Loved this restaurant! The cocktails were so good and you can see the passion for the attention to detail. We got the pai thai and brussel sprouts. Both were delicious!

My favorite girls' night out destination in Old Town Alexandria, VA! They offer an excellent selection of Thai dishes (we love to share Fried Chive Dumplings and Pad Thai), BUT the real stars are their stunning and delightful COCKTAILS!🍹👌🏼 If you appreciate yuzu and citrus flavors, their drink menu will certainly impress you! My personal favorites are the Funky Monkey and Cherry Blossom! For those who enjoy a bit of heat, don't miss the Mango Spice!🥭❤️‍🔥

Excellent and lively multistory bar, just off the strip, with old school charm, imaginative flavor blends and warm and delightful owners. Be sure to say Hi! to their stately labradoodle Arthur. :-)

This review is strictly for the upstairs bar. I generally go to this bar and stay on the 1st floor with Jack and Anna. I have never had one issue down there, nor have I returned any drinks before (I had no reason to, they were always good). I have been going to Old Hat and staying on the 1st floor roughly 2 - 3 times per month for about 1.5 years, maybe 2. However, on the night of June 21st, I went there with a group (counting myself) of 5. Due to spacing downstairs, we decided to go upstairs and have a round, as we were hopping around oldtown. We ordered our drinks and only one of us wanted to return it after a few sips. The owner/manager who runs the upstairs bar said he couldn't take it off the bill (mind you the person in our group only had a few sips - enough to determine if she liked the drink), but he offered to modify the drink to her liking. Which I initially thought was odd, as most places would within reason, allow someone to exchange a drink for a different one if said person doesn't like it. We did not put up a fuss, when the owner/manager brought the drink back, in fairness the person in our party said it tasted better, but we still couldn't get past the fact she couldn't get something different out of our head. If you do go here, stick to the 1st floor with Jack and company. Unfortunately, I personally have a sour taste in my mouth on the bar after my recent experience. When I do go to King Street in the future, I am going to be hesitant to come here, and will likely just go to another bar on the strip.

What a truly wonderful place! It's nestled right in the heart of the neighborhood, and the vibe is just fantastic. I love the atmosphere and the friendly crowd that gathers there. The service is excellent and makes a difference. I had a long island that needed some work on the mix, but the staff were accommodating and worked to make sure my drink was enjoyable. I appreciate your dedication! Keep up the fantastic work!

I love this place, great location, great music, great service. Drinks and hookah are delicious and quick service with beautiful friendly faces around. Drinks are pricey so careful ordering without paying attention, you will quickly have a bill in the triple digits. I would like to eat here one evening too, I bet the food is amazing. Will be back asap!

We held a rehearsal dinner here in June. It was perfect! The food was yummy, the pool table was a hit with the kids, and the couches and chairs were perfect landing spots for the toasts!

No. 9 Lounge, the upstairs space in Evening Star Cafe, was the perfect venue for my birthday party. It was very easy to coordinate the event and Dawn was very quick to respond to all questions leading up to the event. Everyone loved the vibe of the space! It had room to create a dance floor, a pool table, shuffle board, and retro video games! Everyone from ages 3 to 63 had a blast! The service, food, and cocktails were all terrific. I highly recommend this space if you are looking for an event space!

Went on a Saturday evening. The Study is located in a cute hotel just off the Main Street. The restaurant is nicely decorated, feels cozy and modern. The service by Shawn and the rest of the staff was friendly and helpful. Food and drinks were really amazing (salmon, empanada, duck with mole), with Latin influences. Highly recommend the tres leches dessert which is a family recipe (have it with coffee 👍). The pliant player had us going to the bar after for an after dinner drink and chatting with people at the bar. A great night!

Excellent! We were blown away by each dish, on the two nights we stayed at the Morrison House. 1st time we ate at the bar while listening to lovely piano-playing. The 2nd night we reserved a table at the Study & the ambiance & food were both phenomenal. Sean, our server was so friendly, funny, & attentive! Loved every dish & moment there!

We ate at Murphy's after reading some great reviews. We were NOT disappointed. The first thing we noticed were the specials outside along with the sign advertising a discount to 1st responders. My husband and I are both 1st responders so we knew we'd picked a good place. Once inside we saw all the patches and loved the atmosphere. We ate upstairs. I had the special of the soft shelled crab sandwich with fries and my husband had fish and chips. One of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Thank you all, well done.

The staff here are extremely friendly and welcoming. It’s not a bad place to have a drink, but I would certainly stay clear of eating here. I asked the manager if he would eat my dish and he said no as it was awful. There was something in my dish which I couldn’t tell which part of the animal it came from. I ordered the beef stew. Upon looking at other Google photos of the same dish it appears that mine was lacking peas, onion, and celery too.

Some bars serve drinks and some are an experience. Captain Gregory's is definitely an experience. It has a fun speakeasy style entrance (don't want to give it away). Unique island/tropical decor and super stylish accents/glassware/details. We loved the drinks! Our bartender Jag did a wonderful job of making us feel comfortable on our 1st visit and made some guided us through the menu. We will definitely return.

Came here for a date night and had a great time. The restaurant is in a great location in old town Alexandria, VA. There is street parking as well as garages near. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating. We sat indoors upstairs at a table by the windows. It was a nice comfortable feel. We had a nice view of the park/water area below. The atmosphere in the restaurant was lively and the service was good. Our food and drinks came out quickly and everything was fresh and tasty. Also we came for an anniversary and the restaurant gave us a complimentary drink on them. That was unexpected but appreciated. There was plenty of options for food and drinks everyone can find something here. Overall id definitely recommend checking this spot out. Its definitely one we will come back to.

Located in the charming Old Town Alexandria, Virtue Feed and Grain offers a delightful dining experience that captures the essence of the area. The atmosphere is wonderful, we sat outside on a gorgeous August evening. It’s the kind of place where you can easily settle in and enjoy a long, leisurely meal. The drink selection is impressive, featuring a variety of creative cocktails and a well-curated wine list. Each sip was enjoyable, and the drinks complemented the meal nicely. While the ambiance and drinks set a high bar, the food, unfortunately, didn’t quite reach the same level of excellence. Some dishes were flavorful but could have benefited from a bit more refinement. There were moments where the flavors didn’t fully come together, which was a bit disappointing given the overall quality of the restaurant. Despite this, the overall experience was enjoyable, and I appreciate the effort put into the atmosphere and drink offerings. I look forward to returning to Virtue Feed and Grain to see how they continue to evolve their menu. It’s definitely worth a visit for the delightful setting and good drinks!

Absolutely loved this place. It was our first experience and it was all love. The band was awesome and showed us so much love and great crowed as well. Make sure you check your receipt prior to paying. We had a couple of extra charges for the band fee. I am not sure if it was due to us treating others for drinks but either way we shouldn’t have been charged. I did it get corrected and when the server pointed out who we brought a drink for, I pointed out the fact that we brought a drink and didn’t have anything else to do with anything they had going on. Seating in the band area is first come first serve so check the time that the band arrives and go 30 or so mins earlier to get a seat and have time to order. Edit: let me add that I reviewed my account today (03/25/24) and I had extra charges pending on my card/account. I called and asked for the manager who I felt like answered the phone because it was the same person that I spoke to originally Saturday (03/23/2024) about the venue. The person kept saying hello after I asked her for the manager then hung up. I called right back and a guy answered and he stated she will be back in 30mins. I called right back to see if someone else could help or I was going up there and she asked for my name, number, last 4 of my card and will get the manager to call me back. We truly liked this place but at this point, we are not sure if we will be returning. I gave them 5 stars originally but reduced it down due to them wanting to charge me what they wanted versus what they should have LEGALLY!! Plus I never got a call back!!

Oh my goodness my boyfriend took me here on a date night on a Sunday. The music was incredible. It’s an older atmosphere, but the vibes are genuine and a place to feel comfortable. They have an underground bar as well and that’s the place where you wanna party and dance. It’s a great set up they have here. make sure to explore all the way upstairs to all the way underground. The only thing is the prices. You can expect DC prices if you know what I mean. For one cigar and two shots $50 was paid.

Delightfully hidden speakeasy. We had a wonderful time sitting at the bar as a group of 3 with both bartenders! I asked for a surprise tequila drink and what they mixed up for me was absolutely what I wanted! Local beers and a nice cold glass of wine too. Will return!

Chicken tenders, jalapeño poppers, and mozzarella sticks. What more could a girl want? A Lambrusco spritz? Yes please. This place is tucked away. It gets kind of dark during the day because they cover the windows but still a good time to forget what time of day it is.

Hands down one of the best hot chicken sandwiches I have had! We just walked into this place and we're pleased right from the beginning. Service was great from beginning to end. Night out with a group of 7. Super cute speakeasy vibes. Fun drink menu. Staff seemed overwhelmed and probably could have used a few more bodies to accommodate the crowd. Drinks were tasty but a bit slow to arrive. The table wasn’t assigned a specific server so there was a bit of confusion throughout service. Food was delicious. Apps, Sushi and mains were tasty and good portions. May return but with a smaller group or on a date and sit at the bar.

After a fantastic dinner at Barca, our group of five headed over to Casa Luna to wind down the evening — and it was the perfect choice. Although the bar was fairly busy when we arrived, Gloria made sure we were comfortable while waiting and kept us informed about the next available table. Her attentiveness set the tone for a great experience. Once seated, Gloria quickly walked us through the menu and took our drink orders. We started with a round of espresso martinis, which were expertly crafted and a perfect way to kick off our Casa Luna visit. Our table was located near a projector showcasing scenic views from around the U.S., which added a calming, cozy vibe to the space. Following the espresso martinis, the standout cocktail was the Lychee Martini — fresh, flavorful, and quickly a favorite among the group. A big thank you to Gloria and the Casa Luna team for the delicious drinks and the warm, laid-back atmosphere. It was the ideal spot to end an already memorable night. We’ll definitely be back!

Cute Area, Underwhelming Food The ambiance was really nice, and the area itself was super cute—lots of little shops to explore, and they even blocked off the road for people to walk around. Unfortunately, the food was just okay at best and definitely overpriced. I wouldn’t recommend the mushroom burger—it tasted like something straight from the frozen section. Overall, I’d come back to the area for the vibe and maybe to this place for a drink but probably not to eat here again.

Dope spot. They do allow smoking indoors on both levels. Service, food, and drinks were great. Upstairs in the cigar lounge they live music, typically jazz or blues.. down stairs has a dance area with DJ - small but good club vibes.

ML SMITH22 years ago

Not a bad place to go dancing, listen to a DJ and have a drink or two. Last day in Alexandria and the lady and I needed a place to chill and get a little crazy. I really like the fact that it was a mix crowd with people mainly over 25 years of age. Absolutely no drama, just pure fun. I gave it 2 stars because its in a basement area and they allow smoking on the dance floor. Unfortunately my girlfriend and I were positioned right next to a cigar dancer and a veep' guy. Once we left, our clothes and my girls hair smelled like pure smoke. The alcohol wasn't the best quality, the music was good, and everyone danced with everyone. For a bonus, if you get a little hungry after midnight, head over to HANDOVER BY THE SLICE - great pizza

Bad impression at first time coming to this place. Paid for VIP table of 4 to see Raulin Rodríguez perform, he came out to the stage around 12:45. Paid 428 taxes included. It said it was next to the stage. They had this place divided by a metal fence from where the regular people was. I attended with my sister who's shorter than me. And the people on the common area, used the fence to lean on, and wont let us see to the stage if we were sitting. We ask the waitress about that, and she said that when the artist comes out to perform, the security would remove the people from the there, so vip had full view to the stage, cuz it's not even next to the stage, as they said in the ticket. About food, I can't say anything because didn't order anything. But I hear isn't that good, and the prices on alcohol are super high. So I would say, DON'T COME . DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE.

I went to see Raulin rodriguez last night. The tickets were $55 plus tax $62. The club was open from 9pm-2am. Raulin shows up at 1245pm. Raulin is awesome ofcourse and sang straight through with no breaks BUT good luck ordering a drink. The bartenders are slow and overwhelmed and the ticket lady behind the main booth in the front is not at all friendly. I wasn’t able to order a drink the whole night. There were empty beer cans on the ground with spilled beer so be very careful.
