Food: ordered the calamari for my appetizer & was highly satisfied. I haven't had calamari in years and they definitely did the dish justice 🦑 For my main dish, the avocado bacon burger was good; the avocado half was sizable, but to my personal liking. The perfect mix of tangy & meaty was in effect Service: my wonderful server was Chelsea and she made me feel like a regular. I asked about her personal recs bc I'm indecisive about new foods. She explained the fan favorites & why they earned the reputation. Also, when I got a water refill, she not only left in my lemon, but generously added another. I'll be a regular customer now, Tom's has raised the bar (literally) for North Shore life 🙌

Lovely servers, which is the only reason this isn’t a one star review. My only comment - and I’m trying to say this in the nicest way possible - is that they should take the poke bowl off their menu. The rice was cold, lumpy, and chewy. The portion sizes were meager and the sauce was the only redeeming quality (keep in mind, this was a $20 bowl.) I can’t speak to the other food, but steer clear from this dish.

Absolutely unbeatable atmosphere. There were two lounge areas behind the shop, one was more romantic and the other was spooky themed, both were comfortable and busy. The unique cocktails were delicious and typically priced for the area. They distill their own spirits on site and have the opportunity to sample them.

The Storyville Lounge was a great experience. There’s really no other venue in the Pittsburgh area that compares to the unique atmosphere that they created up there. We went to see the live Penna Players show that was hosted there. Very cool. It was like being dropped right into the 1920’s. The Owners are very passionate about what they built. They’re the type of local business owners you easily want to befriend and support. Would easily suggest any and all to go check it out if you haven’t yet

What a great spot in Lawrenceville! Pitch is a hidden gem with everything you could want in one place. I went for the free, no cover cost, Latin dance night (every second Tuesday), and it was a blast. DJ D’Aço (Mike David) kept the energy up with some incredible music, and the large dance floor was perfect for Latin dance moves. There's a full bar, kitchen, patio, and plenty of seating, making it a versatile place for anyone looking to enjoy a night out. Although I didn’t try any food, the kitchen was open, and many patrons were enjoying what looked like some tasty dishes. They also have multiple screens for anyone wanting to catch a game — perfect if you want to combine dancing with watching your favorite team. I’m definitely planning to come back, especially to check out their Wednesday “Open Mic” night, which sounds like it could be a fun karaoke experience. Pitch is going to be a hot spot in no time!

A Greenfield Gem with the Best Bourbon & Guinness in Pittsburgh! I can't believe I’ve been working just down the street in Squirrel Hill and wasn't aware of this bourbon & Guinness Godsend otherwise known as J. Gough's for the past eight years! IMO this pub is hands down the best bourbon spot in Pittsburgh, with an unreal selection that any whiskey lover will appreciate. And if you're a Guinness fan, you won't find a better pour—perfectly done every time. Throw in some top-notch bar bites and affordable pricing, and you've got yourself a go-to hangout. This is a very hip spot in a vibrant neighborhood. We enjoyed our drinks and the atmosphere, though we were disappointed to realize they don’t have a full food menu. The atmosphere and artwork/design is awesome. I had a non-alcoholic mimosa and a french toast/cinnamon toast crunch ala mode with vanilla ice cream. I had the absolute best experience at The Forge! The menu was incredible. Every tapas place we ordered was out of this world and the wood fired pizzas were to die for! The Forge also has some of the best cocktails I’ve ever had. Each drink was so unique and crafted so beautifully. Overall the food, drinks, and vibes were 10/10. I will definitely be coming back!

Kayla Rodgers58 months ago

To say that my experience at The Forge was great is a drastic understatement. We had a reservation and got there right on time, and I admittedly was a bit anxious because the location is a bit smaller than you’d expect and it was SO popular. We were sat at two cozy armchairs with a small table to place our food and drinks, which I’ve not experienced at a restaurant before, and I was curious as to how the rest of the night would go. The casual atmosphere immediately set in, and it almost just felt like another home. The food was incredible, they had a lot of vegan options which I was excited about, and the brick oven pizza was delightful in every way. We ended up getting the vegan cheese board, the cauliflower steak, and the Caprese pizza along with a few cocktails. We sat and talked for hours, the staff was so friendly and not nearly as intrusive as you’d think for such a small space. They let you just enjoy your experience and only came over when you were visibly settling down. We had Luke as our server, and he was exceptional! I could not recommend The Forge enough if you’re looking for something just a little different, but still cozy and comfortable. Also, it being 21+ was a major bonus as it never got too loud! I’ll definitely be back!

Lovely speak easy atmosphere, beautiful chandelier, and a really good use of space overall. Delicious and artistically crafted cocktails and excellent small plates as well as fresh oysters! My only dislike was the metal music playing, just seemed out of synch with the atmosphere of a “speak easy”. We were seated near a table that twice had really obnoxious young adults, so maybe we came on the wrong night to enjoy. But overall, this is definitely a place you want to experience. We’ll be back to try more cocktails.

Jason Heien52 months ago

Everytime we travel to a new city we get recommendations from locals where the best places are. Commerce Bar was mentioned more than once, and from servers at other bars / restaurants, which is huge in my book. Commerce Bar is a great speak easy, that was fun trying to figure out where it is once in, we knew we were in the right spot. We sat and the bar, and chatted with the bartenders, since we asked about where we should go next to maximize our time in Pittsburgh. Cocktails here are phenomenal, and masterfully crafted, and completely unique. While they offer food, we had just eaten so we didn't get to try anything, but if their cocktails were a sign, they food offerings would be delicious. (And looked delicious as they passed by us)

The warren is a shining star in Pittsburgh. We went after a recommendation, and immediately went the next day again. First off, it is 100% true they have the best old fashioned in the nation, as stated by the WSJ. Cocktails, sliders, sushi, and flatbreads. That's what they got at the Warren, and they it all so deliciously well! We are so thankful we went, and everyone we referred to go there, also had an awesome experience as well! If you are at an event at the Heinz Hall, it is an easy walk to the Warren!

Excellent food. I don’t personally like American food and always skeptical about sandwiches but the chicken katsu was really well made. The chicken is fried with a good crunch but the meat inside is still moist and melted in your mouth, they have a sunny side up egg, made the sandwich even more juicy. The tater tots were good as well. I had the Benny Roll, and oh my the salmon was torched on top of the roll filled with tempura shrimp and avocado, melted in my mouth as well. All combined with eel sauce and sriracha makes it flavor enough for a roll but not overwhelming the filling is really well made too. We shared a Caprese flatbread, the garlic oil was juicy combined with the mozzarella and fresh tomato makes it very good and the base bread I don’t know where did they source it from but it was very crunchy and matched perfectly with the toppings on top. Overall, very good experience on food, our server brought the food out very quick as well. It was a very busy Sunday after the game, concert and games and all that, but they managed to up keep the guest experience so very good place to eat.

Everyone had a great attitude. I laughed and joked with many of the floor staff, despite me wearing my visiting team gear. The food was good, but not great, though the variety was excellent. I really liked the salad and dressing options.

We had our wedding reception at Bar Marco and it was perfect. Shelby made the planning process so easy, and the staff went above and beyond on the day of. The food was incredible and our guests are still raving about it. The service was warm and seamless, and the space created the exact atmosphere we wanted: intimate, fun, and special. We could not have imagined a better place to celebrate.

Hadn’t been here for dinner in a while and decided to bring my mom for her birthday. The dining area is quite small so I would recommend a reservation! We were seated and greeted promptly. I started with a cocktail which was tasty. For starters, we ordered the focaccia, sformato, and the arancini. The focaccia and arancini were good, but the sformato was the standout. Would definitely recommend ordering if you’re there for the spring menu. For entrees, I had the bolognese bianco which was delicious and just the right amount of richness. My mom had the lamb orecchiette which she said she enjoyed. For dessert, we shared the rosemary hazelnut pana cotta, it was just the right amount of sweetness and something unique. Overall a great meal.

There were 2-3 loud, argumentative regulars who kept getting into shouting matches in different areas of the bar. They also argued with the bartender, who would tell them to leave but there was no follow-through. After that died down, I was drinking a bottle of beer, and went to the bathroom, with about one-third of the beer still in the bottle. When I returned, the bartender had tossed the bottle (it wasn't busy, there were only 6-7 customers total in the bar at the time).

I was so impressed with the food! We got a pickle pizza and a couple burgers. The fries were INCREDIBLE. We will be back!

I stopped in after a Pirates game—not for the baseball, just looking for good food—and wow, this place delivered. I tried the wings, steak on the stone, nachos, and a burger, and every single item was top-tier. The wings were perfectly crispy, the nachos were loaded and flavorful, the burger was juicy and cooked just right, and the steak on the stone was a fun and delicious experience. The atmosphere was lively but laid-back, and the service was fast and friendly. Easily one of the best spots around PNC Park for food, drinks, and good vibes. Highly recommend!

Love this place. Walked in as a stranger and left after making several friends. Everyone was so friendly and the bartender somehow stayed on top of everything when the place was hopping. While visiting downtown Pittsburgh, I came across Bridges & Bourbon and decided to stop in. We ordered the beet salad and salmon, and I was especially impressed with the salad—it was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. I’d definitely go back just for that dish. The salmon was slightly on the dry side, but overall, the experience was enjoyable. The vibe of the place was fancy yet comfortable, with a stylish and modern ambiance. One thing that really stood out was the creative presentation of the drinks—even though I didn’t order one myself, the cocktails being served to other tables looked playful, artful, and fun. I’d recommend Bridges & Bourbon if you’re looking for a trendy spot with good food, great atmosphere, and beautifully crafted drinks.

We went to the 1st drag brunch there. The show and queens were awesome. But the other side, the service was really slow and the food menu seemed good untill you got it, it was just OK and one of them was cold. It also was not what was on the brunch menu- hashbrown waffle was not a waffle, breakfest burrito missing half the ingredients. Also, how can you have brunch and not offer coffee? I fully understand it's their first time having this. We just felt on the venues side it was all last minute preparing for it. We are writing this to hope for them to learn and improve in the future because the space is nice. Also those queens were Great!

Busy, sports, food. As busy as it gets, the folks here are still able to maintain that neighborhood pub vibe where everyone can feel welcome and like they always have room for one more. The wings are crispy, even the ones with wet sauce. 😋 draft beers come in the taller glasses, 20oz? Enjoy it on a busy night, but I also encourage you to swing by again on a quiet evening and just take it for what it is, a relaxing place to chill out and unwind a little. Folks are really laid back in this bar, I've never seen anyone super wound up or acting a fool. They just don't abide it. Tater tots basket is humongous - fit for the whole team. To be honest, this place wasn’t a horrible spot for a quick drink and the scenery isn’t too bad. I just felt a little out of place as a young African American woman in a predominantly goth white bar and felt as though the lack of attentiveness and conversation from the bartender versus her interactions with others soured my experience. I probably wouldn’t come back but it definitely wasn’t the worst bar in Pitt to go to.

When I think of Polish Hill, the Rock Room is one of the first things that comes to mind. Such a great Pittsburgh dive bar, cheap drinks, good/cheap food, and pinball. Perfect place to grab a few drinks fuel up on some pierogies and maybe see a live show, as there is a small venue in the back by the pinball machines. It is smoker friendly so keep just that in mind, either way you should check it out if you haven't been.

Honestly so sad they have to close soon. I enjoy how cheap drinks are and have dive bar-y this place is. Its a gem of Pittsburgh in my opinion and all their memorabilia gives the place good charm. Where else can i go in Pittsburgh that has $4 strong island?! Cheap beer?! Just sad. I put in a postmates order for the Alabama Slammer, which the ingredients for the $15.50 burger should have included brown sugar glaze / bacon / smoked cheddar / provolone / onion straws / bama sauce (took straight from the menu on their website). The onion straws were crumbs, the bama sauce was lacking, and the bacon wasn’t even a thought. Pretty disappointing considering I’ve been to this location many times so I know what I can expect. We visited in September 2024 and raved about this place, from the food to the service to the vibe. We were so excited to stop on this time, only to be majorly let down. Like other reviews have stated, the service was lackluster. Much of our food was overcooked and burned. The male server was curt and said it’s how it’s suppose to be, but that’s not how it’s been in the last. We brought friends to show this place off and our whole table left disappointed. Unfortunately we will likely not recommend this place in the future.

I used to frequent Dee's a lot when I was in my 21 to early 30's, 8+ years ago. Was in there the 1st time in 6 six years a few weeks ago. It hasn't changed, minus bar tenders. It's a nice dive bar with a bar on 1st floor and 2nd. A great place to unwind, with excellent service. It can get really crowded in there. It draws a diverse crowd of trendy hipsters, rockers, punks, metal heads, and all sorts of people in between. There are pool tables and dart boards down stairs, plus pool tables, pin ball machines, and a pin pong table upstairs. I would give them more stars, but I hate being in smoking bars, especially when they don't have good ventilation. You will end up smelling like an ash tray after being in there.

A few steps up from a typical dive bar, but with a similar vibe. Outdoor seating is excellent, especially on a not-so-typical sunny day in Pittsburgh. Service was attentive and friendly. Definitely try the burger - any of them - but you can’t go wrong with the classic. The fries are super crispy and thick cut, which I tend to prefer. This is the second “The Yard” I have been to. This one is not as good as the one I went to previously. I got the exact same order. The mac and cheese was inedible. Tasted very odd. It was not busy so my only view while eating was of servers just standing around the bar talking to other workers or friends that were also there. The Yard I went to before was the North Fayette - Robinson one. The burgers at each place were perfect. Really only issue food wise, was that the mac and cheese was definitely different in a bad way at this one. I would go back, but I would maybe opt for a time that is busier and get a different side

Robert2in the last week

Waitress was extremely slow even though the place was not busy at all. Waitress forgot to bring half my order and when she did it was ice cold. My entree chicken wings were mediocre, their signature Mac and cheese was room temperature. Had to wait 10 minutes after the meal to get the bill making us late for a tour due to a mediocre meal. The prices are reasonable but the food is not and the service worse.

Atmosphere was excellent as soon as we walked in the door. Band was excellent, drinks were fantastic, staff was very nice and efficient. Stayed til closing. Can't wait to go back again.

The band was absolutely incredible and made my friends bachelorette night so much fun! The interactions they have with the crowd made it so entertaining. We stayed for probably 5 hours and never stopped dancing/singing. The waitress we had also made sure to keep people from sitting at our table, which was very appreciated!

One of the bartenders there isn't exactly tactful when gendering people. I showed up on spontaneously I think it was on a Tuesday or a Monday wondering what's happening on the inside and there are two people at the front door who wanted $5 before we even set foot inside. My friend and I looked at each other and after we peaked inside saw nobody was there and realized why It's because of these two people at the front door wanting $5 to enter. At this point I'm only going to go here for drag.

We wandered in after a ballgame for a drink and a bite. It was a good choice or maybe just good luck. The place was hopping with the post-game crowd. Our server was in training but provided excellent service and was quite candid when asked about the menu and food portions. (We almost ordered too much food). I had the cod sandwich with chips. It was enormous and cooked and seasoned perfectly. The fries were very good too. My friend had what she described as the best club sandwich she's ever had. Also enormous and loaded with fresh ingredients. A couple of drinks each and we took the check which was very reasonable. Will return next time I'm in town.

Food: Great - The best lobster tails in the city. I recommend trying the grilled lobster. The fried chicken wings alone are worth going, FLAVOR. Service: Good - Everyone is pretty professional and welcoming. You do have to get through security at the door. If you go on the nights or weekends, it’s about a 15-20 minutes wait for food. Overall: Recommend - It is a local bar with a resturant at the side, inside the bar. If you’re open to trying it out, you won’t be disappointed. Drinks are pretty cheap for the quantity as well. It’s great for what it is! Try it out and let me know your thoughts.

The drinks are DELiCIOUS and very creative in cute glasses (that you can purchase) and even have IV bags on hanger hooks for one drink type. We make sure to always stop by a few times each Fall and recommend it to our friends and on social media. Highly recommend!!👻

By "food" I mean the drinks--so good, so strong, so spooky! Love the decorations and ambiance. Appreciate that we get a pop-up bar like this in Pittsburgh! If allowed, I would rate this Bar Louie location as three and one-half stars overall. Since it's not, I bumped the overall rating to 4 stars. As expected, even though there were only a few customers seated when we arrived, it took a bit too long to serve our food. Fortunately, the food options and preparations are pretty good even when served under temperature and under seasoned. And when did they stop placing salt and pepper on the tables? We would go back for the food but, in my opinion, there a couple of better options located in the same block.

Kitchen staff/food quality is not good. Bartenders were great! Soup came out with my meal and was barely warm. When I asked why the soup didn't come out first, the Bartender apologized and said "the kitchen staff doesn't listen". While my soup was getting re-microwaved to an appropriate temperature, my burger came out and had multiple toppings on it that I asked for it not to have. I confirmed with the Bartender that the order ticket was submitted correctly and let them know I will just be paying for my 2 beers and be on my way. Bartenders & manager were great, apologetic, and understanding. Kitchen staff needs some help

Atmosphere is pretty good for a bar by the stadiums. The waiter we have is good too. The prices for beer are completely absurd. I wouldnt have posted a review if my group didnt get food. We ordered the pizza box nacho and this has to be the saddest nachos ive ever seen in my life. $15 for a box of chips basically. There was maybe 1 cup worth of toppings put right in the center and most of the chips werent even touched. On another note, they need to take better care of there shuffleboards. If you're looking for a place with a great atmosphere with reasonably priced food that tastes great you've found your place. Skip the wait at Hard Rock Across the street and come here. Besides they have nightly deals on food. The Philly cheese steak was absolutely amazing. The fries were delicious. The wings tatsed pretty good although I wish they were a bit bigger. The pizza was good. They also have pool tables as well as dart boards.

It's okay. The atmosphere is what you'd expect at a sports bar. We had more service from 2 random customers than the employees LOL. We were waiting rather long on drinks at some point, as they don't seem to check up on you ever. They have selective vision for people just arriving to the bar and seem to close their eyes whenever you sit down. A CUSTOMER gave us half a pizza, which saved us a lot of trouble, apparently, looking at the other reviews. My partner's mother was waiting for her beer, which was put through before enough time for her to finish her first beer. Keep in mind this is a CORONA BOTTLE, which you just plop on the bar. We got our mixed drinks before. When she brought this up, she was ignored the first time, and she seemed to be waved off the second time as if it was her problem (she did get it after). The other bartender was way more attentive and even seemed to be newer. The only reason why service is 2 stars instead of 1. We still had quite a fun time because we started playing darts. They have a nice row of dart machines, so it counts it for you if you can't be bothered to note scores down.

Holy moly, I just had the best pretzel I’ve ever eaten in my entire life. OK the menu says giant pretzel. I gotta tell you it’s not a giant pretzel. It’s an incredibly giant huge enormous freaking pretzel. And it’s not just big it’s freaking delicious, the best darn pretzel I’ve ever eaten. if you come here and you should order the pretzel, but make sure you’ve got at least one other person or maybe even truthfully two or three other people to help you because this pretzel will fill two people up completely. Our friends got the Irish sampler and they thoroughly enjoyed it as well. Staff is super friendly. The service is great and the bar selection is second and none. Seriously the picture doesn’t do it justice, but the pretzel is enormous definitely too big for one and almost too big for two. The honey, mustard that comes with it is fantastic. We unfortunately could not try the queso because it had garlic. It does come with garlic butter on it, but they were kind enough to do it without that and I gotta tell you it was delicious. Amazing service from Madelyn !! Super friendly and efficient ! Come here and get a pretzel.

We went on mother's Day. There was zero wait time to be seated. We got the giant pretzel for appetizer. It was so big that it was served on a pizza platter. My wife got a club sandwich with onion rings and I got the giant reuben with fries. I cut the reuben into three regular sized sandwiches. Everything was delicious. The pretzel was $20 but absolutely worth it. The giant reuben (they have a regular size one too) was $25 and also worth it since it made 3 meals.

Went there after I left the pirates game recently, first time in a few years that I’ve been there and I must say it’s much cleaner, staff is friendlier and the atmosphere felt a lot more relaxed. Got two dances from ally who is phenomenal, only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was I felt like the prices were a little too steep especially for the tipping, most clubs don’t have a mandatory tip like it was yesterday when it comes to dances, it’s generally discretionary from the customer, 150 for a dance 15 minutes is fine, 100 tip I don’t think that’s necessary. I still gave it but only cause the time with ally was great and she was incredibly sweet throughout all of it . Will I be back? Perhaps I will cause it’s a 3 1/3 hour trip from where I live to that club

A special shout-out to the bathroom attendant; that guy was a lifesaver with everything he had on hand, truly going above and beyond! And the music? Perfect for whatever mood you're in. We loved having the option of the bumping mosh pit in the back when we wanted to go absolutely wild, and then being able to retreat to the front for a slightly softer, yet still energetic, vibe. Cavo truly knows how to cater to everyone, and we can't wait to go back!

Came here for a Love Island showing and had a blast! The event itself needed some work, but the space provided by Avalon was perfect for the event! Owner was really nice and came in to check it out.

I went here for a metal concert. The venue is very small. You can buy beer in the upstairs balcony area, but cant bring it down to the floor area. If I wasn't right up against the stage, I feel like I wouldnt have had as good of a time. This used to be a night club, so they still have the bartenders and other female staff wearing skimpy clothes which I thought was really weird. But am not going to complain too much about it because, well, I am a man.

The owner is incredibly rude. Their system for memberships never works. Costs $60 for a year membership paid in two visits; I already paid in full but their system didn't register it due to many errors. Now they claim I owe $20 even tho I've already paid. It took a full 30+ mins waiting in line to be denied entry. The bar isn't even worth going to. The music is always good but it's so loud you can't hear anyone around you. The one bartender added an additional tip on my credit card, I tried numerous times to call to get it figured out but the owner never called me back. Plus, the drinks are expensive. I probably won't be going back for a while, if ever. Pittsburgh needs a better after hours space. *Edit, as a response to the owner: I stood in the line by myself, barely talked to anyone while I waited patiently. I was skipped and overlooked numerous times before I got to the end of the line. The comment just goes to show that the owner of this establishment takes no personal accountability for her poor treatment of patrons and is willing to be untruthful and dismissive of people that bring business to this space week after week. Also, completely skips over the fact that a bartender stole from me and moves into calling me "angry bird" rather than considering why I'm frustrated. Unprofessional, rude, and immature.

The machine to verify ID was not picking up my ID. They do not have a backup plan. The door woman was no help. I had the $40 Dollars for the membership but she was no help. The club has no one to help you out. Giving the experience 2 thumps down. Will never waste my time with the club again.
