Hidden Gem for Book Lovers and Cocktail Enthusiasts Writer’s Block Rehab is a literary-themed lounge tucked away on Cypress Street in Philly’s Gayborhood. With creative cocktails like “Rita Has Passion” and “Tea with the Queen,” paired with delicious bites like a $20 charcuterie board, it’s perfect for a unique night out. The menus are tucked inside real books, and the cozy, book-filled ambiance encourages both conversation and quiet reading. Friendly staff like bartender Mike and server Bobby make the experience even better. Arrive early—this spot fills up fast, but it’s absolutely worth it!

I was excited to have a library/bookstore bar but they went for pictures of books instead of actual books. It souod be the equivalent of having pictures of the beach at a Tiki bar. The menu being in a book is a cool idea though they execution was a bit off with the menu overlapping the pages and what not. The beer itself was okay as well. It wasnt bad but also wasnt too memorable. The reason im being hard on this place is because I could see it being an incredible place with a few changes. If they had actual bookshelfs build into with the wall with books (ans no pictures), with the menu more seamlessly in the book and marked with a bookmark instead of a rubber band, and with good beer. All of these would make this a hidden gem but as it stands I would say its just okay

Decided to check it out because a coworker of mine used to work here. When I went there was only one person on staff thankfully it was a sunday and not too busy so he wasn’t overloaded! He was incredibly quick and kind. The upstairs area was very quiet and warm considering it was only 5 pm i was the only one up there for a bit and got to take it all in! But the downstairs is equally inviting! (my anxiety just prefers to be away from the bar) drinks were strong i had the mymosa and the bull rider and definitely felt them. Can’t wait to come back with friends!

This is truly my favorite bar. The drinks are amazing and every time I go I have met some of the most interesting people and spent the night chatting and having a great time. This is a very small bar but the perfect place to go for an intimate night out.
