Casual brewery offering housemade craft beer & dressed-up pub food, plus tours & growler refills.
I thought I reviewed this place a few years back when I first visited, but I guess not- so here we go. Lavery is quality run brewpub, with some really tasty beers on tap that span the gap between many different styles and flavors. On my most recent trip with my wife, I got a six beer flight to sample, and was impressed by all the chosen offerings, especially the coconut-laden Divine Intervention and the uniquely refreshing lime and cucumber and sea salt sour. The place itself is kind of on the darker side and is accented with a lot of wood and wood tones, which is just the rathskeller type of vibe that you want from a classic brewpub experience. There is also a nice patio area if you prefer a lighter experience during nice weather. The staff is attentive and friendly, and the food (which we tried on the last outing there) is tasty and compliments the drinks well. Overall, it's definitely a worthwhile stop if in the Erie area and looking for a nice beer in an enjoyable atmosphere.
My husband and I went on a night where they had live music so we sat outside. The food was phenomenal! We both agreed it was the best pizza and burger we’ve had in a long time. The pizza is large enough to split, we took home left overs. They had plenty of good options on tap - the sours were awesome, unique flavors. Great place to go if you’re with friends looking to have great food and drinks. Plenty of free parking.
My husband and I went with our dog and so we sat outside. It was a nice outdoor patio. You do need to have someone else to go inside to order and pay, so if you have a dog, make sure to come with a friend. The pizza was delicious and so were the quesobirria tacos. Gluten free items are clearly marked on the menu.
I ordered the Chicken Gyro with a side salad. The salad was fresh and the ranch was good. The Chicken Gyro and tzatziki were delicious. Best I've had in Erie. To drink I had the Spicy Margarita (I'm not a beer drinker). It was good. However, I do wish they had a hard cider on tap or even bottled. Overall, I would definitely go again.
The best brewery in the Northwest Pennsylvania area that I went to. And it wasn't even that close. All the beers were excellent, the vibe was chill and the service was fantastic.
