First time in Columbus and this was our first stop. No matter where else we ventured, we kept ending up back here. Great atmosphere, bartenders were awesome.
15% service charge and $1 credit card charge applied at tab out without notice. No signs or notice at all, which is legal. Drink advertised as $5, real price was 7.19, without tax paid price was over 33% higher than advertised. I'll be reaching out to City of Columbus, State of Ohio, and CPB, and the credit card companies (this practice is against their agreements with vendors) to get this possibly illegal practice addressed. Owners like this don't deserve to run an establishment.
Owner is a great guy but the guy running the Karaoke is extremely disrespectful. He insulted me and my friend and then removed us from the list for karaoke for complaining about his insult to the owner
As an alumni I am very aware of how many of the bars were run before graduating. Post graduation I was happy to return to campus to find that many of the bars were still as I remembered until entering the Horse Shoe and little bar to find that the owner now includes a gratuity fee on his bills. I am all for tipping the an employee based on their work, but if I have terrible service and see a standard fee on my bill I would be very upset. Lucky for John his employees are top of the line. This review is to bring more light on the fact that if you wanna be as popular as other bars in the area you have to hold yourself to the standards other owners hold themselves too. I’ll give my 15%+ just keeps yours off my bills.
Amazing staff that goes above and beyond for their customers. Pauly is amazing, truly one of Ohio State's best bars on campus. Always a great time!
