This is the second “The Yard” I have been to. This one is not as good as the one I went to previously. I got the exact same order. The mac and cheese was inedible. Tasted very odd. It was not busy so my only view while eating was of servers just standing around the bar talking to other workers or friends that were also there. The Yard I went to before was the North Fayette - Robinson one. The burgers at each place were perfect. Really only issue food wise, was that the mac and cheese was definitely different in a bad way at this one. I would go back, but I would maybe opt for a time that is busier and get a different side
Waitress was extremely slow even though the place was not busy at all. Waitress forgot to bring half my order and when she did it was ice cold. My entree chicken wings were mediocre,their signature Mac and cheese was room temperature. Had to wait 10 minutes after the meal to get the bill making us late for a tour due to a mediocre meal. The prices are reasonable but the food is not and the service worse.
The cheese in the grilled cheese was not really melted. There was too much thick bread vs. cheese. The tomato soup was luke warm and the herbs in it were too over-powering to dip the grilled cheese into it. The burger was just a burger. The chips were cut too thick to be crispy. But the waffle fries were better than expected and had a nice seasoning to them. The inside was nice, but we felt nervous/spooked by the people loitering outside the restaurant. The entrance downstairs was not welcoming and was quite smelly. Our waitress was friendly, though, even though it was the end of the night.
THIS PLACE ROCKKKSSSS. We found this spot on my find me gluten free app. I felt so seen and safe. Whole gluten free menu!!! Besides that, it’s the best restaurant I’ve tried so far in this area. I recommend 10/10. Dani is seriously the best, she took such amazing care of me and my coworker. We will be back 100x while we are in town!!!!!
Our server was so sweet! She was very helpful in pricing tips on the menu and extremely accommodating. The food was very good - I don't do bread but I did have the Always Sunny Philly without it and it was spectacular! There is a very wide selection of beer on tap!
