This is a premium cocktail bar. Best in Columbia and with an amazing vibe. Garry is amazing. They fresh squeeze all their juice and make their own syrups. They take this seriously and you can taste it. I had the Paloma revolver. Can’t miss. Adding to this after now also having been to Three Dots and a Dash Tiki Bar in Chicago…that’s the true original tiki bar but now can say that Urban Tiki also fully nailed the look and class and quality of Three Dots. Well done guys. You know your Tiki 😊

Great restaurant and bar! Got dinner at the restaurant section and then went to the lounge for drinks. Gumbo was the best I've had outside of New Orleans, and my friends really enjoyed their burgers as well. Server was very kind and the hickory made the inside smell wonderful.

We loved the ambiance which included classy music that went with the restaurant's theme. We chose to the do Restaurant Week pre-fix menu. From the appetizer to the dessert- every thing was delicious.

Nightcaps 4.5 (364)

Nightcaps struck me as a below-average bar. It definitely epitomizes the term "dive bar," but I don't really mean that in a good way. The inside of the restaurant was very old-fashioned, but to the point of looking gross and unkempt. The bartender wasn't exactly rude, but I had to stand at the bar for about five (5) minutes before having my order taken. What I really didn't like about Nightcaps however, was the other patrons. They were very obnoxious and rude, and struck me as being very cliquish. When I was standing at the bar waiting for my drink to be made, this lady screamed in my ear to the bartender, and became visibly upset when the bartender wouldn't drop what she was doing and immediately close her tab. In my opinion, Nightcaps tries to serve as a "classic," "relic of the past," type of bar, but kind of misses the mark. It wasn't really my vibe.

Stopped by this location on Easter Sunday, since a lot of the other locations were closed. I had the spicy teriyaki wings, which had a great flavor. I also had the egg rolls, which were amazing. The dipping sauce went very well, with the egg rolls. The customer service was great. The gentleman at the door helped with me getting a menu. The bar tender Gabe was very friendly. Definitely a great spot to pop in to grab drinks, or shoot a game of pool.

Came in on a Wednesday night not sure what to expect. We had a blast participating in karaoke with an eclectic, joyful group of people - many of whom seemed to know each other. Not too many places like this around. We will definitely be back!

If I could give it 0 stars for the bartender pictured I would. I’ve been here numerous times and never had this experience. Every other experience was very pleasant but tonight was unacceptable. We sat on the bar for at least 10 mins while this bartender ignored us. To be clear, there was only one woman standing in front of her who she served and then walked away. We sat exactly where she was standing, which means we were directly in front of the bartender and watched her serve 2 people while never being acknowledged. We were sitting in the middle of the bar, how did you not see us!!! I tried to get her attention and she still ignored us, until finally she looked over and I asked her if she saw us. She said she didn’t see and then said “and I’m not serving you, you can leave”. So I asked her where is her manager and she said “I am the manager”. To even avoid any further disturbances to the great vibe and music in the establishment, we left. I will never return because of the bartender pictured. And please roll the cameras back to see exactly what took place. Took place on 03/22, approx 11:30p-11:55p!!!!!!!! Totally disgusting. While we were walking out she yelled “BYE”. If she is the manager, this is a disgrace to such a beautiful establishment with great musicians!

The vibes were great, I was able to go by myself and feel fairly comfortable. Plenty of seating, different areas of the bar to go to. It’s bigger than it looks! Bartender was not the kindest or personable. It seemed like he hated being there. It’s hard to hear over other people and music, and I’ve never ordered at a bar before. He asked what my tab was, I wasn’t sure what to tell him and then he snapped at me for my name. When I went to close my tab, I thought he didn’t hear me so I repeated myself, saying I wanted to close my tab, and he snapped at me again for my name. Didn’t speak to me outside of “what’s your tab” and “name” Other bartenders seemed very friendly and personable. I’m going to give it another chance in a couple of weeks with a friend, hopefully it will be a better experience at the bar

Art Bar's a really fun bar, even if it's a little bit outside of my comfort zone! I loved going on karaoke night, it was so much fun watching everybody go all-out and having the crowd sing along. The ambiance was really unique as well, for the first time in Columba I felt like I was getting the real Discoteque experience. I loved how neon the lighting was, it really accentuated the aforementioned disco vibe. The one negative thing I have to say about it was that most (but not all) of the bartenders were very arrogant, and made it seem like an inconvenience to be asked to make a drink. Two of the bartenders didn't even speak when I asked for my drinks, and just made them in awkward silence, and still didn't say anything when I thanked them for it. Another one made a cocktail, and didn't even bother to mix it, which was kind of weird. I debated between giving Art Bar three (3) or four (4) stars based on the service, but I ultimately went with four (4). However, had the service been better, Art Bar would've definitely been a 5-star experience!

I usually love this place, but I’ve had several strange experiences lately. The staff is generally great, except for the blonde bartender who works inside. Now, I only get drinks from the outside bar because she’s consistently rude and clearly chooses who to serve first. I work in F&B and fully understand how stressful it can be behind the bar, but what I can’t excuse is her attitude. It’s one thing to hustle for tips, but there’s no reason to serve every man before a woman, especially when we’ve been waiting longer. Ladies, save yourself the frustration and head to the outside bar instead.

Harper Hodge12 months ago

I traveled from out of state and specifically chose Jake’s because of its dog-friendly reputation. I researched the policy ahead of time. The current PDF on their website says dogs must be leashed by 11PM, with no mention of a 10PM cutoff. When I returned after feeding my dog, we were told dogs aren’t allowed after 10. Mind you I was just in there… after 10, another dog in there as well. Just went to the car to feed my dog. The policy isn’t posted anywhere, and other dogs had been there moments before. When I brought this up, I was told ‘the policy changed 6 months ago’ but again, this wasn’t reflected anywhere online or on site. It felt dishonest and dismissive, especially to someone who went out of their way to follow the rules. When I asked to see a policy I was told “they have the right to turn anyone away” which yes is true, but how ethical is that if it’s a complete lie? ..or to have nothing to back it up? This is my first time visiting Columbia and I’ve been really excited but this completely ruined my night. I downloaded and read the entire policy and went back to discuss this with them and all I got was deflection. Really upset over this. I would’ve visited another city if I knew we’d be treated this way.

Publick House is a really cool restaurant, the ambiance is very old-school cool, and the service is usually pretty good as well. Although I don't personally eat wings, this is my friends' and family's go-to place for the best wings in Columbia. I mainly get the mozzarella sticks, chicken tenders, and fries, which are for the most part above average, although a little hit-or-miss. They have a great selection of beers, and their hand-made liquor drinks are always fresh and well-made. I have noticed however that their non-alcoholic beverages such as lemonade and soda are often watered down and not the greatest. All-in-all, Publick House is an above-average restaurant, and one that I would definitely recommend to others and will keep coming back to.

Had a great time singing karaoke here on Friday and Saturday. Everyone was very personable. Bartenders Lee and Hailey make great drinks! No problems here at all! 10/10 recommend if you are in Columbia. No food, just chips. It is a private club, therefore, your first time here you have to have beer/wine to make sure you can respect the place. I love it!

Brandon is sweet and attentive, Greg did a phenomenal job getting us checked in for the show, and the space was clean. Definitely a must in Columbia! It did surprise me that the only food available were chips that night; not sure why that was. Regardless, it's a great venue!

Bierkeller Brewing Company 4.3 (242)

Bierkeller is alright, but I think a tad overrated. It does indeed have a beautiful view of the Columbia Canal, but I'm not sure if that makes up for the expensive prices of their (at-best) mediocre food. The beer was fine as well, but nothing particularly noteworthy. I'd say Bierkeller is pretty average.

Jacob Mason53 months ago

Tucked along the scenic banks of the Congaree River in Columbia, SC, Bierkeller Brewing Company is an absolute gem if you’re looking for a quiet, relaxing brewery experience with great beer, food, and service. The brewery sits right by the Three Rivers Greenway, offering stunning riverside views and a huge, well-designed outdoor biergarten that feels peaceful and open, even on busy days. It’s dog-friendly, family-friendly, and has plenty of shade and seating—perfect for everything from a solo afternoon beer to a group gathering. The beer is excellent—crisp, clean German-style lagers brewed with serious attention to tradition. Every pour tastes fresh and balanced, and the variety is enough to keep both casual drinkers and beer lovers happy. The food pairs beautifully with the beer: soft pretzels, bratwurst, schnitzel sandwiches, and rotating specials that keep the menu interesting without being overwhelming. Service is friendly, fast, and laid-back. The bartenders and servers are knowledgeable and happy to talk through the beer selection or offer samples. Best of all, the vibe here is calm. Even with live music or trivia nights, the volume stays manageable, and you never feel rushed or crowded. Bierkeller has become a go-to spot for relaxing by the river with a great pint in hand. Highly recommend!

We ate dinner there this past week and were pleasantly surprised. Our waiter, Travis was very helpful and knowledgeable of the menu. I had an Old Fashioned that was awesome. The quality of the food was excellent. I thought this place might be more of a drinking place but honestly the food we had was fine dining quality. My wife had Tomato and Ricotta cheese on sourdough bread, Mexican street corn (recommend the restaurant serve with the little corn holders as it was a little messy) but delicious. I had fish in a corn chowder and deviled eggs as appetizer. Great atmosphere too. Casual but a little dressy. Recommend making reservations. Great place for a date night!

Absolutely DISGUSTED by what I witnessed here. This place needs to be investigated IMMEDIATELY!!! What happened to that white girl and the people who stood up for her was completely out of line and traumatizing. She was being sexually harassed in the club by two Hispanic men. They were literally pulling her into them, groping her, and grabbing at her private area!!!! She finally reacted and snatched one of their chains after being repeatedly violated. That’s when they started yelling at her like she was a thief instead of taking accountability for what THEY did. Security got involved but completely missed the point. In the lobby, another female security guard with a short ponytail even said the girl didn’t steal anything! Then a Black girl tried to speak up for the white girl, and THIS is where it got worse. The heavyset female security guard with long black hair—the one usually at the front door—grabbed the Black girl by the HAIR and started attacking her. A man had to come and break it up. Instead of calming things down, security started pepper spraying everybody. It didn’t end there. The white girl went to the parking lot to get her card she had left. While she was out there, a male security guard with locs walked up and sprayed her directly with BEAR MACE. She was doing NOTHING wrong. Not yelling. Not fighting. Just looking for her card. That is ASSAULT. There was zero justification for that kind of force. That bear mace could’ve caused permanent damage. How is this even legal?! If this is how La Rumba runs their security, targeting women who are being harassed, then attacking those who try to defend them, this place needs to be SHUT DOWN. Period!!!! Shame on everyone involved who stood by and let that happen. This wasn’t just bad service. It was violent, unsafe, and straight up dangerous!!!!

This place needs to be shut down, the security does the absolute MOST! & My friend will be pressing charges on this place for ASSAULT and bullying I witnessed them follow her to her car in the parking lot bear mace her for absolutely NOTHING!!! absolutely no reason!!!!!! /she was outside the club talking she was not in a physical altercation for him to do that and we will be calling ICE ! & pressing charges
