The best bar in Stowe and has a great case for the best one in Vermont. Chris is an extremely knowledgable bartender and a great conversationalist. Runs a clean bar and has a great revolving cocktail list. Amazing cookies also!!

Apres was a fantastic cocktail bar experience in Stowe. The space was filled with light and inviting on a Friday afternoon, which made our window seats in the main area even better. The atmosphere was lively, with great conversation and people connecting. The drinks we tried were strong and tasty, well worth the asking price. As someone originally from Texas, I was particularly impressed by the spicy margarita. We had a delightful time at Apres, and I strongly recommend visiting if you're in the area.

The place had some of the best vibes in the area! We went to several different hang outside and this was all around our favorite. They had some awesome and friendly staff as well as some of the best bar food to snack out while we were chilling out. Thanks for the awesome experience!

The food was fairly good but not reaching 5 stars in my opinion. The beer flight featured some classic/basic styles of beer - all of them were fresh although tasted fairly plain to me but fine to go with a meal and interesting to try anyway. The Vermont Cheddar Fritters were really good and I enjoyed them together with the sauce. The wings with shriracha-buffalo sauce and blue cheese dressing did not match my taste unfortunately. The lady at the bar/tap was really welcoming. Overall no regrets and the place is good but next time I’d look for something else.

Excellent relaxing patio dinner. The cheddar fritters were crunchy and gooey and the chipotle aioli was the perfect sauce on top! Chili was great and went next level when I added it to my Vermont mac n cheese! Husband had the burger and raved about the onion bacon jam. Patio area was beautiful on a crisp fall nice and we enjoyed an after dinner warm mulled cider by the fire pits! Great spot.

We have a fantastic meal. My wife started off with the muscles appetizer, and I had the artichoke heart fried with a aïoli sauce. They were both delicious. My wife had the scallops with a side of risotto with the asparagus, and I had a filet mignon medium rare with the side of asparagus With carrots, mashed potatoes, pistachio crusted, sweet carrots. It was very delicious. I had a vodka martini Tito and my wife had some Cabernet Savignon California with dinner and she ended dinner with a peanut butter chocolate moose cheesecake what she ate before I could take a picture dinner was excellent, the cocktails were good and the staff was very efficient. Kudos to our waitress thank you thank you Mariah.

Came to Vermont to catch the changing of color. Stopped by here for early dinner. There was a 20 mins wait for outdoor seating even at 5:00p so this must be a popular place. The chip and onion dip was delicious. The buffalo wings were moist and crispy. I had the half chicken with broccoli slaw. Chicken was a bit overcooked but tasted delicious. The broccoli was cooked perfectly and topped with pickled onions. Also, try the Irish Nitro Stout with it smooth foam. Great meal overall.

Kind of pricey for what you get. popcorn chicken wax hard as hell and not very warm. Definitely frozen , even the tater tots were cold, could only order 1 drink because that’s the only time we saw our server. Excellent atmosphere, dog friendly. Burger was good .

Fabulous spot for lunch. Friendly service, great food options and a wonderful outdoor covered patio. This place has quite a few items that caught our attention. We ended up with the fish tacos and the Cuban sandwich. Both were such good choices that we want to go back and try out the other items. Cuban sandwich had the perfect bread, which makes all of the difference. The ham, pork, pickles, cheese and mustard all came together to create an amazing bite. We opted for the tots and this was a good choice. Crispy outside, tender inside. Well seasoned. For the fish, the batter held together and was a great consistency. Slaw added a nice balance. Everything was solid. Our only comment here was that the food was not very hot when it arrived. This did not heavily impact our experience and we didn't mention anything at the time. Just noted and our personal preference. We would go back.

Another winner! I was starving but my bench burger was just fantastic! Cooked perfectly medium. Ordered the duck fat fries but in a blind table taste test nobody could tell the difference. The salmon burgers were devoured too! The only loser of the night was the nachos. They were tasty but nachos should be smothered in toppings these were like diet nachos. Drinks were good too. Service was great! Fast friendly and kept water glasses full, a great sign of attention to detail. Over a strong A Ps. The host was nice but could used a little more happy energy

Bowling here was a great experience — loved the setup and especially the bowling balls painted like billiard balls, such a fun touch. We ordered a couple appetizers while playing: the pretzel bites which were tasty, and the fried cheese curds, which ended up being our favorite.

I believe the last time I was here was with my Dad nearly 40 years ago. It's very much the same from what I can remember. Dark tones, jazz playing in the background. A nice upscale dining experience. Chefs are all behind glass, working diligently making tasty dishes. The honey oat bread is addictive. The Maple buffalo wings have a great sweet taste that leaves your lips with a slight burn. Spinach and avocado dip with pita chips is also a great appetizer. My daughter liked the whip bar steak while my son loved the taste of the French dip. The Vermont cheddar chicken was flavorful and crispy. My wife thought the roast prime pork chop was cooked perfectly, which lots of flavor. Definitely a nice meal in a relaxing atmosphere.

We dined here twice recently while staying at the Green Mountain Inn. Both meals were delicious. Our first night we had the halibut and trout specials, that were prepared to perfection and included delicious accompanying sauces. The second night we enjoyed a spinach & artichoke dip appetizer, and steak au poivre and simply grilled fillet for our entrees. We ordered our steaks medium and they were superbly cooked. The cozy upstairs dining room features a fireplace and the downstairs offers additional seating as well as outdoor patio seating. Our server was Matej who was fantastic!

Great find near Stowe. We were driving through smugglers notch and felt that we should finish dinner before reaching hotel. We just found it on the way and went in. Luckily we got seat straight away. We had one salad, one veg pizza and one sushi ordered and fist 2 item came pretty soon. We really liked both salad and pizza. Vegetables felt so fresh and taste was amazing. Sushi came after a while and it was little fancy as it was lit on the table to cook inside food. Taste was good but slightly burnt feeling because of fire. I will try other one next time. Interior is nice and have lot of space. We were seated on covered patio and next to us was a small stream flowing, that was nice touch. Enough of parking is available outside and it's free.

Came here for dinner on the recommendation of someone local in Stowe. We needed to find someplace that would have outdoor seating and be friendly to us having our dog with us and this fit the bill perfectly. Their outdoor seating area is right next to a stream and trees. We ordered a large pizza to split between the two of us and it was plenty of food. We got a Mediterranean pizza and the flavor combinations were great. Afterwards we got their chocolate cake and loved every bite. Our server was very friendly and attentive. The inside area looked cool and there’s a stage that looks like it’s well used. If we’re back in the area again we’ll certainly have this on our list! Definitely recommend!

Food was amazing and so were the drinks! I have celiac disease and I was able to find plenty to eat. The fact that they have games is nice for kids. Reminds me of old Stowe before it got bought by Vail and developed.

My 13 year old son and I wandered in here while staying across the road, to have dinner around 4pm. I had the most delicious fish and fries, and white wine and sp had a cheeseburger and fries with coke. We finished every bite. Very friendly service. Great music. We spent an hour in the games room playing pool and sp played the motorcycle machine game, won a free game, and tried the gun game, which didn't work. A machine changed our dollar bills into quarters for the slots. Had a very happy couple of hours while the locals trickled in. Would go again, felt very relaxed and welcoming.

I am responding to a comment that management left under several people's reviews about specific content being shown at Alfie's karaoke night: If you are so adamant to show these films, you should host a Criterion movie night. I witnessed the whole exchange between you and the person asking for the movie to be turned off. You became defensive immediately. When they went to talk to you about the issue in a quieter space respectfully, you put your finger in their face. I sat directly next to you and the person and missed words here and there because it was loud in the bar, so I highly doubt anyone else at the surrounding tables were "disrupted" by this exchange. Also, you didn't card any of my group of friends when we went to the bar to get shots, so I have no idea what you're referring to with this "refusing to remove a mask" business. Truly- do whatever you want, it's your business, but if you continue to be this stubborn and respond to every negative comment you get it will fail.

Christeal12 weeks ago

I have been to Alfie’s twice for their karaoke night. I enjoyed myself the first time but had a less than stellar experience tonight. To give some context, Alfie’s has some random aesthetics going on. The space is an old garage with an industrial feel with the stage inside being decorated like the Black Lodge from Twin Peaks. They have a large screen behind the stage to play videos and images as people perform. Both times I’ve been here, there have been full movies playing on the screen. Every time they have been niche arthouse films (i.e. Federico Fellini’s 8 1/2.) The films often contain graphic imagery that is racist and violent (a strange vibe to bring to your business in my opinion.) Tonight, I witnessed someone speak to who I assume is the manager (white guy with white hair) and ask them to change the movie to something different, as there was a rape scene playing while someone sang karaoke. I watched the owner get very defensive at this request and ultimately did not turn off the movie. I will not be returning to Alfie’s as the owner demonstrated that he is unwilling to make his patrons feel safe, included, and comfortable. Update: It is revealing that the owner responded to my review in the manner that they did. The response was entirely defensive an introduced arguments about issues which I did not raise. If the owner wants to show "art" films in their place of business, it is their right. It is my right to share my opinion and never again patronize this business. Rather than meet the needs of patrons, the owner seems to have their own agenda (again; it is their right to conduct business as they see fit). However, the responses from the owner to my and others' reviews demonstrates an inflexibility and unwillingness to understand the opinions of their patrons which, more than likely, will negatively impact if not end their business.
