American classics, cocktails & many draft beers offered in a relaxed, brick-lined setting.
This restaurant has a really nice location and a great atmosphere it’s a fun spot to sit down and enjoy a meal. When we arrived, the hostess came off a little rude, which wasn’t the best first impression, but thankfully our waitress was super friendly and helped turn things around. My kids ordered the mac and cheese. I tried a bite and thought it was really good, but the kids weren’t quite as excited about it. My husband had the Sunrise American Burger and loved it the egg was cooked perfectly and added great flavor. I got the Social House Smash Burger, and it was delicious! The bacon was definitely the best part. The fries, though, were my personal favorite crispy, seasoned just right, and a great portion size. Overall, despite a bit of a rocky start, the food and service from our waitress made it a good experience. We'd come back!
Had a big group & everyone was satisfied! I had the ultimate grilled cheese and boy was it cheesy. Good beer selection as well!
The only reason I'm giving 3 starts is the pretzel sticks were amazing. The beer was good, and service was great and the atmosphere was perfect on a warm sunny day. The burger; we got the sunrise burger on sourdough, and when it came out, the sourdough was dry, the burger was dead and I actually had to look for the burger when it showed up. The fries were typical seasoned fries. They made it right by taking it off our bill. Otherwise, our table mates had a flatbread pizza that smelled amazing and looked full and hearty. The tots also looked great! I wouldn't recommend the sunrise burger.
Listen, Before I begin : The first time I came here I had an excellent server, who actually talked with me, and he was really great, he made me and my group laugh, and its why we keep coming back. Every time we come back we ask to sit with him again, and we are told he's not in. I hope he wasn't fired because he's the only reason I keep coming back. I usually am not this kind of person, I always tip 25-30% on a tab, I serve tables myself, I know what it's like to have Karens and ridiculous customers. I am not normally this upset. Last night we had a HORRIBLE experience with the service, and we were there for about 3-4 hours. I didn't catch the name of the servers that took care of us. We were a party of 5, our friends came in before us initially. And there's a party to our side who is shouting, and yelling, Its hurting our ears, so my friend asks if we can move somewhere else, as they are being super loud, and we try to approach this very politely. This lady looks to be about in her 30s, she's got black hair and she kinda snorted and said "Well there's no room anywhere else!" we said that was fine, and we apologized for asking, she ran off, and brought us another server and with a kind of tone said that he was going to be taking care of us for the rest of the night. This server was nice, asked us if we wanted anything to drink so we ordered some alcohol and he came back with those quickly. After this, we probably waited 40-45 minutes for him to come back. We finally put in a food order, and we waited probably 45-50 minutes, and it didn't look all that busy in the restaurant. Really that was fine because me and my friends were still having a good time. When to food finally comes out, the food is super delicious but my friend was missing tomato soup, which was fine, and a quick fix. About an hour passes, We haven't been checked on in forever, no check in on if the food was good (luckily it was good food!), or refills. The server finally comes back around and gets us a couple refills on drinks, after which he ends up disappearing for probably another hour?? Which is fine, it was starting to get busier and we suspect that he was the bartender. We ended up noticing the server who had handed over the table to someone else, has been watching us at the host stand glaring at us, she ended up standing there watching us for a whole 10 minutes. Which is super uncomfortable, and rude. We had an enjoyable experience on our own, but we would have appreciated more attention, and less rudeness from that lady staff. We hope the next time we come back, there is less attitude.
This was a good stop for us. We don't make it downtown often due to parking but when we do, we try something new. This was the case with the 202 Social House. It was a decent experience. The food was good, our server attentive. There was nothing there that particularly wowed me but it wasn't bad at all. Solid place to eat.
