brewing area, and kitchen. The hostess sat us quickly and our server promptly checked in on us. We had a starter of crab egg rolls, shrimp & grits, and a burger w/fries. Crab egg roll was great, had a nice presentation, and the sauce was a nice bonus. My shrimp & grits were excellent with a little spice. My wife enjoyed her burger and the chips noting they were also enjoyable. Overall, the food, atmosphere, and service were great. We would happily stop again when in the area.

This place has a very nice patio. They have live entertainment throughout the week. No draft beer but a good selection of bottled beer. They also have many cocktail options. I ordered the chips and dip as an appetizer. They serve Lawson's chip dip, an Akron favorite for years. For dinner, I had the salmon tacos. They are served with a black bean salad. My preference is a more chunky fish taco versus the finer chopped version that was served. The tacos were ok, but they needed a bit more cilantro and maybe a bit more lime. They were served in a soft taco shell that was fire grilled. The black bean salad needed some salt as it tasted a bit plain. Still, it was a good meal and came out of the kitchen promptly. Our server was great. She checked on us frequently and was efficient and friendly. They did have a band scheduled for the night, but I left as they were setting up, so I can not comment on the entertainment.

Really nice bar. The food is delicious. The staff is super friendly. The regulars were really awesome. Nice little patio in the back. A really great environment to go hangout talk have some drinks and get your grub on. Highly recommend coming here.

Candy Pants32 weeks ago

Decided to treat myself to a steak, so I went to Frank’s Place on Market. I sit down, the bartender greets me right away, and I tell him I’d like a steak—medium. Simple enough. A little later, the waitress brings my plate and announces “medium-well.” I immediately say “no,” thinking she’s got the wrong table. Instead of clarifying, she goes over to the bartender, clearly irritated, and says, “She said medium,” then just walks away. A few minutes pass. She eventually comes back to apologize for the wait and tells me my food will be right out. The second steak arrives… and it’s again medium-well. I cut into it from every angle—no question, it’s overcooked. At this point, I’m frustrated and done with the back-and-forth. I take a few bites just to get something in me, deciding to deal with it as “protein is protein.” That’s when the bartender checks in. He asks how it is, and I admit, “Since you asked…it’s medium-well 😔.” Without hesitation—before I can even shine my flashlight on the plate to prove it—he confirms and immediately takes it back. Now I’m waiting for a third steak, and the tension in the room is thick. Finally, they bring it out and it’s perfect. Literally perfect. Cooked exactly how I wanted. I get to enjoy it in peace—but only because of the bartender. While he’s on break, the waitress completely ignores me: no water check, no follow-up, nothing. When the bartender returns, though, he picks right back up with his great service. Bottom line: the bartender was consistently dope and truly saved the night, but the overall experience was deeply disappointing.

Despite the wait for our bartender (she was busy as...) worth it! Excellent service! The food was far better than expectations. Priced below for what was on their menu. A lot of options, and the quality of exceeded. Our group had a great time! Packed with games and very out of the ordinary experience. Clean and maintained (vintage machines all working and in great order)

Bartenders are always welcoming and informative. Plenty of awesome, old school games to choose from. Decent tap selection. It must be said though- never have I seen a lazier kitchen staff. Food seems to take forever no matter how busy/slow it is. The two ladies who make it are always off on some kind of break together. Outside smoking nonstop instead of tending to customers. They say they close at 9 pm, which I guess is understandable during the week but on weekends is just insane seeing as how it’s prime drunk/ hungry time, and they almost always close the kitchen early. Ridiculous. Will not be dining here again. Place is going downhill.

I went there today (new years day) as a first timer. The bartender was a woman with red hair and a scarf. From the moment my fiancé and I walked in, we were treated like outsiders and treated like weirdos. We were as polite as one could be. I got a shot and a mixed drink and then another shot, so there’s absolutely no way she could say I drank too much. There were 2 old men who were obvious drunks and they were her regulars. They were talking about me provocatively to the bartender and all of a sudden she stopped serving me. She told me okay one sec when I asked for another drink and never made it. And when I looked over there 3 times she was giving me a dirty look. We were just playing darts and did absolutely nothing wrong. She was by far the rudest service worker I’ve ever met BY FAR!

I truly cannot say enough about how grateful I am to the basement!! I last minute wanted to throw my son a surprise party, they worked with my time line. They were so accommodating and when I called even more last minute to order off the catering menu, instead of no, I was greeted with a “what can we do to help?” attitude and it was so refreshing. I got there early to set up, the servers and bartenders were just so AMAZING! They helped with anything I needed. The biggest shout out in the world to Brandon C. He was an ALL STAR! Beloved by my entire party if 20-30! Kept the drinks flowing, the delicious food coming out (also shout out to the kitchen staff), and most importantly, he even took the time to entertain the kids who were just there to have a great time! (Pics attached) What a night! Could not have done this without the basement crew! Brandon C., the other servers, the bartenders, kitchen staff, and beyond… thank you! We will be back!!

Late-night burgers at The Basement were exactly where our taste buds led us after a long night of work and wow, did they deliver! The Beer Burger hit every craving, paired with a fresh side salad, and we couldn’t resist the loaded tots(highly recommend). My husband went for the patty melt, and holy smokes it looked so good I almost grabbed it off his plate. And ladies… let’s talk about the eye candy. Our server, Brandon, was not only super polite and fun, but he’s also a fireman. 🔥 So yeah, the food wasn’t the only thing heating up at The Basement tonight! If you’re after amazing food, a fun vibe, and a little extra sparkle in your evening, stop in at The Basement. 10/10 recommend! we’ll definitely be back!

First thing I want to mention is this places knows how to cook a burger I asked for a burger medium and it was perfectly nailed. Most places always go slightly over to medium well. I have not seen such a perfectly hit medium burger for under $20. Also another standout is the orange chicken sandwhich it is very flavorful. It's very good. The sauce on it is similar to the panda express orange chicken sauce but hotter.. it's got way more spices in it. The merchant Nachos are basically kind of if you turned a loaded baked potato into nachos. It's serial chips of potato's fried which bacon cheese and chives. Let me just say the potatoes on this where seasoned great. Someone is not afraid to salt a potato in thw kitchen.. the drinks here where also nice the whisky sour was very traditional even with a framed up egg white which I appreciate. Biggest downside is service is a little slow on the patio. There was long stints when the server just didn't appear. It wasn't to bad but it just slowed down us paying and leaving alot. Also this place is busy and can get very loud inside. So if that bother you eat on the patio it's usually way quiter out there. Also because of this you can expect a wait when you arrive. It's not long by any means but the place is popular.

Such a nice place to hang out with friends, enjoy a wide variety of signature drinks 🍹 by experienced and friendly bartenders, watch a football 🏈 game or play a game of pool on one of the two brand new 8’ pool tables! Sing karaoke every other Sunday night at 7:30 pm or play a euchre game every Monday at 7:30 pm! The shuffle board has been an all time popular, along with the darts 🎯 game! And the brand new floors give it a clean modern look! The beautiful green patio is so cosy and welcoming! This place feels like a community and you can’t help it want to be a part of it!

Nice and chill local pub. I gave them a 5-star to support all the efforts they put into this place. The food is good the onions ring better than in some fancy places we have been, The lovely service, Kids friendly, and facilities are well maintained. No hurt to give them a try.

My absolute favorite place to get jalapeno poppers. These guys do them up right. Fit the palm of your hand fresh whole peppers just capped stuffed with cream cheese and beer battered. The only thing is the food was a tad on the greasy side, otherwise it was all amazing, it is your typical sports bar, lots of Ohio team memorabilia. I can’t speak on the drinks much but there are non alcoholic options like mocktails. This is one of the best burgers I’ve had and the fries are godly. Great place to go for an emergency pit stop while out on the town in the middle of the night.

Tonix is a nice little bar. It's got a pool table and foozball table, a stage for karaoke, and two tvs for sports. The beer choices kind of suck, but they do have Yingling on tap (20oz for $4), and on Tuesday all bottled beer is $1. No food either, but Eurogyro is right next door and you can have it sent over. I really like this place. I do wish they would permit dogs, but the owners have a "no animal" policy.

I recently had the pleasure of hanging out at Mercedes Tavern, and I can confidently say that it has become my new favorite spot in Akron! Under its new ownership, this tavern has transformed into a welcoming gem that truly captures the essence of community and great food. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and a friendly atmosphere that made me feel right at home. The new owners are incredibly accommodating, ensuring that every guest feels valued and well taken care of. It's evident that they are passionate about creating a fantastic experience. Now, let's talk about the food! I tried the turkey melt with Dijon mustard, and it was absolutely delicious. The combination of flavors was spot on, and the sandwich was perfectly grilled to perfection. Paired with their crispy waffle fries, it made for a satisfying meal that I can't wait to have again. If you're looking for a place that offers great food and a welcoming vibe, Mercedes Tavern is a must-visit. I can't recommend it enough! Whether you're stopping in for a quick bite or a leisurely meal with friends, you're sure to leave with a smile on your face. Cheers to the new owners for creating such a delightful experience!

Staff here was friendly and helpful. However service was very slow. They have a Nepalese section of the menu, however the cook who prepared these menu options was not there, so these items could not be ordered. Very disappointing. We Had to wait about 40 minutes from when we sat down to when get got our food. Taste of the food was average, no complaints, but also nothing to write home about. My wife’s chicken however was overcooked and chewy, not good. She couldn’t finish it. Portion sizes however were very filling. They use paper straws so they will start disintegrating in your cup. Very annoying you need to replace them frequently. Atmosphere was not great. The place was loud, music being played too loud. It smells bad, like cigarettes and alcohol. Not an enjoyable atmosphere to enjoy the company of those with you and enjoy your evening.

The food is flavorless and just terrible. I tried the brushetta chicken and chicken tenders, both were flavorless. The fries were not salted but had potential. Honestly the salad was the best part.... Wish I could say good things but unfortunately I can not. The prices they are charging warrant food with flavor and stomach happiness. My kids and I were so disappointed that we went to pack the leftovers in a box and just didn't....Please keep you bad food to yourself next time lol

Very basic bar/grill restaurant. The building and design look very nice. The location is great, located next to lake Nimesila (chk spelling) on south main far away from the business downtown of Akron Ohio. Hostess was decent, although they merely offered up a multitude of tables instead of leading us to our dining area. This can be tricky, as some customers have strict preference in seating, but we generally like to be led directly to our table and feel it's a more formal tactic to address incoming customers. The wait for service was average, the male server was neither energetic or slow but served the table with a lazy and inexperienced demeanor. Proper service training may be able to salvage this employee and transform him into an asset for the restaurant. Food came out in proper time and the cadence of the meal was rather pleasant. Salads came out first and was followed closely by appetizers. The entrees were served at a good time after the plates had been cleared. Food was warm.but nothing was hot. Fries were not hot out of kitchen, burgers were not hot either, but nothing was cold, just an inbetween temperature. Perhaps an employee wasn't paying much attention and left things sitting for a few minutes too long? Besides that, the back of the house seemed to do ok. Entrees themselves left much to be desired, sauces that were stated on menu were leftmissing from entrees, add on salads were rung up as full price, even the water left a funny taste in your mouth. Literally the well-water here is quite pungent, and was an obstacle to overcome in the overall experience. Nothing we ate was spectacular, nothing stood out as fabulous or extravagant. Portions were smaller than remembered, and soon almost every dish we ate was coined as a "tariff dish" for being what appeared to be less than expected. The chorizo balls, or rice ball app was a complete disaster, unless u like 3 dollars-a-bite bar food. At this portion it should be about a $5 dish. The lettuce garnish was a nice touch however. If u made it this far in the review there isn't much more to add without really destroying the employees or establishment. There is a huge ceiling for improvement and usually that starts at the top and is formed within thr back office. The employees are merely a reflection of the foundation of each company. Beautiful place, may give it another try in the future for fairness sake. Don't expect a mind blowing experience, just expect normal bar/grill food at a slightly elevated price and less than average service. I sat with an empty drink for nearly 15 minutes without one employee noticing. Team members didn't think to help other tables, or looked like they cared, so long as their area was being taken care of. However it wasn't busy enough to justify the delayed service and lack of attention to detail. Server added no memorable lines or character to the experience and left us all underwhelmed. $130+ for 4 people with only a few bar drinks. Pics related.

Tater tot’s were good, nice and crunchy. Ordered 6 wings with no sauce, wasn’t expecting wings to be completely unseasoned! Some salt and pepper would have been nice. Everyone doesn’t like sauce, help us out an season the wings! Would only have left one star by the tots were good! A true waste of money!

While I've been coming to the basement off an on for years, we started coming every Tuesday a little over a month ago for the good food and because of singo bingo. The food is consistently great. While they have a large menu, I have yet to encounter an item that has been not been cooked well and we have been eating the menu here over the past few weeks. Today I ordered the chicken philly and onion rings, while the Mrs ordered 6 wings and tots. The Chicken Philly was excellent, and the onion rings were cooked perfectly. My wifes wings looked perfect, but I'll never know because I was threatened with a fork to the hand the tots though were perfectly crisp. Our waitress Casey has been a treat and she definitely makes the best margaritas out of the entire bar staff.

Went back home to visit and hung out out with my family here. The whole entire night was a vibe! The owner was super cool and turned out that he knew my brother, who also owns a bar in the downtown Akron area. We enjoyed good music, good drinks and played darts. We didn't get around to shooting pool, but I thought it was pretty cool they have a quarter dispensing machine, so the bartenders don't have to be bothered with that all night. Overall, I would definitely recommend visiting them if you're in town. I sure will the next time I'm home visiting! Peace and Blessings 🙌🏿

This place has gone down hill over the years. Went there for drinks after dinner and it wasn't busy at all for a Saturday night, only a few other people. Half the taps were out of beer and only a handful of options for liquor. The music was very loud and make it difficult to have a conversation. The bartender was nice and attentive, though.

I came to Ray's on Wednesday evening for our first round. I had a beer my date had tequila. Bill was less than $15 and I left a 20% tip. However my card got charged for $30. I won't be coming back to this establishment.

Went there for the first time on Saturday night and I have to say very impressed with the overall experience! Starting with greeted by security at front door, very professional. Management is outstanding! Girls are very beautiful. Along the way I was greeted by Ashlynn who is an absolute sweetheart we sat and talked for a while then had the pleasure to do a few dances with her and it was absolutely incredible. Definitely am looking forward to more visits.

I was in here for my last stop of the night. Parking lot had a few broken beer bottles and the lighting wasn’t the best. Went in and got greeted by the bouncers. They were helpful on giving me the lowdown of the place. Decent looking club inside, customer service wasn’t the best. They do have one style of girls in the club. Never got approached by any of them. Lola did have good stage set. Not bad of a club especially were the it’s located at.

I have been here in the past and have been very disappointed with the service and food. I gave up coming here but I most recently had a chance to try it again. I'm pleasantly surprised in the difference bc the food is SO MUCH BETTER and whoever cooks takes pride in their product they send out to the floor. I ordered a pick up grilled chicken wrap with waffle fries. Phenomenal. Hot. Fries were crispy. I decided to pick up for tonight as well. Same delicious item and made the same! The service though... they need to get happier ppl in there. I saw 4 waitresses and none of them were pleasant. None smiled. I was ignored initially by the bartender waitress. No one else talked to me. No one offered me water while I waited for my order. Waitress brings over the bag and throws it down on the counter behind the bar. I said.. excuse me, is that mine? And told her my name. She was very snippy and asked if I paid for it. I did, online. She didn't even hand it to me. I had to reach over. Get your staff right and you'd have more regular customers.

Easily the most scammy bar I’ve ever been to, but it’s in the ghetto so what did I expect. Watered down tequila and I paid 26 dollars for 2 shots of that water plus 2 beers. I didn’t leave tips because the whole joint was inexplainable. My totals were 11.90 and 10.35. I wake up to check my totals because I didn’t trust the place and it was changed to 13.90 and 12.35. Not that I’m broke believe me, I just don’t tip awful service. Don’t go if you’re not a “brother” or a women wearing no clothes.

This is a difficult review for me to write because I actually liked this place very much until recently. I don't live in Akron, so it's a drive for me. But there is a large group of Latino customers that come in and buy buckets of beer. They then demand for nothing but salsa music to be played for the rest of the night. This is not fair to the people who don't speak Spanish and don't understand what is being said in the music. The Black DJ's were shocked when this group started yelling last night. They left the club looking sad and confused. Then salsa music started playing. Those of us who weren't Latino left shortly afterwards. This has happened the last 4 times that I was there, including last night. I have absolutely nothing against any ethnic group. And I embrace a variety of music including salsa. But no one group should get to dictate what music is played just because they are buying buckets of beer. It is a large group of them. So it's probably only 2 or 3 beers per person. This club has a lot of potential and I am surprised that it is never crowded except during special events. The guy who runs this place is very nice and a likable guy. The sound system is nice and the club is spacious with a large outdoor patio. The patio could use some work though. Variety is the spice of life. We can't expect for the world to revolve around us. Learn to appreciate all music so that everyone can hear some music that they really enjoy.

The service was less than exceptional for how busy it wasn't. The poor guy next to us was overlooked for over 30 min. (We offered to buy him a drink when we realized our order was taken before his). The loaded tots were amazing and so were our hand helds. We'll likely give them another try in hopes this was a one off experience.

We had such a lovely experience here. This place is HUGE! I loved the patio and being submerged right on the city streets. Our server was nice and attentive. The menu has a great variety of items for any appetite. We had the southwest egg rolls...delicious. Fried pickles...delicious. My son ordered wings and they were hands down the best wings we've had in years. I had the Cuban and it was absolutely delicious. All of our salad dressings and dipping sauces were amazing. This place knows food. We were so pleased that when we come back in 3 weeks we know we'll be dining here again. They also had games to play in the back of the building. Chefs kiss!

Its finally time to accept that this place isnt even good for wings and a beer anymore. All the draft beers were flat as Olive Oils butt and they have a pretty damn poor selection of bottled stuff. It used to be worth it for the 6 pepper rub, but my wings this time came naked, and fried until there were literal hole burned into them, and I dare not reorder because those took 20 minutes to get out in a nearly empty bar. The "garlic buffalo" sauce tasted like a paste made of soybean oil and guilty thoughts about your cousin. There were dead bugs on the table, and 10 screens ominously flashing the roku city home screen like I was about to be sacrificed to some sort of TV streaming themed serial killer. Staff was all perfectly nice and seemed willing to correct issues but whoever is in charge of this place bow clearly doesn't give a single shit about how any aspect of how their "business" comes off the people. Dirty, slow, dingy, and unwelcoming. Save your money and buy some beef jerky and steel reserve from the circle K, itll make a better meal.

I was born and raised on North Hill. Went to Forest Hill, Jennings and North high school played peewee football at Elizabeth Park, and. Played three sports at Jennings and played football and wrestled at North high also wrestled one year for Akron University. I played and coached with hundreds of Afro-American athletes and not one will ever say I’m prejudice. So for two soda cracker horse hair hunkies that do t know me at all writes bad reviews and one says I’m prejudice is the most blatant lie ever. The fact that these two are friends with a customer that I had to temporarily ban her from the bar because she has no filter after she consumes a certain amount of alcohol. I recently let her consume alcohol back on the premises, but now I may reconsider
